“Just like their breakfast place (Over Easy) a block away in Kailua, the food is so tasty. The husband and wife team (owners) are formally trained chefs. They do a remarkable job on creating specialty dishes, as well as making basic menu items a cut above the norm. Hubby loves their Portuguese sausage and brisket dinner and I love their pulled pork.“
“I got the mahi mahi plate, blackened and it was INCREDIBLE! The restaurant was clean, service was fast and friendly. Loved having the malt vinegar with my fries. The coleslaw paired so well with the fish. The selection of dipping sauces (ketchup, tartar sauce, and magic sauce) were the perfect finishing touches.“
“My wife and I are visiting Hawaii from Canada. We just completed the Kailua Pillbox hike and thought we deserved a coffee and pastry. The cafe is warm and inviting and the young lady working the coffee bar was very pleasant and welcoming. The blueberry scones were delicious and the cappuccinos were the best we’ve ever tasted in the USA. Wait. That makes me sound like a coffee snob. Let me change that to, “I have never enjoyed a coffee more in the States!”“
“Restaurants in KailuaWhen I go to Oahu, I go there for breakfast. The ``Lilikoi pancake'' is especially recommended. Although there is volumeThe sauce is refreshing and easy to enjoy. In addition to pancakes, there are morning sets,Enjoy crispy bacon, lilikoi pancakes, and egg dishes. You'll have to wait a little while to get in, so it's better to go early.“
“Stopped in here, based on previous reviews. The food was great, but the lady working the entrance was so sweet & happy which is what really made my experience! It's connected to the tattoo shop, so I walked by it a few times, but was a lovely experience!“
“When a place has a sign that says world famous tacos I don't even take it serious anymore, but if there is a world famous award this place deserves it. We really struggled to find their location, seemed post covid it wasn't regularly updated, on a whim found their location on Instagram at a distillery so we hustled over there. The shrimp and rice in the pineapple was beyond amazing, pretty sure I licked the fork when I ran out of shrimp. The Thai chicken tacos were very good as well but I'm not a sour cream fan so I had them without sour cream. Can't say enough great things about the food and service, just hard to find.“
“This is the BEST spot on the windward side of Oahu for hearty BBQ and smoked meats and meals.I have the pulled pork plate every time I get take out from here & the staff is so sweet, helpful and friendly every visit. And the variety of BBQ sauces is like no other. Delicious!Go here and try Whiskey Smoke 808“
“Loved this little shop, was craving shave ice and this place had just what we were looking for. Such a simple shave ice but so good, service was quick and full of aloha. Lots of local candies available. Such a nice vibe and worth the visiting!“
“One of my favorite poke places in Oahu! Their poke is absolutely delicious, and I always love to take it to Kailua beach for lunch. I really enjoy their salmon poke, and my boyfriend likes their spicy ahi. Everyone is also friendly and their service is great!“
“Le Crepe Café in Kailua is a true delight, where the warm service and exceptional crepes—be they savory or sweet—always exceed expectations. Its ambiance, unpretentious yet utterly charming, makes every visit feel like a special occasion. Highly recommended, this spot encapsulates the welcoming aloha spirit, ensuring a memorable experience with every bite. Highly recommend?“
“Absolutely delicious food, and most of the menu is naturally gluten free. Don't miss this great little spot if you're in the area. And the drinks are incredible. One of the best mojitos ever!Dietary restrictions: Gluten free options“
“I love this location! The staff are so friendly! This is the best boba I’ve found in Kailua and it makes me happy to give $$ to nice owners. They seem to care a lot about what you want, they have specials and new orders and I love the selection of snacks. It’s clean too!“
“Stopped by for happy hour on a Thursday. Was not busy at all. Got seated outdoors and served drinks and appetizers pretty quickly. Everything was great. Food came out at a great time giving us plenty of time to chat before eating. Plenty of menu items, would definitely go back.Parking: Parking garage is one block away and very limited street parking on site“
“So far the best authentic Mexican food my family has found on the island & love that it’s family and local owned. The atmosphere is also decorated really nice for Christmas. The only downfall is only having virgin margaritas so next time, we’ll just make sure to BYOB!Also, the best fried ice cream I’ve ever had :)Cheers!Kid-friendliness: The restaurant had a blow up snowman for Christmas which was a huge hit for our kids! Very family friendly where we would be comfortable making us regular customers“
“Bowles Burritos has become my favorite Mexican restaurant in Kailua. It was recommended by a fellow employee, so we all went there for lunch. The burritos are large - most in our group took half home for dinner. I had the chicken enchiladas and enjoyed them. Had them again on my next visit. Had the chicken salad on my third visit. (Yes, I love their chicken - so juicy). The employees are very friendly. It was such an enjoyable and delicious experience! We'll definitely go back when we have another employee outing!“
“Really a nice, friendly little cafe. The food is excellent. A pure delight. The staff is exceptional, and very helpful. Value for money is very good. The ideal place to relax, work and drink a succulent macha and eat a pain au chocolat yumm????“
“Haven't had a burger in a while so I researched local spots to ensure I wasn't disappointed and I'm so glad I didn't settle. The burgers were filling and very tasty. Fresh avocado and cheese with lettuce, pickles, tomatoes and sauce. The bacon bbq burger was full of favor too. The burgers were not overcooked, medium rare was perfect! The best part was they weren't nearly as expensive as I'd expect for Kailua area. Excellent value and great taste have made this my new "go to" spot for burgers.“
“Went here friday afternoon to get the keiki and kupuna out the house for something new and healthy during spring break. Sistah answered all my moms many questions and explained whatever she didnt understand. She even added suggestions on what was super ono. We got a kalo bowl and mana bowl (both had kulolo ??) and ube waffles…. we got a waffle trio to-go after tasting the ube waffles. Even had couple mangos for sale so I had to get couple of those too ??. Vibe was nice. Not crowded at all and the kids kept occupied with cornhole while we waited for our order which they brought to our table when it was ready. Such a chill and welcoming vibe. So glad we went, will definitely be back.“
“Great local pizza in Kailua. All the other pizza places don't take orders past a certain point, but I've never had a problem with Bob's! They're always there to take your order and offer quality service! Construction is going on down that street, but their business is still open!!Parking: Free parking in front of pizza place. Can be difficult to find parking if it's busy, but otherwise you'll be able to find a spot. There's construction going on down that street but their business is still open!“
“They accommodated our party of 12 last minute although short staffed. Everyone enjoyed their dinner.Returning home for the holiday from SF and Chicago, we would like to say...Aloha and Mahalo nui loa, for your excellent service and ono food.Hau'oli La Ho'omaikai Big City Diner!“
“must haves—calamari steak, cajun-rubbed prime rib . . . even though it is a steak place, i was disappointed with the ribeye i got here before . . . however, the calamari & cajun style prime rib were very good, as well as the caesar salad & asparagus . . . i'd come here again for that, but not sure i'm willing to splurge on a choice cut ribeye again“
“Acai Monkey is my go-to and has been for 5 years. I love this place so much! Especially after a solid hike. The Java the Hut plays to my nerdy-kid Star Wars loving side, so don't skimp out on that. I've heard that "if you aren't doing that, you're doing it wrong!!" ♥️“
“Had a great time! The food was awesome, the cocktails were creative, fun and delicious, and our server made recommendations that were helpful for how much food to order! We ended up getting all small plates and can't wait to try an entree next time!“
“What a great find!! Ended up using Yelp to find a breakfast spot close to the beach we were exploring and SO GRATEFUL we found Over Easy!! The food was amazing..My wife had a strawberry biscuit special which she loved..I went basic with pancakes & bacon but there was nothing basic about the food..The pancakes were HUGE but so delicious..And I'm a huge fan of crispy well-done bacon and the chef delivered as requested..You have to check this quaint family-feel location - you won't be disappointed“
