“I took my fiancée here on a date. It is probably in both of our top 5 dates at this point. we have talked about the wine made here every other day for the past 2 weeks. I strongly recommend the tasting but if you don't have the time, at least pick up a bottle of Black Forest Port if it's in season, and of course the Coconut Sauvignon Blanc, it is a must have in my wine collection. True artisans with great service! My fiancée said she wished they did a wine and paint class or something like that, she would be a regular. We will be there again very soon. :)”
“Went to the new location in Kaneohe and the brisket and pulled pork was anazing! I'm giving them four stars because the wait was an hour long wait and my elderly parents were tired and famished by the time food was ready.”
“This is Korea ㅠㅠ Be sure to eat the beef stew and ribs!! Eat it twice!!! The boss is also very friendly. The food tastes much better than what I ate in Korea. I can't describe this taste. If I lived here, I would eat all 3 meals a day here haha.”

“Amazing hidden gem of a place. Had the Steak and noodles. It was hot and delicious, placed my order and it came up right away. The shrimp are huge and very good. All the plates are very good, meat is tender and cooked to perfection. Just a really solid spot.

“The Food Company is amazing in that it offers an expansive menu, PLUS the best service and kindness in working with special current food restrictions. The food for our recent party with guests from our islands, plus mainland cities and Australia, called for varied tastes. The Food Company offered perfect selections, getting raves!! Everything was delicious. Fair prices and excellent value!!”

“I went to Lilikoi Kitchen with a dear friend for brunch over the weekend and was very pleasantly surprised! We were immediately greeted by Laura who told us about the history of the restaurant and the chef’s dream of owning a cafe, and then introduced us to all of the staff there at the time. She listened to my dietary restrictions and helped me select something that I could eat and would love. Everything we ate and drank (PSL was so good, much better than Starbucks) was exceptional. If they started offering mimosas they would be the perfect ladies brunch locale! We will definitely be back.”
“Dietary restrictions: Their sambhar and chutneys are all Jain as they don't use onions or garlic in either of those. Was amazed to find a place like this in Hawaii!”
“When I was inside I feel the camels ? where outside waiting ?. This place definitely make me feel in a Middle East . In my personal opinion .
I was with a friend and she explain me the menu.. I found this menu hard to interpret, in my experience. The food was amazing.
I like the decoration and the way the restaurant is setup”
“Wonderful experience, Korean Steak entree was amazing and Fresh Fish entree with macadamia nut pesto was delicious. Excellent service and vibe. Highly recommend.”

“We come every time we visit Kailua. Our fav is the cold noodle. Absolutely amazing! We try to get something similar in Las Vegas where we live but cannot even come close!”
“Food was good except we bought 2 brown butter chocolate chip cookies on the way out & they were very dry & tasted old. Disappointing after a good meal. Usually they are fantastic, but not tonight. We threw it away after a bite- terrible for a $4 cookie”
“Romantic , food was ok ! Butterfish was amazing but the garlic shrimp was only three pieces of shrimp on doughy cheese balls I expected more shrimp or veggies ! Noise in the afternoon not bad ! Presentation good Would have to try more of the menu but will never order the shrimp again”
“Found this place on Google maps while looking for a dinner spot. Was able to get a reservation for a time we wanted. The place was great. We at outside were able to look at Ko'olau during our dinner. All the food we ordered was great. My Chirashi deluxe finally came out after everyone else had finished their meals. Which was a bit disappointing. But the manager did comp our drinks.”
“I had originally ordered a delivery through DoorDash, but some of my order was missing. I called them and he was so kind and willing to help make sure I was happy. He helped me think of ways to make the problem right, even if it had been on DoorDash, and not on their restaurant. I went to pick up a replacement item and he was very understanding and totally wanting to help make me satisfied. Very friendly staff. And amazing food!”
“Dim sum and other goodies delivered straight from the bakery Sing Cheong Yuan every morning! No need to drive into town to enjoy the delicious food now! ? will make this a regular stop.”
“Really awesome place we came here to eat and had some awesome drinks .we met the executive chef Luis Axalan he was very nice explaining the concept and he was very helpful explaining the food items . We also tried the Chef’s Special salmon crostini was the best we ever had. The pork Bao buns is to die for!!!! 10/10 for all the food . The drinks were very good also . We will definitely come back . Kailua peeps come down and check them out ..”
“Food is spectacular! The chef’s work is art work. Friend of mine recommended that I try the bruschetta. She also told me to go during their Happy Hour, as their menu is 50% off from 2pm to 6pm. It is definitely a twist from the regular bruschetta you typically imagine. This is like bruschetta on steroids! It was delicious and eye candy.
The restaurant itself is comfortable and inviting, artwork (that you can purchase) adorns the walls and showcases island life and scenes. The iconic Mokulua Islands are featured in a couple of them.
Our waitresses (also bartenders) Macy and Malia were quite gracious and knowledgeable about wines. The kitchen is open and you can watch the chefs as the prepare your meal. I’m definitely going back to try more of their dishes.”
“Great place to eat some great quality bar food and drink some great beer. Would recommend this location. Space is rather large but wish the seating was a little bit more open so that it isn’t as crowded in one specific part of the room. However, the beer variety is unmatchable and the flavor of the food is great. This is a very nice place to spend an evening if you are looking for a casual dining-in experience in Kailua town.”
“Food was a solid 4/5; big portions and really good. My wife got the garlic chicken and I got the teri chicken. Only complaint would be that the chicken was close to 50% skin. Everything was delicious and very fresh. Service was streamlined, no smiles but very efficient.”
“As a first time visitor to the Aloha state of Hawaii I was very impressed with the music, atmosphere, food, and the employees were AWESOME! Our waitress Josslyn was EXTREMELY AWESOME with her services. MAHALO SO MUCH FOR THE BEST RESTAURANT FOOD EVER.”
“As a native Californian - I miss some good Mexican food when I’m away for long trips. This place scratched that itch and then some! It is similar to a fast casual build your own burrito place (like chipotle) but so much better! Great flavors in the chicken and steak! Wish they had more locations on the island!”
Takeout Restaurants
“The open atmosphere and kindness you receive goes a long way in my book! Plus the Coffee and events are fantastic!”
“We decided to grab some coffee before a run, and wanted to do something (hopefully) better than generic Starbucks..what a great choice! The mochas were delicious and just the kick we needed, and the coffee cake was rich in flavor and so yummy. No better spot to enjoy than their comfy couches and chill vibes inside. Very fair price points compared to some coffee joints - and the ladies taking our order and preparing food and drink were simply delightful. Keep up the hard work y'all, you're killin it!”
“finally the best coffee in hawaii. it's a shame that I don't put the coffee in a mug but in a paper cup and the cafe is close to a busy street, but otherwise there's nothing to complain about. service perfect. ice cream, maybe even better than what we have in Europe.”
“It tasted different from FLORIDA.but other wise it okay”
“Very prompt service and the staff is very friendly, cheerful and attentive I love the lilikoi chiffon and the boneless Kalei plate lunch. Very satisfied with the customer service”
“order an avocado burger
The burgers have numbers written on them, so it was easy to order by just looking at the number.
The hamburger meat was juicy and delicious! I ordered it with the intention of sharing it between two people, and they cut it for me.
There is also a set menu of fries and a drink, and you can change the drink to a soft drink or beer for an additional fee.
I had the Kona Beer IPA and was very satisfied.
The parking lot is in the back, and even if it's full, there's a supermarket nearby, so it's easy to park.
The restroom was in the back, but was it just a coincidence? The door was locked. There is also a supermarket here, so you don't have to worry.”
“Amazing amazing breakfast place in the whole town. Highly recommend the Acai Bowl tropical & Avocado toast!
Parking: There is a dedicated free parking lot with about 10 spots. There must be more parking spots around the strip mall.”
“Top notch poke bowls, good selection of local flavors. Know it’s good when walk in the door and cutting off slabs of tuna as someone who fishes for a living I love that!”
“Love this place! Staff are friendly the place is neat and clean and the Acai bowls and smoothies are delicious! The prices are very reasonable, too! A negative is not just having to pay for parking, but actually finding a spot in that area.....it is def worth the time and money!!! My new favorite place in Kailua.”
“Great spot to get a meal with fresh HEALTHY ingredients. Take out only. Some outdoor seating in front of the location, so you can enjoy a meal with a small group. Their sammies hit the spot! ?
Kid-friendliness: Kid's menu options
Wheelchair accessibility: It is located at a strip mall that has handicap parking with buffer zone (if it's available). Ramps leading onto the walkway along the structure.”

“This bar is a good street side location, and has an excellent happy hour special each day of the week. You can’t beat the happy hour special prices, $12 for a draft beer and burger/tacos/pulled pork etc. depending on the day, the pulled pork is my favorite. Excellent draft selection of local beers. Dog friendly lanai. Staff are also very friendly. Our favorite place for happy hour in Kailua.”
“I had originally ordered a delivery through DoorDash, but some of my order was missing. I called them and he was so kind and willing to help make sure I was happy. He helped me think of ways to make the problem right, even if it had been on DoorDash, and not on their restaurant. Drive-Thru Restaurants
“I love the retro vibe in the sit-down section. The food (all-day breakfast omelette) must have been good as I forgot to take a photo.
My partner enjoyed the vegetarian chili.
Vegetarian options: Vegetarian Chili
Vegetarian tofu burger”
“My wife and I have been eating Taco Bell for 3+ years and this is the best/highest quality Taco Bell we’ve ever eaten at. The crew is always so nice and they’ve never gotten my order wrong, I do a lot of substitutions. Also the food is always fresh and good, never tastes like it was left out.Glen Bell himself would be proud of this restaurant and her crew. If I could give more stars I would!”
“Gentleman working the drive thru made sure that my order was correct before I got to the window, and once again before taking my payment. I ordered with some extra of one thing and none of another, so he wanted to make sure it was done right. I really appreciated that. Food tasted amazing and was just as I had requested!”
“Kailua location on Kuulei Road is horrible. Hardly ever get my order correct, drive-tru lines are crazy long. Always seems to be short staffed.”
“Went to McDonalds Enchanted Lakes and had Valerie taking my order. She was so helpful and courteous. I was having trouble ordering. She was so patient and helpful. Thank you Valerie. You sure made my end a good way. See you next time when I visit McDonald's. Visited 7/32018 about 6:30 pm.”
“It's on base so I did have high expectations, however, they were not met, at least at 1st. We ordered on the self serve kiosk. A young lady came out and told us that the shake my husband wanted was not available and she did offer a couple of options, however, she was not clear in those options. As such, I went to the front counter to talk to a manager. The manager was fabulous and fixed everything so based on her service it would have been 5 stars!”
“I ate here on my recent trip to Kona. I was happy to find the same menu items that I’m used to on the mainland. The quality and taste of the food were also in line with what I’m used to at home. This place seems like a good value for money compared to some other places I ate at in Kona. I didn’t get a fortune cookie with my meal though, which I’m used to getting at home. Not a big deal, but I noticed.”
“As burger king goes it a good place. But you can tell they had to implement protection policies because of stupid people. Soda Fountain closed, needing a key to use the bathroom.”
“Stopped here on St. Patrick's Day for lunch after hitting the beach in the morning. Found it by looking up places quick on Google. Had a decent menu and all of our food was good. Was only one waitress in the place - and she did a good job handling how busy it was. Worth a stop by if you are in the area.”
“First time in Hawaii but Buzzes is a great restaurant that has great food and drinks. The staff is outstanding the are really nice and caring for there customers. I will definitely come back to buzzes. I will definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone that comes and visits that ms never been to Hawaii.”
“been eating here for over 20 years and they are friendly and consistent with everything. best pad thai n cashew nut chicken ever!!!”
Cheap Eats
“K and K Bbq is a cozy hole in the wall place not too far from the Kailua and Lanikai beaches. A nice family run business and very kind hosts.
Garlic chicken is nice and crispy with a good touch of garlic. Our serving was a little salty but overall delicious garlic chicken. Not a saucy garlic chicken like other places but almost like a dry rub garlic chicken.
Loco moco was delicious too. Paired with their Mac salad and rice, it was a good choice after a day at the beach.
Price is good for the portion size that you get for your meal.
Ample parking in their parking lot but currently no restrooms available. Port a potties located out in parking lot.”
“This dish was so wisely ordered, it was really delicious. The cake is stuffed with meat, and the taste is very mild and refreshing. The last bite is still delicious.”
“I literally had the best tacos ever. Ordered 2 birria tacos and they were amazing. It’s true it’s kind of expensive 6.5$ for a taco but don’t buy if you can’t afford. Definitely a treat. They guys were nice too”
“Seth at the burger stand knows how to build a solid burger. A bit pricey but fair given the convenience, proximity to the beach, and the excellent service. Mahalo Kalapawai staff ??”
“I didn't know that Boots & Kimo was closed on a day, so I went in because there were a lot of people! The owner is so kind and the restaurant is delicious! The rolls, rice, and rice noodles were all delicious. I recommend it!”
“Had a couple beers. They were very good.”
“The food portions are amazing and the food is excellent This is a family owned restaurant and they are such wonderful people Recommend this place to everyone”
“The Elderberry syrup is the absolute best I’ve had and the cocoa immunity elixir was magic mood boosting mylk that I’m still thinking about weeks after drinking it.”
“Enjoyed the pastries we bought. My wife loved the spinach bread. I love supporting locals and will continue to come here when I'm in Kailua. I just wished they didn't sell out so early.I had the chocolate donut which had the perfect chewy consistency and the chocolate was nice and rich. I'd definitely eat a few of those the next time.Support local and swing by this small bakery that's been around since the 90s.”
“Lovely little place. Delicious food and smoothies. Yummy dessert options too. They do charge you extra surcharge to sit with a group more than 5 (even though there’s no table service) which seems a bit dodgy!”
“I pickup for DoorDash and Uber here all the time and the young ladies that work here are always so expeditious and sweet. I really appreciate that. Food is good too!”
“Boba shop with a multitude of choices, a claw machine, and merch in the back that adds to the fun of being here. The staff is helpful and friendly and the Bobas we got, Mango Pomelos Sago and Midnight Tea, were delicious. I liked the brulee cheese foam on the Midnight Tea.Definitely coming back here.”
“If you are REALLY HUNGRY, this place will serve you well. I ordered a bbq chicken dish, there three large chicken meat with some veggies, macaroni, two scoops of rice. Quality wise it was OK, not very special but not bad at all. Just a bit salty...”
“She was incredibly nice and caring. Throughout the entirety of my life i have Never seen someone so caring before. She even gave me two free cookies for me and my boyfriend after our meal. I've never met anyone so kind before!”
“Wonderful! I placed the order online, and it was to my hotel door in like 20 minutes. And it is delicious! Unlike other locations, they baked my pizza well-done without baking the cheese sticks well-done. A+
Vegetarian options: They have veggies and are very accommodating to all requests.
Parking: It's a big old parking lot shared with the main exchange and the commissary.
Wheelchair accessibility: There are no steps, so wheelchair friendly!”
“Weird that there are so many negative reviews. I eat here at least once a year when visiting and the experience has been pretty consistent over several years. The most consistent negative thing I could parse out from other reviews that I agree with is the looseness of the rolls. The nori is not tight and sometimes is broken, which results in the roll partially falling apart. While not something the restaurant would want to happen, it really only detracts from presentation. The fish is always good - never had anything that was old, slimy, fishy, or anything else some of the other reviews say. I get a huge variety of platters including nigiri, specialty rolls, and poke, so I feel like it’s an adequate mix of their offerings. The menu is varied and should have something for everyone. There are no written descriptions of the rolls or platters. They rely on pictures on the menu (which I uploaded as of September 2023), but they’ll explain it all if you call or enter the shop.In summary, if you’re in the area and have a hankering for some good sushi, Waipuna Sushi is a great choice. If you want poke, the Food Land down the road is a better choice, but Waiapuna’s (limited) poke choices are serviceable.
Wheelchair accessibility: Ramps exist to access sidewalk to entrance”

“It was a little confusing entering and trying to figure out if it was open seating bc there was no one to approach us for seating. There’s two selections of seating one in the bar and the other in the restaurant side. We ended up getting the restaurant side bc it was a little bit quieter. But the our waitress was great and our food was delicious ? I would recommend the pizza and the pasta ? the pizza crust was really good ??☺️ highly recommend.”

“Guac was definitely store bought.
Salsa is actually marinara. kinda wish it came with garlic knots from Boston’s.
Rice was definitely an Asian fusion.
Heads up Salsa $3 on the menu $4.50 on the bill. Server was really sweet! Great service.”
“Aside from great food, Shar who helo us makes this dinner special to celebrate our wedding anniversary and hubby's birthday. Her friendly attitude and helped us to enjoy our food.”
