Got the mini meat jun, tasted great
I’ve bought catering pans multiple times (most recently, this past Thanksgiving and Christmas) from the Tasty barbecue in the Palama Market and will continue to do so. Their meat jun, barbecue chicken and shrimp fried noodles are moist and delicious. They give a lot for a reasonable price. And the owner is super nice!!! We love this place!

One highlight is that you can substitute your rice and Mac salad for any of their veggies, such as corn, bean sprouts, shoyu potato, chop jae, choi sum or kim chee. Another highlight is their loyalty card. Most places give you just one stamp for your purchase, but Tasty BBQ gives you a stamp for each plate you buy. You can quickly fill up your card and earn $10 off on your next meal. Their catering is also popular and goes towards your stamp card too. Prices are reasonable for the generous portions you get. A regular meal can easily be shared. Their "make your own bento" is ideal at $7.50 and comes with two pieces of Mandoo and you select the protein and veggie of your choice. It's a dollar more if you choose the Meat Jun. They prepare their Meat Jun differently - not deep fried but grilled with less oil. The meat has a flavor of its own. Customer service is top-notch and they aim to please. The BOGO Mochiko Chicken mini plate had the right crispiness on the outside and the meat was juicy inside. The fried fish bento came with a little side of tartar sauce and japchae. The catering pans of meat jun, barbecue chicken and shrimp fried noodles are moist and delicious. The mochiko chicken plate was flavorful and delicious, not bland at all, slightly sweet tasting. The service was good and fast. The bento price is $7.50 except for the Meat Jun for $8.50, and it comes with the main entree, 2 mandoo, 1 veggie and a scoop of rice. Waimalu Tasty BBQ still satisfies cravings.
