“4.7/5 — nearly perfect. Sushi Sho was one of the best and most focused sushi experiences I’ve had. The meal is prepaid through Tock, with gratuity included, so once you sit down the experience is entirely about the omakase.

Don’t expect caviar, truffles, or unnecessary luxury ingredients added to justify the price. Sushi Sho is about technique, precision, and thoughtful combinations of both local Hawaiian and Japanese ingredients. The rice, temperature, seasoning, texture, and progression of each piece were incredibly deliberate. It feels like a pure sushi experience rather than a luxury tasting menu disguised as omakase.

Keiji Nakazawa wasn’t behind the counter during our visit, but that didn’t detract from the experience. The sushi masters were extremely attentive and detail-oriented, with warm, personal service throughout.

We spent about $490 per person all-in, including sake, beer, and one additional piece. Expensive, absolutely, but the value is in the craftsmanship and execution rather than flashy ingredients. 4.7/5 and about as close to perfect as a sushi experience gets for me.“

“The food was absolutely phenomenal. We have tried a variety of sushi places including several omakase experiences. This place is a fantastic for sushi. I mean truly in a league of its own. The other touches like the authenticity, the ambience, and the service were also great. The chef was quite friendly and the staff was great. They do have an added, automatic gratuity of 20% but it is well earned and deserved. It may be better framed as a service fee or baked into the price, but that would be my only mention to set expectations. Other than that, every single option we chose on the menu (as a party of 2 we ordered 9 different items and each was a delight) not only reads well but is delicious! Their house made soy sauce served with a brush-tool as well as the wasabi in rice was a first time, unique culinary experience for us, and it was nothing short of phenomenal. Both really help bring out flavorful bites!“

“A friend of mine highly recommended this place. I passed by a few times and there was always a line. So I decided to go on a week night right at 5pm when they open instead of waiting in line.

The plan worked! No wait. We could choose to sit inside or outside. Since the staff were still getting ready for the evening shift I got to see details like the sushi chef carefully putting hachimaki on his head. Everything was done with care and intention.

The wait staff were wonderful. Food arrived quickly. They were so delicious, we ate everything!

What touched me most was that when we first placed the order, I wanted a hot tea, not ice water. The waiter apologized and said they were unfortunately out of tea. I later forgot about it.

In the middle of eating our food, this lady came, seemingly out of nowhere, and presented me with a cup of hot green tea. It was perfect! I could taste the love. I felt so touched they remembered! And took the time and effort to make it for me.

For food, we had the sizzling beef sukiyaki, Tonkotsu ramen, salmon avocado 🥑 roll. Everything tasted fresh and authentic. The portion felt just right, we ate everything, felt content.

The staff were so wonderful, serving us, and I loved the welcome and send off greetings. The whole experience reminded me of being back in Japan.

It’s a really cool area of dying with family, friends or coworkers and also there is parking lots of parking right behind. It is literally connected within the storage building. literally it is located across McKinley high school’s football field. It is such a jam. They have really good fish there. The ambience is calm. “There's not enough space to right the good things about this place. As soon as you walk in, you are greeted and acknowledged by everyone, including the sushi chefs. Water and drink order is perfectly timed. Whether you order teishoku complete meals or sushi, the flavor and and portions are spot on. If you choose to sit at the sushi counter, the spread is just amazing. From white fish, tuna, to shellfish and sometimes even a fruit or plant to cleanse the pallet. The unagi avocado bowl was excellent—glazed eel with a nice char, perfectly ripe avocado slices, sesame seeds, and a generous pile of green onion over seasoned rice, plus a solid hit of wasabi. “Since we moved from Town to Kapolei, wife and I have been wanting an authentic sushi type place and we stumbled upon Yoichi owner of Sushi Koh.

Parking is small but plenty other spots you can park by and walk over and place fits a total of about 8-10 people. We didn’t make reservations and was able to get a seat for two.
Menu had a lot of choices from Specials, Ngiris, Handrolls, Donburi’s, and Dessert.

Service is a little slow as he is the only person running the show giving you that personal connection with him that the wife and I didn’t mind waiting. He was making everything to order and I eat a lot so I was making him work that the day we went in.

Food was great! Fish was fresh, and the size portion for the prices was shockingly reasonable especially when you get his donburi.

Ambiance was great, the place is very small that conversations flow through each guest and food is so good that everyone will be talking to each other asking what they ordered and that the order looks tasty.

Overall experience with Yoichi at Sushi Koh was great that the wife and I will be stopping in more and not having to drive to town for some authentic sushi.

“Loads of choices ranging from sushi, bentos, donburis, and noodles to satisfy any Japanese food craving while on a time crunch. It was relatively slow when we walked in, around 5 in the evening on a Friday, and the food came out really fast. Prices were decent as well.

The dynamite chicken donburi bowl was definitely the best thing we ordered. The chicken well seasoned and delicious with a tasty spicy mayo accompanying it on a well portioned bow of rice.
The poke bowl was lacking a little, as it missed a lot of other ingredients such as ogo and even sesame seeds, that make authentic Hawaiian poke, but it was still good quality tuna and had a bit of spice to it.
The spam sushi was good, as my son devoured it and the sushi rice used was made well with a tasty consistency.

The cashier at the counter was polite and didn’t forget to ask us about utensils and if we required wasabi or ginger for our order as well. Want to try other options next time!“

I ended up adding some extra veggies, soybeans, and sauce at our hotel to make It a more filling dinner. But everything was really delicious. It’s a small place with not much seating and no public bathroom, but Chuck E. cheese has bathrooms and it was not that busy each time I’ve been here. There’s a cool fish tank inside as well. Great spot that I will be coming back to“
