“After my left knee replacement surgery in December 2023 I experienced a gout attack in that whole area of my leg. I was bedridden and couldn’t put weight on it. A decision was made to find a skilled nursing/rehab facility. I was able to get a bed at Aloha Nursing and Rehabilitation in Kaneohe.
From my 1st day the admin office, nursing, and CNA’s were Great!! The physical therapist staff were also terrific!! Love it there for my total of 20days! I was able to get a hair cut too! If I had do it again I would definitely go there hands down!! Plenty Mahalo’s to Aloha Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Kaneohe!👍🏽🤙🏽💪🏽💪🏽”

“We have lived in Kāneʻohe for more than 15 years, and throughout that time, we have wished for a local restaurant with great food, a pleasant atmosphere, and affordable prices. With Munga, I finally feel that we have found it.

To be honest, I am often skeptical of pan-Asian restaurants because trying to cover several cuisines can sometimes result in mediocre food across the board. What is so surprising about Munga is that they genuinely seem to pull it off. Their sushi is very good, their Thai dishes are excellent, and we have also really enjoyed their Chinese dishes.

If you have not been yet, I strongly recommend giving Munga a try. I am really rooting for this restaurant to succeed so that we can continue to count on having a delicious, affordable, and welcoming option close to home—without having to drive all the way into town.”

“My friend and I had such a great experience at Gyu-Kaku, and a big part of that was because of our server Karl. From the moment we sat down, he was welcoming, attentive, and genuinly kind. He also makes the best li-hing-mui margaritas! He checked on us consistently with out being overbearing. Karl's energy really stood out to us, and we told him that we'd only ask for him when we come back! If you're dining here, definitely ask for Karl!”

“Reminds me of being in Japan at a small quaint intimate shop that also serves the best domburi on island. YES THE BEST! Service is always great and friendly, and food is always great! Sometines it may take a while if going around closing time or when short staffed, but trust me it is always worth it. Miso butterfish is exceptional and brings to mind Shirokia top floor food court from back in the 90s as well as Tsukigi in Japan.

This wonderful establishment is a rustic no fake facade ten out of ten I very highly recommend.”

“This little food truck makes great shrimp dishes! This area has few sit-down restaurants, but there are quite a few food trucks, and Aloha Shrimp was one our favorites. I especially loved the Spicy Lemon Garlic Shrimp. Check it out!”

The vents are weak, so you can put the vent sucker right up against the grill plate and still get smoke blowing in your face. Good place though otherwise.”

“This is a busy place. Have to wait 5 minutes after 8:00 pm on a Friday night. The sushi is very good. Some food have a little bit too much sweet sauce. The don or rice bowl is much smaller than the photo on the menu. Have option to order on line to make separating the bill easier. If you plan to come, make reservation online.”

We have had pretty awful experiences almost every time we’ve been as far as service is concerned, but we continue to go because of the food. We went last night and had the best service we’ve ever had! Our waitress, Nick, was the best! Friendly, smart, attentive, and speedy! And she was good at upselling. She was great and my husband and I kept saying it was the best experience we have had at this location. Food also came out faster than usual, which was awesome especially considering it was BOGO Thursday. :)”

The quality is unmatched—the fish is incredibly fresh, the cuts are perfect (great texture, no stringy pieces), and the flavors are perfectly balanced. Everything we tried was just ridiculously good. “Drove here from Wahiawa and through a flash flood and it was still well worth it. I haven’t had a fresh beef patty since living in NYC. Beef and cheese was top notch! I’m not a vegetarian but the impossible beef was also too good to be a meat substitute. They have a sauce that adds a sweet heat and I highly recommend. They were sold out of coco bread when I went but I will be returning. 9.5/10.”

“My son and I visited Ayame Curry And Ramen House for the first time this past Friday. We have to be cautious with any new restaurant because of allergies. I called beforehand, and the person on the phone was pleasant and assured me that the sauce would not affect our particular allergies.
We both had Combo Set C. This consisted of shoyu ramen, pork fried rice, and pork gyoza.
The ambiance was casual and relaxed. We walked in just after they opened, so there was no crowd. The greeter welcomed us warmly, presented us with a menu, and said that someone would be there to help us shortly. I asked about the ramen base and cooking oil, because of my shell fish and my son's peanut allergies. She assured us that they use a shoyu base, and would explain to the cooks about our allergy concerns. She was friendly, and helpful. We both appreciated that.
My son and I were already enjoying the peaceful atmosphere, and the quick, reassuring, pleasant service. When the food came we were delightfully surprised.
The scrumptious smell of the ramen filled the air as it was brought to our table. It was delectable to the eyes, as well as the olfactory senses. The gyoza, and fried rice came shortly afterward. All of our dishes were prepared promptly, and proficiently. The ramen was warm and savory. I normally don't like to finish the soup, because it has a tendency to be too salty. Not so with this sauce. It was perfect. My son commented that I inhaled, rather than discarded it, like I usually do. The fried rice was wonderful, an amalgamation of flavors brought together in an impeccable way. The gyoza effortlessly complimented this combo.
With great quality food, service, and ambiance, we will definitely be back here again, just as most of Kaneohe.”

“Now called Javi’s. Food was great! The waitress was super nice and attentive. The food came out fast, hot, and fresh. I wish the queso dip wasn’t over $12, but the other dishes are reasonably priced. BYOB at the moment until they get their liquor license. There’s a market next door that might have alcoholic beverages. There’s parking lot is a little cramped, so massive trucks would be hard to park in there.”

“Picked up party trays for a small New Year's celebration. The food was delicious and all our favorites: chicken katsu, gyoza, pork fried noodles, shabu beef curry. The curry can be messy in a tray but they double-wrapped it in foil to keep it from spilling. It is the best curry anywhere. Everyone at Sumo Ramen Kaneohe is always willing to do whatever it takes to make us happy. The prices are good too. They made our New Year special.”

“First time coming to Saito and Pho. It was very quick to get seated. We also got our food within like 10-15 minutes. The chicken Katsu was nice and crispy and with the side order of curry was also good. The curry was not spicy but was also thick enough for it to work well with the Katsu. Overall, it kinda gave a nice mom and pop kinda restaurant where it felt like you just came back home.”

Despite the covid induced price increases this place still heaps the portions and continues to be arguably the best seasoned meat jun I've had no sauce aside. I'll always support this place and die on the hill it's a top 2/3 spot on island.”
