“I cannot speak more highly of this place, I wish we discovered it earlier in our trip! The young lady at the front was so incredibly sweet and welcoming, and the FOOD omg, just so so fresh and flavorful.

We were in the area, but it’s 100% worth the drive from Waikiki. We’ve been in Oahu for over a week now and STILL can’t manage to find a place to beat this poke.”

“I visited for the first time in February of 2023 and loved it. We didn't have an agenda other than to relax. Getting ready to make our second trip next month. Is it fancy? No, but the peace is worth more than gold. If you're looking for a peaceful and relaxing stay....wait, why am I telling you all about this place? I'm sure you can find a better place to suit your needs and desires. This probably isn't what you're looking for. I hear that the military resort in Korea is nice. You should check it out.”

“Great for what it is. Great people, Great atmosphere, Great location. Food is fine and gets it done. They have a starbucks machine that delivered for us when I needed my caffeine fix. The breakfast sandwichs where bot as hot as i hoped but overall im glad this place is here. Definitely coming back. Cant complain in paradise.”

“The food is amazing, I got the pork and cabbage comboed with garlic shrimp with rice and Mac salad, HUGGGE position size I could barely finish it! The food was all so delicious, the garlic shrimp was so juicy and packed with garlic, not to mention the 10/10 service from Kang! This is the best L&L on Oahu, hands down. 🔥🤙”

“A wonderful experience at Maze in Honolulu, largely thanks to the exceptionally warm service, strong flavor and sauce work, and consistently good dishes from beginning to dessert.

What sticks in our mind were the oyster (meaty oyster that didn't feel powdery as some larger ones do, balanced but not overwhlemed by the sauce on top), the basil jook that came with the scallop dish (so well developed), the Washugyu and daikon broth that came with the main.

Also want to compliment the pacing of the meal as we never felt like we were waiting for a long time for any of the dishes. Pretty much perfectly well paced for preferences.

Overall, adding in everything into the experience would not hesitate to come back here again.”

“I am a Miami to Alaska transplant and seek out great Cuban food and cafe’ whenever I travel. Castro’s is the real deal!! The Cuban Cafe’ is spot on and the French Toast with the Rum Sauce is off the charts!! Enough food to feed two! The owner is friendly & engaging as is the staff. Stop in, grab a Cafe’ and chill on the sidewalk seating while your breakfast is created..I say created because it is a true work of art…at least in my professional opinion.”

The ahi cigar and triple-smoked salmon were highlights. The interplay of textures, aromas, and contrasting flavor notes throughout the meal was thoughtful and beautifully executed. There is a clear sense of creativity and technical precision behind the food.

One minor refinement: some dishes leave guests to construct their own bites. A more controlled composition could better showcase the chef’s intended balance of flavors and textures. Overall, an inventive, refined, and memorable experience deserving of five stars.”
