When I was growing up, going to school across the street at Aliamanu, they only had Pioneer Chicken at that corner of the Shopping Center. Several years later, after Pioneer Chicken was no more, I was pleased to discover this new Korean BBQ place that opened up there.

Soon's Kal Bi Drive In is a local Korean restaurant that offers delicious take-out options. The veggies on the side are incredible, and the food comes out hot and fresh. Very friendly service and quick pick-up make it a great spot for a quick lunch. There are a couple of picnic tables outside, but it’s mostly a takeout place. Heads up, they only take cash. Located in the back corner of Salt Lake Shopping Center next to Pizza Hut, there’s lots of free parking right in front.
