“I was visiting Honolulu from Wisconsin, and this food truck ended up being one of the best surprises of the whole trip. I’ll be honest the walk to it looks a little sketchy at first since you head down this small alley, but don’t let that fool you. Once you get back there, it’s a whole different story. The customer service was awesome super friendly, super welcoming. And the food? Straight-up 10/10. The loaded barbecue fries were insane, packed with flavor and totally worth every bite. The burgers were just as amazing, juicy and cooked perfectly. Everything we tried was out of this world. If you’re in Honolulu, don’t sleep on this place. I’d come back in a heartbeat.“

“We saw this place food truck place on Instagram and noticed, so we decided to check it out. Let me just say, wow. This place is amazing.

We tried the Bonito Smash Plate, which is basically an everything platter, and it easily fed three of us with extra to take home. Everything was so good. Even for a food truck lot, the whole place had a great vibe, the staff was super friendly, and the food really hit the spot.

The go-to move is the garlic shrimp with extra sauce on the rice. Honestly, that combo alone is worth the trip. We also tried the BBQ chicken, smoked meat, and kalbi, and everything was packed with flavor.

Highly recommend this place. Great food, great people, and definitely worth going out of your way for.“

“This food truck is in the Ward Harbour area, and I've been there for lunch several times. The food is always delicious. Their chili dishes are excellent, and the tacos they've recently started serving are also fantastic. On this particular visit, I had the Fresh Fish Tacos. They were substantial and had a light, addictive flavor. The Pesto Pasta is also delicious, and the Grilled Short Rib I had as a side was so tender and habit-forming. The sauce is truly the best. If you want to enjoy a casual lunch while soaking up the Hawaiian sun, this is the place to go.“

“This place is so good! We are visiting from Arizona and I would eat at this place every time I come back. Priced right, made fresh, flavors are perfect. I had the Wago Loco Moco and my husband had the Steak Plate (Large). Absolutely loved wonderful. We leave in 5 days and we will be back before we head home.“

Edited : 8/3/26. I stopped by for ur reopening with ur new truck. I’ll miss seeing the small rainbow 🌈 truck since I live close by but I’m really happy for the success of this family business. “Waikiki Grill is another great stop in this little cluster of food trucks just a few blocks off the main drag. The area is easy to find, relaxed, and well worth the short walk if you want to get away from the busier tourist spots for a bit.

Everything about the setup feels casual and welcoming. You order from the truck, grab a spot at one of the outdoor picnic tables, and enjoy your food alongside a mix of locals and visitors. It has the kind of atmosphere that makes you want to slow down and hang out for a while instead of just eating and moving on.

The people running Waikiki Grill were friendly and welcoming, and the whole experience felt easy and genuine. This food-truck area turned out to be a great find, and Waikiki Grill fit right in with the relaxed local vibe.

Definitely worth walking a few extra blocks to check it out. Good food, good people, and a great casual place to stop for a meal.

“The most delicious tacos I’ve had in Hawaii, period. I had one chicken taco and one steak taco. Both tacos came with homemade pico and homemade guacamole, and all the salsas at the open salsa bar are also homemade. You add your own cilantro, onions, salsa, hot sauce, and lemon or lime—everything is there. You can really taste the authentic Mexican flavor that you’re not going to get at some of these other fancy restaurants. I’ve honestly enjoyed these two tacos more than many fine-dining places I’ve eaten at here. I wouldn’t call them childhood memories since I didn’t grow up in Mexico, but they remind me of happy memories from time spent in Mexico. It’s a small food truck in a parking lot, a one-person operation, cash only, $5 per taco. There’s one table with five chairs, and napkins and plastic forks are self-serve.
