“Omakase was very good! There was a variety of sushi pieces and presentation was simple but carefully created! Atmosphere was quaint but roomy enough to the person sitting next to you. Domo Arigato Chef!!“
“Great family owned place with I love to support small family businesses. The tuna was fresh as well as good cuts. Eel was super delicious 😋! I would recommend this place to anyone here or visiting. I should have taken pictures but the sushi was to good for me to slow down. Parking is very easy at this location. Staff was very friendly and they give their own suggestions on what dishes to try.“

“One of the best culinary experiences I’ve had in such a long time. The tasting dish was so full of life and made with such care. Everything was delicious.
Even though we were 20 mins late to our resy, chef Aung was so gracious and welcomed us anyways. The vibes, the music, and the fact that we all were just hanging out made the experience something unforgettable.“

“Really cute omakase restaurant hidden and tucked away in the back corner. There were like 10 seats and 3 staff members, whom were all super friendly. We had the $100 omakase set and it came with all the premium goodies! Super happy with how fast the food comes out, the freshness and quality, and how delicious each piece tasted. Definitely going to be my go to omakase spot now.“

“Only go here if you’re interested in kind of a fancy experience. The lunch experience is about $100 per person. Expect an automatic 20% tip to be added in your bill before you receive it.
Consider this place as your appetizer, but not your full course meal. If you’re really hungry, this restaurant is not for you. It’ll burn a hole in your wallet.
All that being said, they serve fish that I’ve never found in a traditional sushi bar. I was pleasantly surprised by some of the unique flavors that I don’t usually get when I visit Tokyo. The waitress actually explains everything you’re eating. Definitely make reservations, as this is a very small boutique sushi bar with one large table and about half a dozen counter spaces.“

Chef Ray is incredibly talented and made the entire experience feel special. The staff were attentive, friendly, and provided top-notch service throughout the night. Truly the best sushi we’ve ever had! Easily a 5-star experience and a must-visit while in Hawaii!“

“Our first time here! It is one of the highlights of our trip to Hawaiʻi! From the moment we walked in, the staff was warm, welcoming, and attentive.
We ordered the beautifully presented Waikīkī bridge Sashimi, Dragon & Rainbow Rolls. No doubt everything was incredibly fresh. The salmon sashimi practically melted in my mouth, the tuna was buttery and flavorful, and every sushi roll was perfectly balanced. The presentation alone was impressive, but the quality of the fish made it even better.
Paired the meal with an ice-cold Sapporo beer, which was the perfect complement to the fresh sushi.
If you’re looking for authentic Japanese cuisine in Waikīkī with generous portions, excellent service, and beautifully prepared sushi, Furusato Sushi is a must-visit. We’ll definitely be back the next time we’re in Hawaiʻi!
Highly recommend! 🍣🍺🌺“

“Not far by car from Waikiki! I think this is the only place where you can get takeout and great taste at a reasonable price! I was surprised at how friendly the Korean owner was! When you eat it, you’ll be surprised twice by how delicious it is! If I get the chance, I want to come to Hawaii and eat there again! :)“

“The perfect little spot. I stopped in after a recommendation, and am so glad I did. The lovely lady running the place was so kind and helpful with what I should order, and made sure I enjoyed it, too. I got the Poke Bowl and loved every bite. There are two small tables right outside, or you can take your food to go. They're also open early, which was perfect for my jetlagged brain. Highly recommend!“

“My family stopped by when we visited Diamond Head and cafes near this restaurant to grab some light lunch. The food even from the cold self was so fresh and the texture of rice was perfect! Quality of sushi depends on rice mix, seaweed paper, and freshness of fish.
This store has all for sushi!! We really loved them! Stop by and grab some.👍🏻I only have one picture because I didn’t expect they were that much delicious to put on my review.
I recommend this store☺️“

“Incredible food and wait staff. The restaurant is close to many hotels but just enough off the main road that it is less crowded and has a quieter atmosphere. The sashimi was fantastic. The staff were very helpful and attentive. If I ever get the opportunity to I will definitely return.“

“The best Seafood Tempura in Hawaii! Scallops, calamari, shrimp, crab, ahi & assorted veggies. Light, crispy and cooked to perfection. Highly recommended!!! Ask for lemon & salt for all the seafood, if you want to take it to a higher level. I learned this from a tempura bar in Japan.“

“It was a genuine privilege to watch a master at his craft. The food was fresh and delicious, uniquely prepared in front of you. The restaurant is a discrete and intimate experience with only 10 seats (6 at the counter to watch the chef).

“Among all the Japanese restaurants we tried during our Hawaii trip, this was by far the best in terms of value for money. The seasoning was spot on, the sashimi was fresh, and it’s definitely a place I’d love to visit again. We sat on the outdoor terrace with a beautiful view, and the service was warm and friendly. “We were looking for a hip, modern sushi spot that would be a little different from the usual Japanese restaurant—and Kanoa Sushi Grill & Bar absolutely delivered! We brought our auntie here to celebrate her 90th birthday, and we wanted somewhere fun, fresh, and memorable. This place was perfect. The atmosphere was lively and unique, the food was outstanding, and the service was top-notch from start to finish. Everyone made us feel welcome and helped make the celebration really special. “Omakase is special here. Everything had an extra element of nuanced flavor and treatment that is uncommon if not rare to find in most other sushi restaurants. You can tell by the first plate you're presented as starters. Tiny place, so plan on getting to greet and chat with others. But the dinner I attended here we ran into only cute families with cute kids.“

“Fast service! Great people working there especially the girl that says Oki Day! After taking your order. Only they seem to tub out of Soba after 15:00 every time I visit. Perhaps they could cook more and have more on hand after 15:00. They are open till 21:00 aren't they?“

“They absolutely nailed everything we ordered. The ahi poke bowl, rainbow roll, tempura udon, and negi hamachi hand roll were all considerably better than what I’m used to having, and I eat at Japanese restaurants quite a bit. In fact, the ahi poke was easily the best I have ever had.“

“OMG what a sleeper foodie find! I was looking for a quick lunch place in the shopping center and thought I’d just grab a quick bento to go from this place… no way, once inside there’s so much more than sushi!
I perused the large sushi menu for a while before finally deciding on an already made bento of salmon collar. They offered a side of rice to go with it but I decided to go with cucumber sushi instead. I couldn’t help but look in their pastry fridge and immediately decided I had to have dessert - a super cute pair of lemon and strawberry tarts.
They also make boba tea to order, and offer a variety of desserts, from mango panna cotta to bagged cookies - feed that sweet tooth while you grab lunch or dinner!
So excited to find this place - you could bring a small or large group here, there’s great seating inside the restaurant.
Highly recommend this place if you’re deciding where to eat at this center!“

“Excellent sushi, to rival Seattle and Japan. Price is on par with global prices, yes there are cheaper options, but they were open on Friday after 3pm AND the quality is OUTSTANDING. Probably some of the best flavors my wife and I have had (We get sushi every where). The eel, smoked tobiko and the spicy ahi were THE BEST we have had. Compliments to the chef!
This neighborhood needs more places like this.“

“If you’re a true sushi lover, this place is an absolute must. From the moment you step inside, you’re greeted with warm hospitality that instantly feels like you’ve been welcomed into a traditional Japanese sushi-ya. The staff not only provide impeccable service — attentive, gracious, and prompt — but they also speak Japanese, adding an extra layer of authenticity that’s increasingly rare to find outside of Japan.
But let’s talk about the real star here: the sushi. The hand rolls are, without exaggeration, the best. The fish is impossibly fresh, the rice is seasoned to perfection, and the balance of flavors is masterful. Every bite is crafted with such care and precision that you can tell the chefs are true artisans of their craft.
What’s the catch? They close early — like, 3 PM early. And that’s honestly the only downside. It’s a bit of a heartbreak knowing something this incredible isn’t available for dinner. But if you can plan your day around it, you’ll be rewarded with a sushi experience that’s unforgettable.“

“Tucked away in the corner of a busy plaza, Honolulu Sushi at Ke’eaumoku feels like one of those rare hidden gems you almost want to keep to yourself—but it’s way too good not to share.
From the moment we walked in, we were welcomed so warmly—the owner is genuinely one of the nicest people you’ll meet, making the whole experience feel personal and inviting right away.
The nigiri sushi was hands down some of the best I’ve had—incredibly fresh, perfectly balanced, and crafted with so much care. Each piece just melts in your mouth, and you can truly taste the quality of the fish.
And the tempura? Absolutely flawless. Light, crisp, and not greasy at all—exactly how tempura should be. Every bite had that perfect crunch without overpowering the ingredients.
What really makes this place special is how it combines amazing food with heartfelt hospitality. It’s not flashy or overhyped—it’s just genuinely excellent.
Don’t let the tucked-away location fool you—this is easily one of the best sushi spots around. A true must-visit, and I’ll definitely be coming back!“

“Banger hole in the wall. Delicious rolls and great value for the money. It’s on the ground floor of a tiny office building, seemingly a one person operation, and a home grown feel to it which is refreshing. The woman running it when we were there was kind and patient.
