“Spicy Ahi has been our go-to Friday dinner spot for many years, and for good reason! Their ingredients are always fresh and high quality, making every meal consistently delicious. What truly sets them apart is their careful attention to takeout packaging—everything is packed thoughtfully to ensure the food stays fresh and intact by the time we get home. Whether dining in or taking out, Spicy Ahi never disappoints. Highly recommend!“

“I LOVE THEIR CURRY STEW, HOT SPICY AND SO GOOD! YOU GET LOTS OF MEAT POTATOES AND CARROTS. REMINDS ME OF THE OLD ALAMOANA FOOD WAGON. THAT HAD LINES EVERYDAY, THIRTY YEARS AGO. I WAS SO HAPPY TO FIND THIS PLACE!“

“I was told that the owners of Miki’s opened this business to serve food for all the people working graveyard shift or finished work late.
With that being said, this place has the best food anywhere in this time frame 12am - 3am. Miki’s is an amazing change of food choices for late at night.
-The plates are cheaper with big servings compared to other places.
-Lines get long but the wait time after ordering is never past 10 minutes.
-Parking is fun because it’s either on the curb or the side of the street.
People reviewing this place needs to realize this hole-in-the-wall food business is meant for people like me. Those who work late into the night, that’s my demographic. If you’re comparing this place to Zippys or anything like that, then go there shut up. This place makes all their food with love, that beats anything opened after hours to me, no 7/11, McDonald’s, no fast food place can compete that.“

“I always enjoy eating at L&L Hawaiian Barbecue. Even though it’s a chain, this location consistently has great food and does a really good job with the classics.
The katsu was cooked perfectly, the breading had the ideal crisp texture while the meat inside was tender and the sauce was flavorful. I also ordered the mixed BBQ plate, and everything on it was cooked well and tasted fresh.
The woman at the counter was also very friendly and kind, which made the experience even better. Great service always makes a difference.
Out of all the locations I’ve tried, this one is definitely my favorite. The food quality is consistently good, and it’s the spot I always look forward to coming back to.“

“Hands down the best Japanese BBQ on the island! We’ve tried many Yakiniku both in Hawaii and LA but this was by far the best quality! Not only the quality of the meat but the service was excellent. You know when the vibe, food, and the people are good, it’s the best experience you can get. Highly recommend this place to try!
Our favorite was the Premium beef tongue with green onions and the intestines!“

“When I was growing up, going to school across the street at Aliamanu, they only had Pioneer Chicken at that corner of the Shopping Center. Several years later, after Pioneer Chicken was no more, I was pleased to discover this new Korean BBQ place that opened up there.“

“Authentic Korean mixed plate. My Korean husband was impressed by the quality and variety of the banchan (side dishes). Staff are friendly and the shop is clean. There are a few seats inside, otherwise there is outside seating directly next to the shop.“

“So good! Driving up to the North Shore from the airport we wanted something local. Family owned. No frills just awesome chicken. So juicy. We all had sandwiches and the pulled chicken is more like chunks with some pulled. Not overly shredded. And not doused with sauce. Just a nice enhancement. We had the melts and they were delicious. The bread is crusty but soft inside. An easy bite. And my son loved his Cajun fries. Off street parking in the rear.“

“Ate there today.. best BBQ pork I’ve had here on Oahu. Hawaiian sauce was wonderful and baked beans were simmered with tiny pieces of jalapeños, had a slight delicious kick. Wedge salad… heavenly. i“

“This is the perfect hidden food place that locals go to. Good food, good prices and the service is practically non existent. Meaning, it's 99% take out. There is a small table outside but that's why it's cool. No nonsense food at a good price. I highly recommend the Bento #1, the Katsu and the fried chicken.
Parking: The parking is hard to find but if you wait for a few minutes someone will leave.“

“Hanna and Ming are so awesome. The food is soooo yummy. They make special requests for me without batting their lashes. Their curry is really good and matches well with... well... everything!!! I usually ask them for salt and pepper chicken with curry. They add fresh spicy peppers, jalapeños I think, and onions. Its really amazing. I wanted to change it up and asked for steamed fish with curry and just peppers and Ming was like "Sure, I can do that." I didn't want rice or Mac either and he said no problem. This is what I got! Nice and spicy, fish is so tender and their curry sauce is always my go to. I'm serious, its pretty amazing!!“

“Always love ordering take out here at Ono Korean bbq. I'm craving kalbi today. Always quick and friendly service.
Vegetarian options: You can order just the side dishes as a plate mix. They will let you chose 4-5 side dishes items. I love their broccoli and bean sprout side dishes. They also have plain tofu as side dish.
Parking: There's always plenty of parking. We never had a time where we would go looking for parking.“

“Was a nice change of scene. Celebrated Alex 10th Birthday per his request. Most of our family is tall, at the end of the round of golf 2 peoples back were sore from bending down a lot lol.
Also, felt pressured with people behind us being that we were a party of 6, but couples and families were nice enough to skip the hole and go ahead of us.
1 different colored ball and 1 club assigned per player.
Next time we’ll try their BBQ. It was a rainy day so we left after our game.
Would we go back? On occasion.“

“If you're looking for some roast pork, chicken or duck come here. It's a pick up and go place so don't expect a place to sit unless you find some outside in the plaza. If you're looking for simple, great tasting roasted meat on rice or crispy noodles this is the place. It's simple and delicious. The menu isn't extensive. Other than those roasted meats there's also ginger chicken that I particular love.
The cost of the food here is a great value as well. Each plate I got was enough to feed 2 or 3 people. I would recommend getting a mix of the meats and share. It was all good.“

“My kalby- tang was an excellent choice for me here. The first impression was a visual ribs with chunks of meat on it where is so rare to see on a restaurant in my experience. Then its soup where I black peppered over it and the taste was so great and not even salty like other places just right!. I didn’t pour the rice in it where I usually do but instead without realizing it I get to finish it until the last drop.“

“Delicious and huge portions! Had Grilled ahi and Teust Us Special with shrimp and ribs - all super flavorful. Would prefer potato or green salad over their long mac. Will definitely be back, perfectly located for pre/post airport stop. 3 picnic style tables (not fancy, but clean) and most were locals doing takeout with easy parking.“

“Came in and ordered Teriyaki beef Saimin, mini Loco Moco, Salmon burger with a side of fries, and a mini Chicken Katsu. Very delicious, the chicken was crispy, salmon was cooked well, noodles in the Saimin were not over cooked, and the Loco Moco was great! Highly recommend stopping in here!
We dined in, the A/C could be a little bit colder inside.“

“Ordered the Mahi katsu. Taste delicious, value for cost, excellent. The plate was just under 14 dollars and there were 4 count um 4 full sized pieces of fish. They have many side dishes to choose from as well. If you are a fish lover, this is the plate you've been looking for.“

“The food was so good! Ok, there's no indoor dining and the outdoor dining is really rough but during our meal there the locals seemed to love it and for good reason. This is what I imagine authentic Hawaiian BBQ for the working man is like. When you go to a BBQ place and see the orange construction either shirts, is probably going to be good and it was. The girl at the register recommend the beef short ribs and they were amazing. My wife had the teriyaki chicken and it had amazing flavor, though a bit overcooked, I still finished it if for her gladly. My only warning: one dish is plenty for two hungry people! We were getting ready to head to the airport and didn't want any to go to waste, so we have half to a mother with four teenage boys. They were 😊. Definitely will return next time we visit the island.“

“Hangang offers a warm, and authentically Korean atmosphere. The interior is clean and comfortable, making it perfect for family dinners, friendly gatherings, or a relaxed date night. The staff are friendly, attentive, and professional, which adds to the overall pleasant experience. The banchan (side dishes) are fresh, flavorful, and well-balanced, while the main dishes are deeply seasoned, comforting, and taste homemade. 🌺🤙🏻💗“
“If you’re working or wandering through downtown Honolulu and need a legit food win, do yourself a favor and stop by My BBQ. 🔥
From the moment you walk in, the staff sets the tone—super friendly, quick, and dialed-in. It’s the kind of place that makes you feel like a regular even if it’s your first visit.
Now let’s talk about the real reason you’re here: the meat jun. My wife and I have been on a serious hunt for the best one on the island, and we both agree… this is the spot. They don’t skimp either—thick cuts of meat, a perfectly balanced batter, and that sauce? Just the right touch of sweetness that ties everything together.
Portions are generous, quality is consistent, and everything just hits the mark. Whether you’re grabbing a quick lunch between meetings or planning catering for an office event, they make it easy and go above and beyond to accommodate.
Hands down one of our favorite spots in town. Highly recommend.“

“Wow I drove past this place many times, shame on me for not stopping by for a bite. Today I was just looking for breakfast and maaaayyyynnnn the breakfast combo!!!
$9.59 bucks in ward is awesome, which included 2 eggs, 1 spam, 2 pocho sausage, 2 links, and 4 bacon.!!!. Most places would probably cost 15-20+ bucks for that.
Not to mention, it was only after my order was almost done I see a sign for $1 adder for fried rice, shucks. Definitely going try that next time. I forgot to ask for over easy when I grabbed my bag and was like oh no don't be scrambled haha. We'll it seems to be standard as over easy it was, so if u want scramble be sure to ask.
On top of the deal my food was out in a few minutes behind one small order and a large order, so gray job on quick time.
Inside is your normal plate lunch seating area. There is also metered street parking along the north bound lane of Cooke St.
They have a good size menu, and I definitely will be back to try some of their other food. For now I found my go to breakfast spot in ward area haha!!!“

“Wow…we loved our meals. We stopped here by quickly on our way from Waikiki to the airport, and easily found street parking. The vermicelli bowls with lemongrass chicken & tofu (and a banh mi with pork + chicken) were so fresh, so filling, and really high quality. Delicious Vietnamese iced coffee. The service was kind, as well. Highly recommend for a relaxed & high quality meal!!“

“Sunset Lanai ia a great bar with an awrsomr view. They have a really nice bar area and outdoor patio that overlooks pearl harbor. The bar tender was very friendly and prompt. The wings were great, just crispy enough. The fries were really good, seasoned well, and crispy to perfection. Defineftly would go back.

“My auntie used to take us here all the time when we had sleep over on weekends because the food is awesome and large portions and affordable. She would order two of the special plates and good enough for the four cousins. The small restaurant is in a 2 story building on the street behind Times Waipahu so parking is not an issue.
Today, the quality and taste stayed the same, with a fully loaded and worth the price. It included a good size strip each of meat jun, kal bi, BBQ chicken, BBQ beef, 4 veggies and rice for under $23, good enough for 2 meals. The owners are lovely and friendly. The kimchi here is authentic. Also the Spicy Beef Soup is fire.“

“Genuinely the best roast duck & roast pork we've ever had. Some restaurants either get roast duck/pork right or they don't at all. This place absolutely does it right.
We got the roast duck with tripe & roast pork with pig stomach bentos. The duck & pork was juicy through & through. Pork was perfectly crispy without trying to cut the roof of my mouth. The sauce that comes with was flavorful without being too salty.
The tripe & pig stomach were both amazing as well & not too chewy or tough. Staff was friendly & service was quick. We almost passed on this place but so glad we stopped by!“

“If you are looking for some Cantonese BBQ while in Honolulu, you must stop here and pick up some of this guys meat. I got a half pound of BBQ pork (char siu), half pound of roast pork (siu yuk), and a half a chicken (see yao gai). All of the dishes were well prepared, well seasoned, and cooked to perfection! You will not find anything to complain about when this meat is in your mouth! I went for dimsum at a nearby stall, and chanced upon Meimei. I took a chance and I discovered a master! Please visit here and enjoy! I will return!“

“The portions here are HUGE! The kalbi combo is a steal and the marinade is amazing.
We ended up eating here three times during our five day trip in Ko Olina.
A mini size was perfect for me (2 kalbi ribs with rice and two sides). My husband did well with the regular (3 kalbi ribs with rice and four sides). You can also buy more side dishes.
Everything tasted super fresh and delicious.
P.S., my husband couldn’t stop man crushing on the cook/owner? He looks like a Korean actor!“

“Chogajip is one of those late-night, old-school Korean spots in Honolulu. It’s not trendy or polished, but it fills a very specific role: big portions, strong flavors, and comfort food when you want something heavy and spicy.
If you grew up eating Korean soups or want something closer to Korean ajumma-style cooking rather than modern Korean fusion, this place makes sense.“

“We chose to eat at a L&L to guage what we can expect from Hawaii and what they are well know for, Plate Lunch. We were not disappointed. Big portions with full flavored chicken and Kalbi beef. The mac salad was awesome. Chicken had the perfect cook and was juicy. The kalbi beef rib was melt in your mouth and the sauce exploded with flavor. Even with many Lunch Plates we tried later in the week couldn't stand up to this one. Definitely worth a stop even though they are a chain.“
