“Food- Food had good flavor and was quickly delivered. I wish the bacon was a little thicker, but it was flavorful. Waffle is made well and does not fall apart.Service- Would of given 5 stars, but 1 order was forgotten. They were nice though, and everything else was very promptly delivered.Atmosphere- Overall the place gives good island vibes. Has a fair amount of seating, especially for the size. But I'd have a hard time giving more then 3 because of the temperature. It is very warm, both me and my daughter were sweating while eating.”

“Awesome beach on the windward side. There's a military checkpoint at the entrance, so it's only accessible if you have military ID. Because of this, it won't get too crowded and not so much riff-raff.Secure area with a large, shaded pavilion and lots of tables. Full bathrooms (not nasty porta potties) and outside showers. Definitely family friendly. Waves on this side of the island are pretty mild to moderate later in the year. Soft sand, warm, blue water, and the occasional jellyfish. Watch out. So darn good, though. Top 3 beach on this island for me.”

“No dine in, no tables, no other staff. Just yummy breakfast plates and plate lunches. They do take card but we paid cash. No bathrooms. The shopping center has chairs and tables aligning the store fronts. Ordering is super easy. The pancakes were really really yummy and the kalbi was delicious. “Found this random truck along the side of the road and was probably the best açaí bowls we had in Hawaii. Added crushed Oreos and peanut butter. No frills bowl really but simple and fresh. Açaí was delicious. Came by the same road the next day trying to get one more bowl before our flight home but was too late ?”

“Their coffee is delicious, we ordered a regular venti coffee and a peppermint mocha frappe. Both were very yummy. We also ordered a breakfast bento and it was pretty good. The rice was luke warm but not bad. Nice little coffee place. CASH ONLY and no ATM.”

“When driving on Oahu, I stopped in front of Kailua.Two big cheeseburgers and a drink at the store for $10! I ordered this with emphasis on cost performance. We ate the finished food in the eat-in space next to the counter.The most important cheeseburger was mediocre. I think there would have been some special impressions if the sauce had been solid, but isn't this something like a sauce? The taste is just patty, cheese, and a slightly salty taste. My honest impression was that the second one was a little hard to eat.The atmosphere is Hawaiian loco! That was nice, but honestly it didn't feel clean.”

“I've been wanting to try this place for over a long time now and FINALLY got a chance a chance to go!! Luckily it was early on a Wednesday night and we were able to walk in without reservations. But with only two guys working they limited the seating. Located in the a tiny intimate space with a bar and some tables I heard that the best seats are at the bar with front row seats so you can see the bartenders do their thing. We were seated on a table where we couldn't see but it's ok because we were engaged in conversation all night. Love that we all got different things and got to try each other's drinks. Everything was crafted with excellent care and beautifully and articulately presented with a short narrative about each drink. The starred ones were my faves. Round 1: ***E ho'o pau mai tai-12 year rum, spices: orgeat, fig lime, absinthe, keawe wood smoke. My friend said this was the world's best mai tai. I always wonder how anyone can make that claim unless they have literally travelled the world and tasted every maitai. They might not be wrong though, because this award winning drink was one of the best maitais I've ever had!!! Not too sweet, much more complex than your typical beach drink, and full of wonderful flavors! Masterfully made! **Kisetsu Sour/ lilikoi - changes seasonally - Nikka Coffey gin, mason pepper, yuzu, bergamot, lilikoi, lemon, tonic . This drink changes with the "seasons". Beautiful, refreshing and too easy to drink! Espresso martini- haku vodka, pandan, cynar, sesame, cold brew, whole egg. They smoke the espresso beans in front of you. My friend liked his drink more than I did. Round 2: Red Shiso smash- (not on the menu)-Toki, red shiso, lemon, yuzu, wasabon sugar, soda. Good but not my favorite. ***El Umami- tequila, mezcal, bergamot, strawberry, tomato, bergamot- lovely in looks and taste! A little sweet, a little smoky. Roma Norte- mezcal, chile verde, grapefruit, honey, black pepper, frozen apple. Super cool presentation. Good if you like smoky. ***Smoked salmon- bourbon smoked salmon, wasabi, dill oil, smoked trout roe. Soooo good! Great for sharing. Excellent servers knew we'd need more bread. Complimentary: Rice ball snacks Dessert: Ganache with yuzu- a perfect ending! Service by the guy in the leather apron and hat (sorry didn't catch his name ) was top notch. We were very well attended to. Love that they fill chilled water without having to be asked through the evening. I can see why people love this place and why it's James Beard worthy! Drinks nowadays are pricey everywhere. Theirs come with creativity, care, craftsmanship and class which give them more value than those at most other bars.”

“Stopped by this British-influenced bar and restaurant upon a recommendation on my last night in Honolulu. The service was a bit cold but the drinks definitely delivered. The cheeseboard-inspired blue cheese washed cocktail was unlike anything I’ve had with a deep savouriness balanced by the pleasant tart-sweetness of pickled grapes. It’s a showstopper. I also loved the alcoholic tepache, which is pleasantly fermented and not too sweet. Didn’t try any food but it sounded good too.”

“Mud Hen Water had one of the more unique menus out of all the places we ate in Hawaii, with dishes that were an interesting fusion of Japanese, traditional Hawaiian, and many other cuisines.My favorite dish was the handmade pasta with venison, which was absolutely delicious and caused my wife to almost abandon her meal to try and eat mine. Hers was also fantastic, a crispy chicken dish that was tender, well-seasoned and really juicy.With excellent service, great food, and a laid-back atmosphere, Mud Hen Water is a strong recommendation for anyone in the Honolulu area looking for a unique dinner spot.”

“My first time visiting and tasting this. I had a Hojicha w/nama chocolate and added a light caramel drizzle. It was very creamy with a subtle nutty flavor. The chocolate was soft and melts in your mouth. Giving a 5 star since I have nothing to compare it to yet.”

“This is a place that you need to plan accordingly the wait for our order was 50 minutes and they have no seating so we called ahead and planned a beach day where we could enjoy our lunch. On the website they do caution you that it’s not fast food and normally takes 40-50 minutes so don’t expect great food to be ready in 5 minutes. It’s definitely worth the wait since everything we ordered was excellent! I can’t imagine how good it would be if we ate it after being freshly made.They make their noodles so everything is cooked fresh and made to order. You can even see the noodles being made in the shop. We ordered the Garlic Ulu Portabello, Lechon Malunggay, Adobong Lechon Kawali and then made our own pasta where you pick the noodles, sauce and protein. Servings size are huge so we all shared and got to try a lot of food. My fav was definitely the Lechon Malunggay. Lechon was so crispy and the noodles so tasty. But everything was sooo deliciousThe lady at the counter was so friendly.”

First off, the scoopers were so friendly and kept apologizing because the waiting time was long but the shop is small and it was packed! That alone tells me this creamery was top notch. And the flavors they had just made my taste buds so excited. Like I said the shop is small but they took the time to provide extra seating for us to enjoy the ourselves.
