“Fantastic experience, the broth (we got Tonkatsu but they have nine other types) was amazing and roiling hot out of the kitchen. It's nice to be able to pick what goes into your ramen as often time at other restaurants there's always something that I'm not too big a fan of, or nothing enough of something I like. The sever was attentive and wonderfully friendly. After a tasty hot meal you get to cool down with a free shave ice dessert (with Ramen purchase) which, like everything else, was delicious. My partner got the thai tea and said it was great. For the price and the customization options, I can't recommend it enough.“

“Had a chance to step back in time and visit Palace Saimin. It's a cute little old school restaurant serving up hearty bowls of Saimin. I opted for Wonmin which had about 6 very delicious wontons plus good quality noodles laced with little bits of chopped barbecue pork and chopped scallions in semi clear dashi broth. The beef sticks are amazing! I went with two, I probably could have ate six! Service was friendly and polite and the prices are extremely reasonable.“

“We stumbled upon this place by chance. Magnolia’s Ice Cream Shop was temporarily closed (short staff) due to the employee being on break, so we decided to go to Mitsuwa Market right across from Magnolia’s. We were pleasantly surprised with all the Japanese foods, household items, cosmetics, etc. at Mitsuwa. They even had prepared meals which you can warm up at the microwave closer to where Taiga Ramen is.
On to Taiga Ramen… LOVE the ramen!! I ordered the shoyu and my husband ordered the spicy miso ramen. Both had flavorful broth, plenty of meat, and perfectly cooked noodles. We also had karaage that was outstanding! The service was also outstanding! We’ll definitely add this to our rotation when in Oahu!!“

“The food is delicious 😋 and the service great. It was a Saturday night so b it was packed with a graduation celebration 🎓 about to arrive. However, when you put your name on the wait list your whole party must be there or they'll skip you. Parking is minimal but definitely worthwhile.“

“My toxic trait is thinking I can handle a Level 5 spice bowl here without breaking a sweat. Spoiler alert: the ramen won, but it was worth every tear. 🍜🔥
If you’re visiting or just moved to Oahu, this is the 'if you know, you know' spot in Honolulu. It’s cozy, authentic, and the smell of that Tonkotsu broth hits you the second you walk through the door.
What makes this place a neighborhood staple is the 'choose your own adventure' menu. You can customize everything:
• Noodle Thickness: Thin or thick? I’m team thick for that perfect chew.
• Firmness: From soft to firm, they get the texture right every single time.
• The Garlic Factor: You can literally choose your garlic level. Just a heads up—go big or go home.
It’s a smaller space and always buzzing, so get here early or be ready to make some new friends while you wait for a table. Easily some of the best comfort food on the island! 🤙✨“

“The great thing about this place is you can add your name to the waitlist on Yelp. I didn’t really need to do it this time, as when I came, we got a table right away, didn’t even need to check in.
The restaurant isn’t very loud for how many people are there, which is great.
Service is also quick, I ordered the Shoyu ramen and Katsu curry combo, and my partner ordered the Tonkotsu Ramen. It took less than 5 minutes for both our food to come out. My partner said that her ramen was good and that it’ll be a place we’ll come back, which is a great sign from her. Next time I will try something else though. I liked the katsu curry, but the shoyu ramen was just “OK” to me, I’m more used to the broth being a little more umami. But overall it’s a good place, will come back again .“

“The ramen soup is very good. We order two regular size shoyo and miso ramen. The flavor and the belly roasted pork are very good, but it was a little saltier than my taste can handle. The noodles was also done perfectly so no complaints in there.“

“Food was excellent! Ordered the aji ramen and size of portion and quality were top notch. Best fried calamari I've ever had. The giant gyoza couldn't be any better than it was. Service was phenomenal. Wrapped up with a refreshing dessert of shaved ice and boba. Highly recommend“

“I honestly love this place! I remember first time I came here there was a bit more stay so less of a wait. Tonight, I came with my 3 daughters and husband. They were very accommodating of my girls and upon getting there they offered a high chair for my youngest child. I got the spicy seafood ramen (I took the picture after having a few bites, oops) and my husband also had ramen but I forgot the name of it. We were both very impressed by the portion sizes! I can usually finish my ramen, but i was so full halfway through. My husband ended up finishing his, but he was full as well! My oldest loved the plain ramen with noodles they made for our girls. This was one of the only times I have seen her finish the bowl along with the brother, and ask for more! Not a lot else for keiki, but again, they were accommodating and we asked for 2 small bowls which helped us allow the youngest girls to try ramen. Now, I give 5 stars because the food was great, and even being short staffed the service was good too. I will forewarn that if you are in a rush, this place would probably not be good for you. I only say this because we saw one guy working register, taking orders, rending tables, and making the takeout. Then there was the one cook in the back. They are a great team, because I was being nosy and saw the huge order they made, while they still had our ramen out in a decent time. However, this did cause a little bit of a delay in the beginning. Once things slowed down, they had a good rhythm, and we were very well taken care of. I dont want to assume this establishment is family owned, but it could be with how short staffed they are. Anyways, if you want lots of noodles, and enjoy a cute hole in the wall, then I highly recommend! Make sure you check wait times if you're in a rush, and ask for little bowls for your keiki if they're tagging along. :)“

“I've been here for 10 years, I always come for a bowl of ramen, they have the very good seafood ramen, and my family like their chicken, spring rolls! I never try the curry because for me, the ramen is enough! It's the small tables along the wall and the kitchen are so hot, no air, no wonder I sweat like hell whenever they seat me there, but if it is not 2 or more people, of course I understand, I cant ask you for a bigger dinner table, right? It's just, please think about the hot air inside, maybe consider a fan? Thank you!“

“Searched a local mom n pop shop, came across this for a quick bite, loved it, get the combo, you can split rice and ramen and get 4 gyoza on top of it for about $16 bucks. Got very busy after and they were still able to serve and get food out to everyone probably withing 5-7 minutes. Would come back !“

“What a lovely, small, and quaint spot! Every time I crave Japanese food, this place transports me right back to Japan. The food is consistently excellent; it truly never disappoints. My favorite items for a to-go plate are the incredible chicken karaage and the flavorful ginger pork. While I haven't had a chance to dine in yet, I feel confident giving it a strong rating. The staff is always so welcoming and friendly during every takeout experience.“

“A solid ramenya inside the Lanai at the mall. This spot offers a variety of ramen options. Prices are a bit on the higher side but the bowls come in larger portions. I went with the half size spicy tan tan ramen with char siu which was perfect since I wasn’t too hungry. Otherwise the regular size would have been the way to go. The char siu pork was tender with a light chew while the noodles were al dente though thinner than I would have preferred. The real star was the broth which was flavorful, balanced, not overly salty or spicy, and tied the whole dish together beautifully. Seating is limited at the counter but you can always use the Lanai food court area if you prefer.“

“Inside of the Asian STIX food court I really like this ramen place. My husband and I have gone several times and each time we try something different and it is always sooo good. Appreciated the different take on the ramen dishes. Diverse menu and no one was disappointed. Its definitely a must try restaurant. Staff were friendly and service was prompt. Will be back for sure.“
“I have been here twice; once for breakfast and once for plate lunch. Both were solid meals, good portions and I got out under $15. I had a Portuguese sausage omelet for breakfast and chicken katsu curry for lunch. The picture is half way through the regular size portion. The interior doesn't have a lot of seating but it's clean and air conditioned.. . I highly recommend this Ewa Beach hole in the wall. Plus they cater. Ono-licious.“

“Lucky Belly has an amazing ambiance with warm wood, brick, bar seating, and a stylish, comfortable dining room. The service was phenomenal, and the Beast Bowl was rich, hearty, and packed with flavor. It comes with brisket, short ribs, oxtail won tons, bean sprouts, wakame, sesame seeds, green onion, ginger, and a soft egg. The broth was savory and comforting, the meat was tender, and the whole bowl was very satisfying.“

“We visited this Taiwanese beef noodle restaurant on Waikiki Street in Oahu about six months ago and came twice because we really enjoyed it. This time, when we came back to Hawaii, we made sure to visit again.
The noodles are delicious, comforting, and very satisfying. The broth has great flavor, and the whole meal feels warm and relaxing. The young man who served us was also very friendly and provided great service.
We are happy to come back again and would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a good bowl of Taiwanese beef noodles in Waikiki.“

“It was so delicious and the waiter was so nice. Very cozy little spot. There was a mentally ill person that was being loud and well, saying I was nasty, but they took care of it very quickly. I wouldn't list that detour you and I 'm sure that doesn't happen often there and I would definitely go again! The #2 popular soup base I would definitely recommend!“

“My son and I visited Ayame Curry And Ramen House for the first time this past Friday. We have to be cautious with any new restaurant because of allergies. I called beforehand, and the person on the phone was pleasant and assured me that the sauce would not affect our particular allergies.
We both had Combo Set C. This consisted of shoyu ramen, pork fried rice, and pork gyoza.
The ambiance was casual and relaxed. We walked in just after they opened, so there was no crowd. The greeter welcomed us warmly, presented us with a menu, and said that someone would be there to help us shortly. I asked about the ramen base and cooking oil, because of my shell fish and my son's peanut allergies. She assured us that they use a shoyu base, and would explain to the cooks about our allergy concerns. She was friendly, and helpful. We both appreciated that.
My son and I were already enjoying the peaceful atmosphere, and the quick, reassuring, pleasant service. When the food came we were delightfully surprised.
The scrumptious smell of the ramen filled the air as it was brought to our table. It was delectable to the eyes, as well as the olfactory senses. The gyoza, and fried rice came shortly afterward. All of our dishes were prepared promptly, and proficiently. The ramen was warm and savory. I normally don't like to finish the soup, because it has a tendency to be too salty. Not so with this sauce. It was perfect. My son commented that I inhaled, rather than discarded it, like I usually do. The fried rice was wonderful, an amalgamation of flavors brought together in an impeccable way. The gyoza effortlessly complimented this combo.
With great quality food, service, and ambiance, we will definitely be back here again, just as most of Kaneohe.“

“Went to Sun Noodle today(Saturday) because my daughter wanted a ramen bar for her Birthday tomorrow. The nice lady upstairs in the office helped me pick out a specific type of noodle from their product catalog after I described what type of noodles my daughter likes and she also explained to me how the numbers of the noodles correspond to the thickness. I got 15 orders ( 3, 5 packs) of freshly made noodles, tonkotsu and tan tan broth to go with it. Ordering was super easy, you go back downstairs to the outside, walk to the right, press the buzzer on the right hand side of the adjoining warehouse, another girl came out with my order, processed my credit card payment and off I went. Fast, simple and very economical. This was my first time going there although we eat ramen everywhere Sun Noodle distributes their noodles. Love their products, will surely go there again to stock up on my daughter's favorite food, Ramen!!!“

“Picked up party trays for a small New Year's celebration. The food was delicious and all our favorites: chicken katsu, gyoza, pork fried noodles, shabu beef curry. The curry can be messy in a tray but they double-wrapped it in foil to keep it from spilling. It is the best curry anywhere. Everyone at Sumo Ramen Kaneohe is always willing to do whatever it takes to make us happy. The prices are good too. They made our New Year special.“

“This was my first time here. I ordered the black garlic ramen with extra charsiu, a dish I regularly order when trying new ramen places. The ramen was good, I do wish there was a little more noodles. The charsiu was okay, slightly over cooked. The half boiled egg was very over cooked, yolk was chalky.
The service was very good. The staff was polite and fast. I greatly appreciate the free extra gyoza they gave me.“

“The food here had large portions with lots of different options. The food was okay. I got the shaka house ramen, it was spicy but that was about it for flavor, the actual broth was pretty bland and didn't stand out. The steak that is was served with was good though. It was busy when we went it was around 6:30 pm. When we were waiting for our food there was a strong crusty smell in the restaurant, me and my friends couldn't figure out what is was and it did kinda make the atmosphere unpleasant. The waitress did take a while to get to our table to take our order, and we had no idea we needed to go up to the counter to pay. Overall I would kinda recommend, only if you want big portions and mildy good tasting food.“
