“Beautiful setting, great staff. Food is tasty. I always order the 3 egg omelette. Upon reopening after the pandemic, the portion size for the omelette and potatoes is HALF what it used to be. You also used to receive an entire broiled tomato (cut in half), now you only receive half of a very small tomato. Sad to say, but I think we will be frequenting the Plumeria Beach House out at the Kahala, which is still good value for the money.“

“This place was right up the street from our hotel. We had heavy local food for 2 days. The grilled seafood options in wagon 1 were large and the price was better than most places in the area. Live local music and fast service sealed the deal. 2 ate with a tip for $45 and we were full“

“Roy's is a great place to celebrate graduations, birthdays, anniversaries! We celebrated all three and the staff was so sweet to acknowledge each one! Food was super - crispy zucchini, salads, diver scallops, ahi, pork ribs. The cocktails strong. Have the original martini! Wow! And if you only pick one dessert - the banana bread pudding is a must!!“

“Truely unforgettable great cuisines experience. We were a group of 5 adults from 5:45pm, planning to the birthday celebration among us, making it an even more memorable experience. We requested the table request in advance, on booking via OpenTable app. The restaurant accommodated our request for a beachside table with the beautiful sunset. That made greatly enhance our dining and make our celebration fantastic. Our choce was the course "A Taste of Michel's." For the amuse-bouche, there was ahi tartare, and the first course was lobster soup with tableside presentation. Creamy soup and broth are rich and incredibly delicious. The service by Mike was exceptional, and I felt the warmth of their hospitality. Next, he also set up a live corner table again near our table to assemble the romaine Caesar salad with palm heart. Depending on one's taste, the dressing or cheese amount can be adjusted upon request as it might be slightly salty for some. The main course, foie gras sauté with filet steak, paired perfectly with the blueberry sauce, enhancing both the quality and flavor of the meat. For drinks, I recommed the "Hibiscus Martini" garnished with a candied hibiscus flower and a lemon twist.“

“Because it's a popular restaurant, it can get quite crowded even if you plan to go outside during peak hours. Since there are a lot of tourists, you may not be able to eat at the table in front of the store if a large number of people occupy the table in front of the store.I like the taste, but the poke bowl here is my favorite on Oahu.If you choose a combo, you can choose two types of poke. Also, if you order one Pokeball, you will get one free drink, so when you enter the store, just follow the directions and get one drink first, but only the drinks in the photo on the menu will come with it for free. So it's not everything.Pokeball is1. Choose a size. Regular is enough for one person.2. Choose white rice or brown rice. I like brown rice and always choose that.3. Choose your poke, and if you make a combo, you can choose from 2 types. I like soy sauce ahi, wasabi ahi, and Hawaiian style ahi.Parking: There are parking lots, but they are few and narrow, so it is not suitable for people who are not confident in driving overseas.“

“I have been here several times over the past year for "high tea." It is always amazing, from the food & service to the beautiful ocean and courtyard views. We celebrated our anniversary with friend from out of state and everything was wonderful. We all chose the Moana Classic Tea with finger sandwiches, sweet offerings, tropical sorbet and tea (we each chose a different flavor). A few of my favorites (this time) were the Ratatouille Tart and the Smoked Salmon Mousse Blini, but I really enjoyed them all.Our friend has a food allergy and our server was very accommodating. He made other suggestions to some of the sandwiches and all of the "exchanges" were fabulous. Each time we have been, the menu has changed, although most of the tea's are the same flavors (only 2 or 3 have changed). The quality of the food is the same (5 stars)I would definitely suggest Moana Surfer Rider - The Veranda at the Beachhouse for all of your special occasions.Parking: The Valet parking is free with validation of "High Tea" service. Otherwise, there is parking across the street at International Market Place garage (I am not sure what the current rates are).“

“Restaurant: A Roy Yamaguchi restaurant, Eating House 1849 combines local foods, cultral heritage, and culinary skill to bring Hawaii's flavors to modern cuisine. Ambiance: Upscale local dining Parking: Lot parking at international market place. Service: Above expectation. Servers and hosts were happy to accomodate my party's preferences and went beyond to provide many congratulatory messages to make our night special. I would highly recommend Eating House for dining events when celebrating any momentous event. Food: I ordered the Build you Own Local Catch Dish with Kampachi, Steamed, Sizzling Serrano Ginger. You are able to customize your meal with the type of fish, method of preparation, and choice of sauce. Delicious all around, would reccomend. For dessert, I got the strawberry cheesecake. It was a strawberry ice jelly on the top of a cheesecake with crust. The cheesecake was as expected, but the strawberry jelly was a bit bland, tasting mostly like ice and a hint of strawberry. I was told it was a new item so hopefully they can perfect the recipe.“

She took the extra time to talk with us and gave a 10 out of 10 experience. The cocktails, food, and drinks were also excellent. Allie (I think) needs a raise because her caliber of service is extraordinary?“

“This place was extremely busy when we showed up but the staff was working very quickly and was able to get everyone their food surprisingly fast. Quality of food is great. “Yummmmmm I mean! What's not to like. Italian food! Caccio e Pepe in a parmigiana wheel. The dolphins. Lattes. All that fun. Yummm. Latte was my favorite, followed by caccio e Pepe. Love the pizza too. But the service! That's what you'll come back for! Staring from valet to finish, service is impeccable. They also make the best lattes. Caccio e Pepe in parmigiana wheel was purely for entertainment but taste was good too. Dolphins and valet parking: cherry on top! And whatever you do, don't skip on their dessert!! It's amazing. Can't wait come back !!“

“We ate at Uncle Bo's Pupu bar in Waikiki on the second to last night of our 3 week stay, how I wish we had discovered this place sooner! The food was amazing we ordered 4 dishes off the Pupu menu which came out slowly allowing us to savour each dish, service was super friendly and for once we did not feel rushed to finish our meals and move on, which is how we often felt in the restaurants on the main Waikiki drag! Thanks Uncle Bo's we will definitely be back and will definitely tell our fellow Kiwis about your fab restaurant. Much aroha.“

“We were recommended this GEM of a Omakaze Sushi restaurant by a family member for my Birthday. Thank you “Chancelor”Our reservation was for 5pm and for 2 hours we were served the most creative, delectable and unique sushi. It was a total of 18 courses, which included caviar, Japanese fish, Wagyu, crab, a never-ending imagination of divine combinations. My absolute favorite dish of the evening was a Uni and trout roe dish. "It was unlike anything I've ever tasted! It was incredibly scrumptious and triumphant! Ray even makes a Rose salt and his own shoyu…The Hihimanu is truly a dining experience. I got to taste food that I would never have thought to combine, and it was all appetizing. The owner and Sushi MASA “Ray” was a true master at his craft and very personable.Service was excellent, the staff was so fast and efficient. The Hihimanu is easily THE BEST SUSHI meal of my entire life. I'd have to agree with our family member that this is the best restaurant in Hawaii for Sushi.“

“Go to fish taco spot on the south side. Generally the vibes and the food here are what keep me coming back, the staff are so friendly and welcoming. The seating can be tough because it's so popular you have to time it right or just try not time it wrong. The four stars for food is due to the cook on the fries can be inconsistent, otherwise really Ono eats.“

So I highly recommend getting the 2. All in all 5 ⭐️ meal!“

“I’ll start by saying I have not had the gold standard of Maine lobster rolls. But I grew up in the PNW eating fresh shell fish of all kinds. This buttered lobster roll was delicious. It had a heaping amount of juicy lobster. The bun was toasted and held up well against the amount of butter. Wasn’t soggy. (I’d eat it right away though… might not be fabulous for take out.)You order at the inside window and then pick up and eat at the picnic tables on the patio. You can see it when you first turn into ward center. Right next to Rodger Dunn golf store. Food came out in less than 10 minutes. The staff was happy and friendly. After I finished eating, one of the girls asked how everything was and was genuinely happy to see that we enjoyed it.Worth the $20 for the roll. Especially considering this is Honolulu and the amount of lobster that was included.Parking: 3 levels of parking at ward center. It’s tight. But it’s free. Never have I not found a spot, even when busy.“

“We went for an early dinner before a concert. The setting, overlooking Kapiolani Park beneath Diamond was very lovely. There is complimentary valet parking beneath the restaurant which was fortunate as the street parking was full. Service was pleasant and attentive. The foie gras terrine was heavenly, one of the most delicious preparations I have ever had, a reason to return. The mushroom rice was also very tasty and quite different. My guest is vegetarian and we enjoyed the Brussels sprouts and carrots . The zucchini was the only dish that I found disappointing. I very much enjoyed the baked Hawai'i dessert . Apparently the chocolate brownie was also excellent. A very good dinner.“

“I thought $18 for a plate of shrimp curry was a little expensive until I ate it and realized they could raise the price to $25 and I would buy it again! It's was worth every penny. The restaurant was clean and very well maintained I just wish they had a full size dining area. The service of the food was surprisingly quick and easy. I will definitely be back one day to try more items on the menu. I recommend this restaurant to all my friends and family 9/10. Well done.“
“Always a creative menu accompanied by attentive service. We sat outside on what turned out to be a windy Friday night. More annoying was the Mariachi band playing loudly at the taco place across the street (drowned out the pleasant music at Merriman's). We'll eat inside next time. My wife's Makai special (Kauai lobster) was superb. My peppercorn steak frite was almost impossible to cut. Sharper knives are needed! Be sure to have the anchovies with the Ceasar salad--a great experience.“

“When I tell you this is one of the best poke bowls I have ever had on the island... geez the fish tasted so fresh and so soooft. I usually prefer ahi when getting any poke but wanted to try the king salmon and it's 1.50 extra but so worth It! They have many toppings that are included but some that are extra such as the crab salad & seaweed salad (which I got). They had uni but opted out this time because I wanted to appreciate the poke more but maybe next time! They say it's flown from Japan But all in all 10/10 Run don't walk!“

“I had reservations at a bar across the street and I was looking for dinner places when I found this- I love indian food and there aren't a ton of options on island but I thought why not? Let me give it a try. Let me tell you I am so happy I did. We were seated immediately (we went at 7:00 PM on a Wednesday) and while we there it started getting busy. Everyone was incredibly friendly and I felt taken care of the whole time. I asked for a popular lamb dish and the waitress suggested the lamb tikka masala. I love spice (like I want to almost cry) and flavor packed dishes so I made sure to order it on the highest spice level. But guess what? It still wasn't spicy enough for me! So when I told the waitress she immediately went to the back to get some sauce to give me an extra kick? I loved that she did that because whatever she gave me was incredibly spicy and I LOVED IT. My friends tried it and they indeed wanted to cry, but not tears of joy like me. The dish was so good, tons of flavor, juicy, hot (temp wise too). The naan was delicious too omg. This review is making me want to go back. Since we went on a weekday at night, plenty street parking available. There isn't much open downtown so the fact that this is?! & it's delicious?! Yeah, I'm going again. Maybe today.“

“I was looking for "good cake noodle place" for Aunty's BD family party (food theme was Chinese) and on the Yelp, I typed "best cake noodle", then this place hit! Located at the Chinatown Cultural Plaza face to River St. This place is very cozy restaurant but the lady is very friendly and nice. We felt we were very welcomed. We did phone order, ~2 House Special Cake Noodles (gravy on side), 1 Sauted Garlic Ong Choy, and 1 Sauted Choy Dum- and we were told in 15-20minutes to ready. (The party size was small) House Special Cake Noodle has Choy Sum, Shrimp, fish cake, and sliced meat in a gravy, the noodles are fresh fried and after poor the gravy, the texture became soft and tasty. Sauted Garlic Ong Choy and Sauted Choy Sum were both good!!! I love this place and would like to try different menu next time! Anyway, we parked at the Chinatown Cultual Plaza parking, no validation but still cheeper than other parking. (In 30min is free 31min to 1 Hour is $1, after that $1 each additional per hour. If you just order for to go, I recommend to avoid exactly lunch time, it was easy to find the parking spot.“

“I'm not much of a food connoisseur, and I've eaten at a lot of Michelen star restaurants because of the company I keep. I've always thought that the hype around most of these places were a marketing gimmick. I also couldn't sat seafood before I had covid.I didnt have high expectations for this place when I arrived, but I definitely was impressed. I thought everything was super delicious- from the main dishes to the sides. For the first time in my life I could taste the artwork and craftsmanship that went into the flavor combinations, and I'm impressed. I ordered the Umi tasting menu with wine pairing.I dont review restaurants much but I felt this one was worth reviewing. I definitely think it's worth a try, and then maybe you can tell me whether or not my pallet is unusual or if it genuinely is as good as I think.“

“Probably the best poke in terms of the fish itself. It's not as flavorful as one of the other poke places I visited, but this place definitely has a freshest and tastiest fish in Hawaii for poke. I saw the reviews on yelp were amazing for this place and I wasn't sure about visiting because it looked super rundown. But I'm super glad I came to visit. The fish were super good and It's prepared quickly for you. This is definitely a hole in the wall type of spot. I would definitely not have found it just drop by and I honestly am not sure if I would've visit after just seeing how it looks on the outside. “My partner and I come to the islands at least twice a year and one of those times is for our anniversary. I've been dying to try out Azure ever since I first heard of it many years ago, and on this trip, we finally made a reservation and tried it out for our anniversary dinner. Azure's vibes are immaculate. We were seated right on the beach with the most beautiful sunset and view of diamond head. The tasting menu was more limited than I'd like (only one appetizer course and only 3 choices per dish) but the food was overall really good. I am normally vegan but always give in and eat fish when I visit Hawaii, however, it was so refreshing to see an up-scale restaurant have fully vegan items on the menu so they immediately got points for that, and of course I had to try the vegan items! The beet salad appetizer was just okay -- the beets themselves were fantastic but the whipped goat cheese just didn't go with this dish and there was far too much of the cheese and not enough of the beets. For my second course, I had the heart of palm which looked beautiful but sadly didn't have much flavor at all. Now, the seared tofu was the absolute star of the night. That was one of the best vegan entrees I've ever had. The curry underneath the tofu was so good! I could have eaten just that dish and been happy for the evening. My partner had the striploin and short rib and thoroughly enjoyed it as well (but had the same opinions about the beet salad and his poached scallops). The desserts were good -- not phenomenal but overall a satisfactory ending to a satisfactory meal. Oh, and the bread service was good! The lavash crisps with what tasted like zaatar seasoning were delicious. The service seemed nowhere to be found most of the time, but because of the quality of the food combined with the ambiance, we came to the conclusion that Azure deserves much of the praise it gets!“

“We ordered the most standard soy sauce poke bowl, wasabi poke bowl, and oyako poke bowl (salmon & salmon roe). All poke bowls come with a choice of tuna or salmon. For parents and children, it was about twice the price of a regular poke bowl, but the portion was about 1.5 times as much, so they were satisfied. The salmon was covered in oil, tender and very tasty. The seasoning is made with soy sauce and sesame oil.The best thing about it was that the rice was delicious. Up until then, I had eaten sushi-like food at several restaurants in Hawaii, but the rice was so bad that I was left with incomplete meals. . This restaurant uses Japanese rice, so the rice was very delicious. My family was very satisfied and said it was the best thing I've ever eaten in Hawaii. The staff was also very courteous. Supports Japanese. Payment is by credit card only (I think Apple Pay is also ok)The only disappointing thing was that there were a lot of birds on the roof of the restaurant, and while I was eating in the eat-in space outside, something fell from above. . The children were concerned about this and ended up eating while standing on the sidewalk a little further away. Since the number of seats is limited, it may be better to take out rather than eat in.Other than that, the store was a perfect score of 100 for us. Everyone please try it! !“

They're located in the basement so expect to go down stairs from the street. There is a restroom but you'll need to get a code from staff to use it.
