Bowles Burritos has become my favorite Mexican restaurant in Kailua. It was recommended by a fellow employee, so we all went there for lunch. The burritos are large - most in our group took half home for dinner. I had the chicken enchiladas and enjoyed them. Had them again on my next visit. Had the chicken salad on my third visit. Like Subway, you order by selecting each topping. I was worried because I didn't know how to order, but the staff was very kind and gave me instructions, so I was able to order successfully. I ate a taco, a burrito, and a quesadilla each, and I was able to add beans, rice, vegetables, cheese, sauce, etc. to my taste.The kalua pork in the burrito and the shredded chicken in the quesadilla were as soft as canned tuna. First time customer at this joint. Off the whim choice based on being up on MCBH from JBPHH. Very easy to order if you just follow the steps. Good prices for the island and the best part...the food was delicious. We got two bowls and two burritos with 4 cans of pop. With tip, came out to ~$60. The kalua pork was so good. Also tried the guava BBQ sauce which was totally worth it. Highly recommend this spot!!! We'll be going again when if it's a drive.
