“I was visiting Honolulu from Wisconsin, and this food truck ended up being one of the best surprises of the whole trip. I’ll be honest the walk to it looks a little sketchy at first since you head down this small alley, but don’t let that fool you. Once you get back there, it’s a whole different story. The customer service was awesome super friendly, super welcoming. And the food? Straight-up 10/10. The loaded barbecue fries were insane, packed with flavor and totally worth every bite. The burgers were just as amazing, juicy and cooked perfectly. Everything we tried was out of this world. If you’re in Honolulu, don’t sleep on this place. I’d come back in a heartbeat.“

“We saw this place food truck place on Instagram and noticed, so we decided to check it out. Let me just say, wow. This place is amazing.

We tried the Bonito Smash Plate, which is basically an everything platter, and it easily fed three of us with extra to take home. Everything was so good. Even for a food truck lot, the whole place had a great vibe, the staff was super friendly, and the food really hit the spot.

The go-to move is the garlic shrimp with extra sauce on the rice. Honestly, that combo alone is worth the trip. We also tried the BBQ chicken, smoked meat, and kalbi, and everything was packed with flavor.

Highly recommend this place. Great food, great people, and definitely worth going out of your way for.“

“This food truck is in the Ward Harbour area, and I've been there for lunch several times. The food is always delicious. Their chili dishes are excellent, and the tacos they've recently started serving are also fantastic. On this particular visit, I had the Fresh Fish Tacos. They were substantial and had a light, addictive flavor. The Pesto Pasta is also delicious, and the Grilled Short Rib I had as a side was so tender and habit-forming. The sauce is truly the best. If you want to enjoy a casual lunch while soaking up the Hawaiian sun, this is the place to go.“

“Tonight I tried AWE Wagyu Beef Lover dish. It was amazing. The steak was full of flavor and could be ate with a fork. Came with enough food for two and was under $30. I would come back here and recommend to all people visiting.

“I have been shopping there for many years and love the selection of vendors that are there. We can almost always find what we are looking for including gifts from local artists and made quite a few friends with some of the vendors. There is something for everyone. Also I recently became a vendor myself.“

“Old review from 2024 -> Best burger I’ve ever had in my entire life. I’m not just trying to hype up this place just because they’re a local business. Seriously the burgers are out of this world. I’ve been to so many burger trucks/restaurants in the island/ Continental USA/ Other countries. And no one has ever made me such a delicious burger. 10/10. These burgers are worth every penny.

Edited : 8/3/26. I stopped by for ur reopening with ur new truck. I’ll miss seeing the small rainbow 🌈 truck since I live close by but I’m really happy for the success of this family business. “After going to college in San Diego, I was disappointed with the Mexican food options here on Oahu. That changed when I stumbled upon this place after a night out.

Hands down the best Mexican food on the island, no question. Just remember - it's cash only!“

“Waikiki Grill is another great stop in this little cluster of food trucks just a few blocks off the main drag. The area is easy to find, relaxed, and well worth the short walk if you want to get away from the busier tourist spots for a bit.

Everything about the setup feels casual and welcoming. You order from the truck, grab a spot at one of the outdoor picnic tables, and enjoy your food alongside a mix of locals and visitors. It has the kind of atmosphere that makes you want to slow down and hang out for a while instead of just eating and moving on.

The people running Waikiki Grill were friendly and welcoming, and the whole experience felt easy and genuine. This food-truck area turned out to be a great find, and Waikiki Grill fit right in with the relaxed local vibe.

Definitely worth walking a few extra blocks to check it out. Good food, good people, and a great casual place to stop for a meal.

“Hands down some of the best Mexican food on Oʻahu. Period, point blank. And the carne asada burrito? The best I’ve had on the island. I crave it regularly.

Honestly, I wish Tacos Don Chema had a full restaurant with margaritas because I would probably be there at least once a week. 😂 The food is that good.

So why four stars instead of five? Mondays.

Google and Yelp may say they’re open on Mondays, but proceed with caution. I once went specifically because I was craving that carne asada burrito, only to find them closed. I called…no answer. When I stopped by a few days later and asked about Mondays, I was basically told that sometimes they open on Mondays and sometimes they don’t.

So consider this your warning: if you have a serious Tacos Don Chema craving, maybe don’t gamble on a Monday. 😂 oh and they don’t have lids for their drinks so don’t order if you’re taking it to go.

Other than that, I absolutely recommend them. Great Mexican food, incredible carne asada and one of my favorite food trucks at Ohana Hale Waikiki.“

“This was my first time coming here, and I really enjoyed it! It’s a great place to hang out with friends. They have a lot of delicious Vietnamese food and many side dishes that are perfect to enjoy with some beer. You can also bring your own drinks, which is really nice.

They have many unique and authentic Vietnamese dishes that are hard to find anywhere else in Hawaii. The owner is really sweet and took great care of us, making us feel very welcome even though it was our first time here.

The prices are also very affordable for the quality and variety of food. I had a great first experience and will definitely come back again with friends! Highly recommended! 🍻❤“
