“I cannot speak more highly of this place, I wish we discovered it earlier in our trip! The young lady at the front was so incredibly sweet and welcoming, and the FOOD omg, just so so fresh and flavorful.

We were in the area, but it’s 100% worth the drive from Waikiki. We’ve been in Oahu for over a week now and STILL can’t manage to find a place to beat this poke.”

“We ordered the Kalua Pork and Loco Moco around 5 PM today, and whoever was cooking deserves some serious recognition!

First off, the presentation was amazing, and the portions were so generous! One thing I really appreciated was how nicely the cabbage was cut for the Kalua Pork. Sometimes at other L&L locations, you get those big, uneven chunks of cabbage, but this location clearly took the time to prepare everything with care. It’s the little details like that that make such a difference!

The flavor of BOTH dishes was incredible! Sometimes when ordering Kalua Pork from other places, it can taste a little watery or bland, but that was definitely NOT the case here! The Kalua Pork was packed with flavor, perfectly seasoned, and absolutely delicious!

The Loco Moco was just as amazing! The meat was incredibly juicy, the gravy was rich and flavorful, and they gave us the perfect amount of it. Nothing was lacking in flavor, and you could genuinely taste the care that went into preparing both meals!

I honestly wish I had taken a picture of the presentation because everything looked so good, but the food was so delicious that it disappeared before I even thought about taking one!

Huge props to the cook and the entire team working this evening! It’s refreshing to receive food that’s not only generously portioned but also beautifully presented and full of flavor. You can really tell when someone takes pride in what they’re serving.

“Great for what it is. Great people, Great atmosphere, Great location. Food is fine and gets it done. They have a starbucks machine that delivered for us when I needed my caffeine fix. The breakfast sandwichs where bot as hot as i hoped but overall im glad this place is here. Definitely coming back. Cant complain in paradise.”

“I am a Miami to Alaska transplant and seek out great Cuban food and cafe’ whenever I travel. Castro’s is the real deal!! The Cuban Cafe’ is spot on and the French Toast with the Rum Sauce is off the charts!! Enough food to feed two! The owner is friendly & engaging as is the staff. Stop in, grab a Cafe’ and chill on the sidewalk seating while your breakfast is created..I say created because it is a true work of art…at least in my professional opinion.”

“4.7/5 — nearly perfect. Sushi Sho was one of the best and most focused sushi experiences I’ve had. The meal is prepaid through Tock, with gratuity included, so once you sit down the experience is entirely about the omakase.

Don’t expect caviar, truffles, or unnecessary luxury ingredients added to justify the price. Sushi Sho is about technique, precision, and thoughtful combinations of both local Hawaiian and Japanese ingredients. The rice, temperature, seasoning, texture, and progression of each piece were incredibly deliberate. It feels like a pure sushi experience rather than a luxury tasting menu disguised as omakase.

Keiji Nakazawa wasn’t behind the counter during our visit, but that didn’t detract from the experience. The sushi masters were extremely attentive and detail-oriented, with warm, personal service throughout.

We spent about $490 per person all-in, including sake, beer, and one additional piece. Expensive, absolutely, but the value is in the craftsmanship and execution rather than flashy ingredients. 4.7/5 and about as close to perfect as a sushi experience gets for me.”
