“After visiting Pearl Harbor, I searched for a good restaurant and was surprised at how delicious it was. The quality of sashimi was better than the tourist attractions in Waikiki and the prices were reasonable. I'm going to go again next time?“

“I ordered the 2 choice bento with spicy ahi and teriyaki chicken. I didn’t take a picture because I forgot and ate the whole plate realizing I should have took the picture because it was AMAZING!!! There’s a sweet lady that works here, she seems like she loves what she does because of her smile! Definitely coming back(:“

“I went there a while ago, and this is a great restaurant! Personally, I really enjoyed Baked Dynamite & Lion King. Also, all the employees, including the owner, are friendly. If you go to Waikiki, I recommend stopping by at least once.“

“Little place by the airport that packs some serious flavor. Fair warning if it says spicy it means it! Some of the best sushi I have ever had. Service was also super nice! I'll be coming back to try different rolls. They were very accommodating for my wife's allergies as well and understanding and recommended what not to have or to have.“

“This sushi spot is an absolute hidden gem! Tucked away under a covered parking garage, it might be a bit tricky to find, but it's well worth the effort. The sushi rolls are huge and packed with flavor. The Dragon Tears roll was a standout—simply delicious! Fresh ingredients, great presentation, and a unique atmosphere make this place a must-visit. Highly recommend for any sushi lover looking for something special!“

“Their sushi cake exceeded our expectations. It was so delicious and almost too pretty to eat! The 2 guys working when I picked up were awesome! Super friendly and one even took the time to show me the cake and gave tips on how to cut and eat it! Their customer service from ordering to pick up was exceptional!“

“I read the bad reviews first just to have another point of view prior of my visit.
Obviously all this review are points of views and I respect that. My personal experience in this place was awesome, I found this place really tasty and delicious. Of course I get my favorite California Roll and I request unagi Sauce, the amount was very generous, I get a Salmon avocado roll, mmmm very very delicious, if my first time trying this one. My friend he get a lot of food. I don’t know what he get but he eat everything ?
If I go to Waikiki I definitely I can stop by because the location is at the entrance of Waikiki. I don’t know if they have parking just because I don’t drive so is something to check is some visit this place and arrive by car
Wheelchair accessibility: Is the first floor so it is accessible“

“I don’t know why it had the bad comment about this lunchbox that it is going to be my favorite so far from now on I expect that the sushi rice is gonna make from the red vinegar but actually is kind of like regular rice with white vinegar maybe and a little bit sweet but still tasty I got otoro uni ankimo a lot of ikura and a lot of kind of fish every pieces so fresh and tasty
The fish may be coming in small pieces but this is what chirashi box supposed to be
May you feel this box is not to big but for the girl I eat a half box and I feel full already and leftover I keep for My Husband
Guys and this box just 40$ after tax around 44$
I feel like I have small omakase from this box so don’t miss it when u come to hawaii????
But location of the restaurant really hard to find so it’s gonna be in the lobby floor so your support to take the elevator and when you come out, turn right be careful to pick up in time 4:30 PM they’re gonna keep your box until 5 PM after that they have to throw it away, because it’s a fresh fish
Staff, smiling and really polite
I would buy this-box again and this restaurant gonna be my restaurant for my anniversary with My Husband for sure❤️“

“It's a really delicious house. I wish I had known sooner. The sauce is delicious, the butter grilled scallops are delicious, and the rib eye steak comes with gravy and mushrooms and is really delicious. The owner is also very kind. The sashimi was also fresh. I came again after a week. I forgot to take a picture because I was busy eating. Parking is available for free in the building across the street.“

“Super chill ayce sushi spot for a good price (29.95).
They don’t do rolls, only nigiri and hand rolls. But the sushi is delicious, the best ayce sushi I’ve ever had!
I highly recommend the spicy unagi, Hawaiian (ahi with mayo and shiso leaf), and salmon skin handrolls!“

“Excellent service, super fresh seafood. We had their omakase and a couple dozen raw oysters. Started off with the spicy salmon which was nice and silky. Then the sashimi plate came out. The otoro was buttery and delicious. The nigiri plate didn’t disappoint. The raw New Zealand oysters came out super cold and was really sweet.
The service was superb. Our server came to check on us and made sure our waters were filled.“

“This was a birthday dinner at sunset. We had the prime table with a view of the sun setting over the ocean. Our server was upbeat and helpful with menu items. He recommended a much better red wine in a similar price range. The food was fantastic. While expensive, it was very much worth the cost. This capped a wonderful day.“
“New cute little cafe serving sushi, donburi, musubi, tea, smoothies, and coffee. 5 drink toppings available (for an upcharge) and 5 levels of sweetness. Do they do have Grand Opening promotions going on today and the place is busy.
The prices are reasonable, being on the lower side of average.
Food and drinks are a slow to come out, pretty understandable for a new cafe getting into their routine.
There is no restroom for customers and I don't see any signage for wifi. The music choice was great but the volume was too loud for conversation. As well as no restroom there there's no sanitizer replaced to wash your hands.
Teens were in and out of the kitchen, I'm pretty sure they were the kids of the owner/manager but one may work here. Definitely saw 1 lick his finger. The manager mostly just watched the front of house and only greeted people who he knew.
When the food finally came, it had been over 20 minutes. The sushi was put together quite well, but they just put it in a large plastic bag and handed to you. I kept it from being jostled, but an oversized plastic bag is not the best method. They did not give any shou, but did gave plastic utensils for an order of sushi which is weird.
The food does taste good. I feel this place has a lot of potential, it's in a great location for busy people wanting lunch. I think once they have a routine down and speed up service an increase customer service skills this place could be pretty good.“

“I recently visited this small sushi spot and had a great experience. The sushi was incredibly fresh, and the chef was very friendly. I also ordered a few rolls and forgot to take pictures. Spicy ahi with cucumber was tasty. The staff was attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. There's free parking just across the street, which is a nice bonus. It’s a small space, so definitely make a reservation ahead of time to secure a table. Highly recommend!“

“We found this place on another online platform after going to the Dole Plantation. It is located in a strip mall that looks old and run down so we were skeptical. We located the restaurant in the corner of the lot (next to the Goodwill). We sent a scout in take a look prior lol. The scout gave us the all clear so we entered the restaurant, which was clean and had open tables. We were greeted by a nice man who took the time to get to know us and give us some island history. Ok to the food: There were 4 of us. Each ordered a different entree. 1. Spam hand roll and a tempura hand roll - deliciousness 2. Energy roll- this tasted very fresh and was a roll with eel and avocado on top with eel sauce- deliciousness 3. Ahi poke bento box- came out looking just like the picture on the menu( how many times does that happen!) lots of fresh fish and rolls- deliciousness 4. Tempura shrimp bowl with spicy sauce on top. Tempura shrimp Packed in a bowl on a bed of rice. - deliciousness 5. Spicy ahi poke bowl- came out with tons of fresh ahi covered in spicy mayo and sriracha sauce. - delicious if you like spicy fresh fish. This mom and pop shop deserves your business. The food (all of it) tasted fresh and made with care. I would not write it if it wasn’t true. They will serve you a complimentary miso soup to start ( no spoons here, sip out of cup!) All in all great grub. We will be back!“

“I discovered this restaurant while playing in the water with my family at the Hilton Lagoon. The Korean owner was very kind and customized it to suit the customer, leaving out the wasabi since he said it was for children. When I went there, they even gave me tteokbokki as a service, and it was delicious????“

“This place should be rated WAY higher. The rolls were FRESH, the rice was HOT; they even used real crab in their rolls! (I don't think I've ever had sushi made with real crab before)
I WILL SAY-- they're only cash. But that doesn't matter when the food is that great.
Perfectly filled my bf and I for lunch for $13.“

“Update: So I ordered again to give the place another try. I ordered a salmon bowl again. I asked again for no sauce, in much more specific terms and hoped for the best. They came through this time and I was able to enjoy the food without worrying, so I'm very happy. It was yummy, but I did notice the sprouts and cucumbers were missing. These were listed in the base ingredients for the bowl, which is why I didn't request them as an add-on. It's a pretty pricey meal, so please remember to include everything next time.
Original review: I just ordered a bowl from here. In my order, I explicitly asked for no sauce on or in my bowl, both by choosing the "no sauce" option and by writing "no sauce" in the request section. Also asked for no fried onions. I can't have the sauce or the onions because I'm on a strict, doctor-ordered low sodium diet. The food gets here and it's slathered in sauce, fried onions everywhere.“

“We ordered the Kani Salad, French Fries, Shrimp & Vegetable Tempura, Hamachi Wonder Roll, Masago, Tobiko, and Ninja Roll.
Kanoya Sushi had great quality food, a R&B music vibe with low light & intimate atmosphere. The service was friendly & attentive. I love not having to ask for water refills! I would definitely come back again! The parking was also easy to find because it was right in front of the restaurant, but they did have a very limited amount of stalls.
Parking: Very limited amount of stalls in front of restaurant.“

“This is a great little bento shop. It is cash only. It’s also local, don’t look for whole grain rice, fine slabs of ahi, or anything of the like. The fried chicken is great with tasty skin. Generous portions for the price (about $9 as of late 2022)“

“I wonder why they serve human food but have the name “fish food”? hm, the world may never know. anywho, i had the spicy ahi bowl (?) that came with rice, some fish, and 2 pieces of gyoza with sauce. the fish was good and had the spiciness of a 3.5 on the caucasian scale of spicy; has a little kick but won’t make you cry out for jésus or anything. the convenience of having poke on base was amazing but the portion size was not! $15 or so for a small bento sized meal is a little pricey as poke bowls at foodland are about $5 cheaper and they give you more fish and rice as well. For the size of fish food hawaiis spicy ahi, i have attached a pic to show the size with an ice breakers ice cube gum for a scale (didn’t have banana for scale)“

“we came from town all the way here for the first time and decided to eat here as they had no wait, it was a great decision in the end because the food was 10/10. it’s a super small family owned place, only one serve and (i believe) the owner going around helping customers. service was great and the chefs handed the rolls directly to us at our table once they were prepared! super happy with our experience.“

“Omakase is special here. Everything had an extra element of nuanced flavor and treatment that is uncommon if not rare to find in most other sushi restaurants. You can tell by the first plate you're presented as starters. Tiny place, so plan on getting to greet and chat with others. But the dinner I attended here we ran into only cute families with cute kids.“

“Found this small restaurant as I walked around the area. Prices have increased from the menu I saw posted on here. Most are three dollars higher. There is a small seating area and I suppose you can eat there but this seems more like an order and go type of place. Food is decent. I found the portions to be spot on. I couldn’t finish my bento box and I took a bite of the poke bowl my wife ordered. Both were good. Fresh stuff. I’d recommend for sure.“

“Absolutely love the home-like atmosphere. The gentleman in the front was very comforting and relaxed. He even took the time to take my food out of the bag when he realized I was dining in for lunch. He even gave me a bowl of Miso The sushi is good - Spicy Ahi comes finely cut, not cubed like foodland... and to me, it's a winner. I also got their grilled salmon Maki which was tasty, not drenched with unagi or anything like that, just finely drizzled so you could still taste the fish. Overall lovely place to come if you're trying to get away from those big box brand and food courts.“

“Would I go there again? Probably not. It's pretty pricey. You can get to experience local fish and unique sushi. I didn't love every single dish, but there are a handful that I can appreciate and it was an interesting and unique experience since I normally eat the same type of more common sushi. I think there's a lack of transparency with the omakase style and pricing. I think you can end your courses earlier if you wanted to save money or was full, but we didn't know that and just paid for every course and didn't end up eating the last few dishes thinking it was an all-in cost. The place is also a bit stuffy And not very inviting . The chef who looked like the head chef has a Stern stare and I felt judged by him and the staff . I echo what some of the other reviewers say about it. Feeling like the place thought highly of itself . I mostly wouldn't go back because it's expensive for what it is. It was minimum 200 per person.“

“We come here mostly for the sushi, and it didn't disappoint. The sushi here is sublime. I particularly the seared sushi with the added textures and flavors of a few herbs or shallots. The best sushi I've ever eaten. We did get some tempura shrimp and the tempura was so light and the shrimp not over cooked. Excellent“
