“Great lunch for $11Waikiki is full of expensive restaurants, and the prices are soaring that the service and quality don't match, so if you have a car, you'll want to eat in the suburbs as much as possible. It was very delicious and I was very satisfied.“
“Awesome beach on the windward side. There's a military checkpoint at the entrance, so it's only accessible if you have military ID. Because of this, it won't get too crowded and not so much riff-raff.Secure area with a large, shaded pavilion and lots of tables. Full bathrooms (not nasty porta potties) and outside showers. Definitely family friendly. Waves on this side of the island are pretty mild to moderate later in the year. Soft sand, warm, blue water, and the occasional jellyfish. Watch out. So darn good, though. Top 3 beach on this island for me.“

“When driving on Oahu, I stopped in front of Kailua. Two big cheeseburgers and a drink at the store for $10! I ordered this with emphasis on cost performance. We ate the finished food in the eat-in space next to the counter. The most important cheeseburger was mediocre. I think there would have been some special impressions if the sauce had been solid, but isn't this something like a sauce? The taste is just patty, cheese, and a slightly salty taste. My honest impression was that the second one was a little hard to eat.The atmosphere is Hawaiian loco! That was nice, but honestly it didn't feel clean.“

“What a great find!! Ended up using Yelp to find a breakfast spot close to the beach we were exploring and SO GRATEFUL we found Over Easy!! The food was amazing..My wife had a strawberry biscuit special which she loved..I went basic with pancakes & bacon but there was nothing basic about the food..The pancakes were HUGE but so delicious..And I'm a huge fan of crispy well-done bacon and the chef delivered as requested..You have to check this quaint family-feel location - you won't be disappointed“

“My wife and I loved this cute little place. It takes time for your burger because it takes time for goodness. The truffle fries are a must. The burger is very favorable. The bun holds up to all the toppings. That is a big deal. You have to put in a lot of thought to make a good burger. They have done this.“

“Stopped by for a drink after lunch here. Ordered a Brown Sugar Milk Tea with Boba. The boba was a good texture, easy to get in and out of the straw and not too chewy. The milk tea was just the right sweetness. Not too much ice either, which is a common issue I have. Store is very cutely decorated. Lots of pink. There's a flowery wall that you can take a selfie in front of. Staff is friendly and the service is pretty quick. They have a system that calls out your order number so you do need to pay attention. Depending on what you order it may take extra time to come out - yogurt drinks seem to take longer.“
“This place is fantastic! Food tasted amazing, drinks are creative, service excellent, enjoyed sitting at the street bar, watching everyone walk by. I'm so confused why this place isn't busier. We loved the shiitake bao buns, poke, and tempura cauliflower. It was too much food for 2 people and the bill was under &100 with drinks. I wish we could return but we have to leave Hawaii and go back to reality.“

“This place was right up the street from our hotel. We had heavy local food for 2 days. The grilled seafood options in wagon 1 were large and the price was better than most places in the area. Live local music and fast service sealed the deal. 2 ate with a tip for $45 and we were full“

“There is a lot to admire here and well worth a visit. Owner Brian Burik is passionate about coffee and works closely with multiple local growers to obtain the best quality beans. Tradition recently opened a cafe onsite as previously operated only a roastery. The caffe latte was prepared elegantly and crafted in a medium roast style. I will confess to liking dark French toasts with Italian espresso notes. Premises are clean and industrially oriented. A very kind, professional young lady, Amber - Tradition’s first employee - provided a short tour including descriptions of the roasting process and each type of bean. Thank you Amber! The business is being built up via a series of onsite events as per attached picture. There is also a store in a loft area that offers quality local art, pottery and fused glass objets d’art for sale. Plenty of beans and coffee paraphernalia available for taking home and gifts. Brian is a retired FDNY first responder with his regalia adorning the premises and product names with FD themes. The scenic drive to get there is special as well. A 4 star review from me is a strong rating and I endorse this establishment which deserves your business.“

“This place is tucked away downstairs but soooo worth finding! The lobster rolls are the best I have ever had! No fillers- just lobster meat and butter on a toasted bun, side of aoli, chips and slaw for 29.99. It was a whole lobster! So good! A+++++“

“We loved Castro's so much we ended up having brunch there twice on a week long trip last month. My husband has been joking about flying back to Honolulu just to get breakfast there again! The presentation AND the food were both exquisite. The homemade carambola pickles accompanying our sandwiches- beautiful AND surprisingly tasty. The fruit served was generous, perfect and thoughtfully arranged, whether as part of a granola plate or as a side. Service was efficient and professional. And they pull a wonderfully authentic cortadito. Get one of the outside tables under an umbrella and enjoy the view of the Ainahau Triangle park at Fort Derussy. We look forward to going back to Castro's the next time we're on the island.“

“TLDR: 10/10 recommend the Carne Asada burrito and Carne Asada Quesadilla.Wanted to wait until I was able to visit a few times before making a review. But this place has some of the best burritos in town. 10/10 would recommend if visiting from the west coast and wanting that authentic style burritos. Also they have great homemade salsas to choose from that pair very well with each dish. Also highly recommend the quesadillas if you aren’t in the mood for a burrito.Parking: I recommend parking in the Whole Foods parking lot and walking across the street.“

“One of the best restaurants in Honolulu by far. They do a great job of providing a contemporary Hawaiian dining experience that draws on the islands’ diverse culinary influences without feeling contrived. Each dish was unique and well balanced with fresh, local produce at the forefront.I absolutely loved the peanut tofu which has a creamy consistency that’s almost like a soft cheese. The Sichuan lotus root with rainbow carrots was also so delicious, as was the buttered ulu with a savoury kick of fermented soybeans. And one of my favourite of all was the perfectly chewy, savoury mapo tofu rice cakes. Drinks are great too - you can’t go wrong with any of the cocktails. The dining environment is also really pleasant and staff were nice and well informed about the menu. It’s slightly on the pricy end but well worth the cost.“

“My husband loves their shrimp and grits. We had breakfast there once and returned for dinner. Food is good. I believe the husband is running the establishment with his wife and when we had dinner, their young kids were there too. Daddy was doing the cooking while mommy was mining the customers and they both the children. This made my heart smile. Trying to run a business with young kids, not easy. Family core, much respect.“

“Wanted something a "Little Sweet" and found it. The taro mochi violet was excellent. Not to sweet and just right. The guy that was working the front was very helpful and even gave us a sample of some amazing soon to come to the menu item. He was so happy when we told him we loved our items! Can't wait to go again.“
“This place is a tiny little shack in a parking lot and it really packs a punch. We parked at the Taco Bell and walked to it. The girl working was super nice and told us about what was in the drinks. I got the coconut cloud chai which has some spiciness but more as an after flavor. The coconut cream is super yummy. My husband got a vanilla bean and brown sugar latte and it was great. Defiantly recommend going here.“

“Just like their breakfast place (Over Easy) a block away in Kailua, the food is so tasty. The husband and wife team (owners) are formally trained chefs. They do a remarkable job on creating specialty dishes, as well as making basic menu items a cut above the norm. Hubby loves their Portuguese sausage and brisket dinner and I love their pulled pork.“

“Great place to grab some shaved ice if you’re in the area. Walking distance from hotels and a bunch of cute shops. The staff was very kind, and our favorite was definitely the Sunset with the li hing powder. I would even ask for extra li hing if you’re really into it. Definitely recommend!“

“Kids wanted dessert after brunch. This a great real fruit topping option spot for shave ice instead of the sugary syrups at all other shave ice stores. It's a tiny little location on a busy street so you have to know where you are going. There's only 1 or 2 workers and the toppings are made fresh so there is a little wait. But it's all worth it in the end to get real fruit and unique toppings.“

“This place is amazing. My family vacationed in Hawaii not too long ago and the food there was good but most places were expensive. This place however not only has good food but their prices are more affordable for everyone. And they make everything to order. So you know it will be made with care and heart.“

“Exploring around O’ahu and found this hidden gem. I love the menu in this local vegan store that is family run, making the atmosphere friendly! I primarily ordered their food, but apparently you can also do groceries with them. You can also order with free delivery around the island too. The food that we ordered was purely delicious and I would not hesitate going back here again (I just wished they were closer to where we were staying!). I also love their “Where are you from?” wall, and coming from Boston area, we certainly were amazed by the different people that have come and ordered vegan meals at the place. They have desserts and coffee too (we ordered the “Nutella” mocha and hibiscus tea), which complimented our meals.“

“Been going here since they opened, and it is at least just as good, maybe better. ..and it continues to be my family fav. My dad loves the tuna salad sandwich, I love the Mala Salad with Shrimp. We really like the chicken salad in sandwiches and salads for when we feel like a change. It is so nice to have a healthy organic alternative in our neighborhood. I only wish they could make their really awesome salad dressing without soybean oil mayo and substitute in avocado mayo instead.“

“My favorite place to get coffee! Cute little shop with welcoming workers who are very kind and efficient. This shop also has a cute outdoor seating area. “This was my favourite shave ice spot of the four I tried during my visit to Ohau. It’s a bit more expensive than the others, but the portion is big, and the flavours were delicious. The syrups used in the ones I’ve tried didn’t have that artificial taste, and the shave ice had a delicate fluffy texture. I tried the Heavenly Lilikoi, and Pink Island, but you’re free to create your own flavour combinations. This is a kiosk set up in the bustling heart of Waikiki, where you are required to place your order on the tablet set up at the front, and when your order is ready they will call out your name for pick up. Other than that, there’s no real interaction with the people who work here. However, they were quite efficient, and the wait was never too long. I also noticed that they’re usually busier in the evening with longer lines compared to the afternoon.“

“Very popular stop along east scenic drive, worth a stop. Ordered Luau pig, their chicken long rice resembles Asian chicken rice noodle, super flavorful. On top of that, their sweet lady comes with a blend of ice-cream and coconut milk based dessert but not super sweet in western standards of dessert. Highly recommended chicken long rice if you are rice noodle fan and their sweet lady on a humid Hawaiian summer.“

“The price wasn't too expensive, and the atmosphere was great, allowing us to relax and eat on the beach while watching the sunset. The steak era was also very delicious. However, there are a lot of pigeons around, so if you give it to them, they will flock to you.(When a nearby tourist gave them food, about 20 birds flocked to us, and they also came here to beg for food.)“

“Tried out this Hawai'i exclusive flavor called "The Cream." So good, 5/5. If you like Ube, you need to get this. It comes with ube, condensed milk, Rice Krispies, and graham crackers mixed in. Every bite has a slight nutty taste to it while still being creamy and having the ube flavor. Would love to get this flavor again as no other locations seem to have it. Service was good, nothing to complain about.“

“I’ll start by saying I have not had the gold standard of Maine lobster rolls. But I grew up in the PNW eating fresh shell fish of all kinds. This buttered lobster roll was delicious. It had a heaping amount of juicy lobster. The bun was toasted and held up well against the amount of butter. Wasn’t soggy. (I’d eat it right away though… might not be fabulous for take out.)You order at the inside window and then pick up and eat at the picnic tables on the patio. You can see it when you first turn into ward center. Right next to Rodger Dunn golf store. Food came out in less than 10 minutes. The staff was happy and friendly. After I finished eating, one of the girls asked how everything was and was genuinely happy to see that we enjoyed it.Worth the $20 for the roll. Especially considering this is Honolulu and the amount of lobster that was included.Parking: 3 levels of parking at ward center. It’s tight. But it’s free. Never have I not found a spot, even when busy.“

“I was a bit skeptical at first as I thought all shaved ice was created equal. This place has ice that comes out in what I would describe as ribbons, giving it a bit different texture than any other shaved ice you’ve had. I went with the mango option and it was fantastic. Make sure you ask for the condensed milk to be poured on top, as it’s a little known secret. The service was fast and friendly. A great treat while you’re basking in the sun of the Hawaiian beaches.“

“My wife and I are visiting Hawaii from Canada. We just completed the Kailua Pillbox hike and thought we deserved a coffee and pastry. The cafe is warm and inviting and the young lady working the coffee bar was very pleasant and welcoming. The blueberry scones were delicious and the cappuccinos were the best we’ve ever tasted in the USA. Wait. That makes me sound like a coffee snob. Let me change that to, “I have never enjoyed a coffee more in the States!”“

“Passed this place by for months because I didn’t care for the “pro-Jesus” Bible thumping verse on the window outside but decided to overlook that this morning to see if it was as cute inside as it was outside and boy what an experience! Except for the Christian smut this place is a feast for the eyes and cute as HELL! Very cutesy but tastefully Sanrio/Harajuku oriented literally from top to bottom. My wallet was opening up all by itself. But on top of that the young man that took my order, after patiently waiting for me to finish taking pictures and videos was thoughtful, sweet, thorough and friendly. My mocha was spot on and although my orange cranberry scone was more biscuity than sconey there were a ton of other items on my list to try next time around including vegan options. What made this place stand out, though, was KINDNESS! There was an older, barefoot, unkempt man in a hospital gown that came into the store and ordered a coffee to go. He had trouble speaking and trouble walking but the young man took his order, served him and then came out to the door and opened it for him so he could walk out easily. When the same man came in later for a second cup of coffee the young man’s friend, who was also a customer, took note and got up and opened the door for him. THAT’s aloha! Put me to shame - I was kind of scared of that man. But those young people showed compassion and aloha. I love it and I’ll be back!“

“Food- Food had good flavor and was quickly delivered. I wish the bacon was a little thicker, but it was flavorful. Waffle is made well and does not fall apart.Service- Would of given 5 stars, but 1 order was forgotten. They were nice though, and everything else was very promptly delivered.Atmosphere- Overall the place gives good island vibes. Has a fair amount of seating, especially for the size. But I'd have a hard time giving more then 3 because of the temperature. It is very warm, both me and my daughter were sweating while eating.“
