“Went to Oahu this past weekend had a great time stopped in for some ono seared ahi I've gotta say this was thee best seared ahi I ever had! Also picked up smoked swordfish seriously had to go back for more! Mahalo nui loa definitely a go-to spot ? give this place 2 thumbs and 2 shakas sorry I don't have pics coz he ate it all ❤️“
“Let me just start by saying, nothing but good things to say about Paradise Poke!!! Our first time visiting we ordered the 2 choice poke bowl. I had the spicy Hawaiian poke and the Shoyu poke. Both were great!!! If you love spicy, you will love the spicy Hawaiian. On my second visit I tried the ginger scallion poke and I have to say that is my new favorite!! The flavors are just so good in the ginger scallion poke!!! Definitely a must try! Bowls are on par with prices you may find elsewhere, the rice was good, poke serving generous and also comes with a side! Fish was also fresh!!!“
“You must have reservations for dinner. This place is very crowded and the seating is a little cramped. But the service and steaks were great. My steak was a little over cooked but very tasty. I also added some sautéed mushrooms which went well with the steak. They also have a very good selection of wine and spirits. Parking on the top level was also challenging on Friday night. I did not try the underground parking area.Parking: The restroom is shared with Lilia bakery.“
“My husband and I visited this location recently and everything was absolutely perfect. Especially our bartender (Lae). Lae was on point with all of our needs. We sat at the bar and had amazing meal. ohmygosh! The best I've had in Honolulu so far and I moved here 6 months ago. lol... Steaks were was cooked to perfection very flavorful, apps were delicious, salad nice and fresh on a chilled plate. Seriously good job everyone at Black Angus Pearl City we will see you soon! Ty ?“
“Absolute best poke I’ve had on the island - went in and asked them to make their best poke salad and they did not disappoint. My husband got the shaved ice and said it was super delicious and a generous amount of it. Highly recommend and will definitely come back! We even were able to sit outside at the picnic table. Great staff “
“I loved the food, atmosphere and most of all the service! On vacation in Hawaii and our final lunch spot was here. Random stop. When we goggled their menu.... it looked amazing. We get there, and they did not disappoint. They gave us some samples to take on the road with us. They were the greatest! Stop in... you won't regret.“
“We went here for my spouse's birthday dinner. Upon walking in, one hostess was exceptional with a birthday greeting, and we were excited. The live music was amazing, and we had a great table right by it. Cocktails were spectacular and I loved the drink menu... bar staff was was excellent. My spouse got the Chinese-style mahi mahi, and it had incredible flavor! I ordered the rib eye; while cooked well, it was mostly fat unfortunately and I enjoyed the mahi mahi much more. Service was pretty good although I would've appreciated the server just acknowledging my spouse's birthday.“
“Absolutely recommend Orchids at Halekulani! This is an incredible brunch experience overlooking the ocean. Tony, Benjamin, and the entire staff that waited on us were amazing -- they truly made the experience! We had a special request, and they listened and made it happen perfectly. The food was exceptional. Compliments to the Chef and staff!“
“You won't believe the amazing 60th birthday party my uncle had at this place! The food and ambiance were absolutely incredible! We had live Hawaiian music played by my boyfriend, and our entire family danced the hula all night long! And let me tell you, that roast pig was to die for! It was so crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside...you have to check out the video I took! The location is unbeatable, right by the ocean and next to the Prince Hotel in Waikiki. Trust me, you don't want to miss out on this incredible experience!“
“Sean stands out as a knowledgeable, friendly, professional, attentive part of the Ruth Chris team in Honolulu. My husband and I were very impressed by his effort to make a birthday celebration a relaxing, enjoyable, memorable evening for us. He checked on us to ensure we were enjoying our meal. The salad was so fresh, the creamed spinach as always was delicious. The filet and ribeye cooked perfectly. Thank you for a wonderful experience.“
“Get the fries.I mean, get anything it’s all good, but get the fries. I don’t think I’ve had better fries on island. The stuff is super friendly and funny. I usually just order and run off, but I actually stick around a lot here.Definitely recommend!“
“Food is exceptional. Showed up as a picky eater. No fish. Food here is so damn good I've started eating new foods and have been at this sushi spot well over 50 times in the past 4 yearsGo to's are-Calvin's choice-SOS-Red Dragon-Spicy AhiBut holy S#!T the food here is fire a must whether tourist or live here best damn sushi on the island, always playing fire kpop music going goblin mode and great vibes. This place is a MUST puts dorakus to shame plus, fraction of the price. Get you some good a$$ sushi and stop by.“
“My wife and I had dinner on the rooftop here for our honeymoon today. Our hostess (Allie I think?) was extremely personable, friendly, and caring. She took the extra time to talk with us and gave a 10 out of 10 experience. The cocktails, food, and drinks were also excellent. Allie (I think) needs a raise because her caliber of service is extraordinary?“
“Last night’s dinner at Merriman’s was absolutely superb - oysters, lobster pot pie, their signature Mai Tai (best I’ve ever tasted) - then a coffee martini w chocolate purse dessert - I can’t rave enough - live music & excellent service - shout out to John. Thanks to all ~“
“I used it for my last dinner in Hawaii during my honeymoon from July 28th to August 3rd last year. When I entered the store, I was greeted with a smile, and when I sat down at the desk, the staff spread flowers on the desk, which made me very happy. Also, while we were eating, a senior person in a suit was on his honeymoon. ], the staff responded with a smile, and the staff said in Japanese, "Are you full?" (^^)] I was able to talk to her in a friendly manner, and it became a very good memory. It was my first time abroad, so I was really glad I came. It was a rare sight to see the final dessert set on fire, so I was really happy (;_;) I definitely want to go again, so thank you!“
“I’ll start by saying I have not had the gold standard of Maine lobster rolls. But I grew up in the PNW eating fresh shell fish of all kinds. This buttered lobster roll was delicious. It had a heaping amount of juicy lobster. The bun was toasted and held up well against the amount of butter. Wasn’t soggy. (I’d eat it right away though… might not be fabulous for take out.)You order at the inside window and then pick up and eat at the picnic tables on the patio. You can see it when you first turn into ward center. Right next to Rodger Dunn golf store. Food came out in less than 10 minutes. The staff was happy and friendly. After I finished eating, one of the girls asked how everything was and was genuinely happy to see that we enjoyed it.Worth the $20 for the roll. Especially considering this is Honolulu and the amount of lobster that was included.Parking: 3 levels of parking at ward center. It’s tight. But it’s free. Never have I not found a spot, even when busy.“
“Amazing experience! The food and the service was on point! To drink I had the pink Cadillac which tastes great! We started with a wedge salad, crab cakes, shrimp cocktail and the fried rice. Our entrees were the lobster pan roast, prime rib petite filet with taro dinner rolls. We ended the meal with the taro bread pudding and ice cream which paired well together. So I highly recommend getting the 2. All in all 5 ⭐️ meal!“
“They have a great variety of flavors for savory and sweet manapua! I tried them fried and my top favorites were: spinach mozzarella, honey garlic chicken, sweet potato, and Oreo. The owner is so friendly and we would love to come back again to try other items there!“
“Was here last year and found it disappointing.BUT. TRIED AGAIN TODAY AND WOW!!;food was amazing from ribs to parmesan bread to shrimp ravioli yummmmIf I had to pick anything souflee took to long even though I ordered at the startm but it is worth the wait ..l“
“When I tell you this is one of the best poke bowls I have ever had on the island... geez the fish tasted so fresh and so soooft. I usually prefer ahi when getting any poke but wanted to try the king salmon and it's 1.50 extra but so worth It! They have many toppings that are included but some that are extra such as the crab salad & seaweed salad (which I got). They had uni but opted out this time because I wanted to appreciate the poke more but maybe next time! They say it's flown from Japan But all in all 10/10 Run don't walk!“
“I was looking for "good cake noodle place" for Aunty's BD family party (food theme was Chinese) and on the Yelp, I typed "best cake noodle", then this place hit! Located at the Chinatown Cultural Plaza face to River St. This place is very cozy restaurant but the lady is very friendly and nice. We felt we were very welcomed. We did phone order, ~2 House Special Cake Noodles (gravy on side), 1 Sauted Garlic Ong Choy, and 1 Sauted Choy Dum- and we were told in 15-20minutes to ready. (The party size was small) House Special Cake Noodle has Choy Sum, Shrimp, fish cake, and sliced meat in a gravy, the noodles are fresh fried and after poor the gravy, the texture became soft and tasty. Sauted Garlic Ong Choy and Sauted Choy Sum were both good!!! I love this place and would like to try different menu next time! Anyway, we parked at the Chinatown Cultual Plaza parking, no validation but still cheeper than other parking. (In 30min is free 31min to 1 Hour is $1, after that $1 each additional per hour. If you just order for to go, I recommend to avoid exactly lunch time, it was easy to find the parking spot.“
“The sushi here was FANTASTIC! I got the Hawaiian roll, and it was the best sushi roll I've ever had. It was the perfect balance of textures and flavors. No soy sauce required!I also enjoyed watching their television of various authentic Japanese dishes being made. Very fascinating.“
“I gave 5 stars for the atmosphere because it's fun to watch all the workers in action. There is almost always a line out the door, but it moves fast and most definitely worth it. I get the spicy ahi tempura poke bowl usually, although this time I got the new seared ahi on greens and it was delicious! I had to get a seafood veggie tempura on the side. I never leave without at least one. So ono!“
“Always a creative menu accompanied by attentive service. We sat outside on what turned out to be a windy Friday night. More annoying was the Mariachi band playing loudly at the taco place across the street (drowned out the pleasant music at Merriman's). We'll eat inside next time. My wife's Makai special (Kauai lobster) was superb. My peppercorn steak frite was almost impossible to cut. Sharper knives are needed! Be sure to have the anchovies with the Ceasar salad--a great experience.“
“It's a restaurant and bar located in Ala Moana Center. It's a little difficult to find as it takes a special elevator from the second floor, but there is a parking lot and easy access. It's open in the evening, so it's not crowded in the early hours, but it's so popular that it's nearly full for dinner after 6pm. All of the meals are delicious, but I especially recommend the dessert sundae and hot chocolate cake. The service is attentive, and no matter how many times I return, I am always satisfied. This restaurant is located in Ala Moana, but reservations are required, and you must be careful as Japanese is not spoken at all.“
“Probably the best poke in terms of the fish itself. It's not as flavorful as one of the other poke places I visited, but this place definitely has a freshest and tastiest fish in Hawaii for poke. I saw the reviews on yelp were amazing for this place and I wasn't sure about visiting because it looked super rundown. But I'm super glad I came to visit. The fish were super good and It's prepared quickly for you. This is definitely a hole in the wall type of spot. I would definitely not have found it just drop by and I honestly am not sure if I would've visit after just seeing how it looks on the outside. Can't judge a book by its cover, because it was delicious.!! TLDR - best poke in terms of fish, definitely a hole in the wall type of spot“
“I ate at Maguro Bros Waikiki 5 nights in a row and also go to enjoy the Chinatown location for lunch one day. The nice difference with the Chinatown location is that it offered some cooked dishes which I really enjoyed. The grilled ahi belly and miso salmon were both excellent and my family thought the same also. The guys at Maguro Brothers put in long days to get the best fish and provide friendly service. Far and away, this was the best place for me and my family to eat in Honolulu!“
“It's North Indian cuisine and they do serve spicy food if asked. We haven't had Indian cuisine in a while, so it definitely felt great to us. I wouldn't give it 5 stars but the food is good enough. Their butter naan, chicken biryani, gulab jamoon was awesome. Roti became hard once it cooled down. Chicken kabob while tasted very good it had more food coloring in it. Overall it was good.Vegetarian options: Veg samosa, pakora, clearly labeled veg curriesParking: Alii parking space nearby. 75 cents for 30 mins and then $1.5 for every 30 mins. Not too much for city parking. But need to walk about 5 mins to the restaurantKid-friendliness: They do have have child seat, we went with the three kids and we were able to easily dine inWheelchair accessibility: No. Their restrooms are not easily accessible.“
“Food fiend did a vlog few months ago on Catania Waimalu. Thanks Misty?when I went in after 12:30 I must've of missed the crowd inside and take out .Taste ? portion size ?can diffently do family style so you can try more options. Place is clean and tables not crowed together . Linda very nice❤ will be back to try out more menu choices. Lilikoi cheesecake delish ...maybe slice could be a little more BUT then again with the portion size of meal it may just be right amt. I had Spaghetti w/ meat sauce and order of garlic bread...if you a bread eater maybe 2 orders? check them out!Parking: waimalu always busy but people are picking up lunch and leaving so there's always someone leaving“
“Chic and cool vibe in a beautifully designed restaurant. The food is excellent! We had the Hamachi carpaccio and calamari fritto - both get 5 stars. The crab/uni pasta and the black squid ink both get 5 STARTS+++++. Incredible!! Wait staff is friendly and professional. GREAT restaurant but it is pricey. :)“
“I am a firm believer that some of the best food you can get in Hawaii comes from small, local food trucks like Flyin' Ahi. I finally got the chance to try them after wanting to go for years. Usually I wouldn't be able to because of work but I took advantage of the Veteran's Day holiday to make my way over. Located in Mililani Tech Park next to other food trucks. The baked crab stuffed Ono with truffle sauce caught my eye. But I also wanted to try their signature kalbi fries, plus spicy ahi poke... Luckily the kind owner was able to combine all that into one fat plate. Everything was amazing! The truffle cream sauce is to die for. The fries were fried up perfectly crispy with a generous portion of kalbi on top. And the spicy ahi was great too, I liked how it wasn't the usual mayo-based sauce.Service was super quick and friendly. The owner was generous enough to add some spicy ahi into the blackened ahi salad we got too. I'll definitely come back to this spot when I have another day off and want to treat myself.“
“My husband's place to eat prime rib. He says, "it's the best he's ever had." I've tried some dishes, and everyone was good. But, my favorite is the stuffed salmon with garlic mashed potatoes. Service is always the bomb. Overall, it's just a great place to come and grind. You won't be disappointed.“
“Great sushi! First timer at Morio’s and it was a fun experience. We brought a few bottles of sake so we could share with the staff and with Morio. Omakase was excellent, super fresh fish and perfectly seasoned sushi rice. Will definitely be going back when we can get a reservation!“
“Very good Poke. Also a very convenient location. I got the Ahí Limu at the lowest spice level and it wasn’t spicy at all in my opinion. I also got the truffle ponzu salmon which was delicious. My wife wanted to try the poke nachos but they were out unfortunately.“
“My family and I had a wonderful dinner at Tanaka of Tokyo West! This was actually our first teppanyaki experience, and it did not disappoint. The food choices were excellent and reasonably priced considering the amount and quality you receive. Our chef, Chef Kaki, also did an amazing job accommodating our 22 month old daughter as she was a little scared of the flames, utensils show, etc. He made sure to pare down the experience for her age, while still ensuring my husband and I were engaged. We will definitely return when we visit Oahu again!Parking: The restaurant is easily accessible as it is part of a shopping complex, so there is a lot of free parking.“
“Love the food and service here! I can definitely say with confidence that I come here at least once a week. Food is always on point and the service never disappoints. Also, love that the food is usually within 15 minutes. If you're hungry, go for one of their two choice combos. My favorite is the kalbi and zucchini Jun. My top picks are either Mandoo guk sop or the yukgaejang (spicy beef and vegetable soup). They use real fernbrake in the soup.“
“This is review is long over due. Dell's Kitchen is one my goto spots for an affordable plate local/japanese food. I've tried their Kawagoe Karaage, Kurobuta Pork Katsu, and Nori Chicken. The Karaage is my favorite and the most affordable as well. It comes with a sweet mustard dipping sauce, a coleslaw type salad, rice, and some other veggies. The portions are generous. And they have a dining area inside with complimentary water. They also have a sister restaurant next door that serves pasta dishes. Highly recommend this restaurant if in the mood for some good tasting and affordable local Japanese food.“
“Had a Hawaiian plate on Aloha Friday. Great food and just as we sat down for lunch a duet started playing Hawaiian classics including Little Grass Shack and Hukilau - talk about great atmosphere! The food was tasty and the portion plentiful for the price. I’ll definitely visit again when I’m back on Oahu.“
“I found most of the food in Waikiki area of Honolulu to not be very impressive, but the Halekulani Bakery had such delicious artisan pastries that I made it my regular breakfast spot during my Hawaiian vacation. The tea and scones here were okay, but the croissants and danishes are a must try! They had the perfect level of flakiness, and come of a variety of tropical flavors. The bakery itself has a nice contemporary feel with a large communal table for indoor seating, and a patio out front for those who wishes to dine outdoors. The staff here were friendly.I tried the following baked goods:- Lemon Currant Scone- Guava Danish- Mango Kouign Aman- Salted Caramel Croissant- Pabanan Croissant (Passionfruit, mango & banana)- Raspberry Pistachio Croissant- Big Island Macadamia Nut & Chocolate Croissant- Passionfruit DanishDietary restrictions: Gluten free options available but very limited selection“
“Passed by Tapas Kitchen in a hot afternoon. I was craving for a cold drink then so I decided to try mango smoothie. The smoothie is all made of fresh mango cuz I found mango pulp in it. It tastes so good and fresh. And I love its presentation. The frozen bear looks so cute on it. And probably cuz I was the only client and it was less busy then, the owner even generously offered to fill up my cup with the remaining smoothie in the blender.I will definitely come back not only for smoothies but also for food.———UpdateWas craving for some comfort food so I went today for fried chicken wings. This chicken wings exceeded my expectations. Very tasty. When I placed the order, I assumed I would get the ordinary fried chicken wings. (You know those wings sprinkled with salt and pepper.) The second I opened the container, I smelled a very nice fresh citrusy aroma from lemon zest on the chicken wings. The wings are crispy outside and tender inside. Very flavorful and not greasy at all. I really like the spices used for the wings.I would give the wing a 9/10. It would be perfect if it was a little bit more juicier. (It’s not dry at all though)“
“This was our first time dining here & we really enjoyed breakfast. The hostess was so kind & explained so much about the restaurant including the artwork & the QR code to add Instagram filters. Most of us had the 2 course breakfast prix fixe & enjoyed what we ordered. We look forward to returning to try the dinner menu.“
“Service could not have been nicer from the valet, hostess, servers, and managers. The tasting menu was great. The larger main courses were just enough to leave full. Nice mix of fish, venison, pasta, and vegetables. Highly recommend the patio seating for Friday night fireworks.“
“Decent service, we took our food back to hotel as it’s more of a to-go atmosphere for sure. The bowls are pretty interesting if you’ve had lots of poke and quality sushi. The spicy tuna and tuna was decent but the shrimp and salmon were quite subpar on the day we went. Some ingredients were fresh and others weren’t all that fresh.I’d honestly rate it a 3.5 objectively, esp. if it was more expensive. But since it’s decently priced for this area I will give it a 4.25 and round way up.There may be better options but they aren’t as convenient. Also the portion is pretty decent.Tl:Dr - it’s nothing to look forward to or even memorable, but it will fill your belly at a moderate price and decent size if you’re feeling poke.“
“The customer service is excellent. The employees were very cognizant of my wife's allergies and were able to contour the meal to fit. The quality of the fish is very fresh and the beef was braised to perfection. The shoyu sauce for my ahi was a smidge to salty, I dont recommend dumping the tub of poke over your rice.“
“service is impeccable.atmosphere is elegant without being stuffy.cocktails are delicious.gelato dessert was good.Food is good, the pasta has a nice bite to it, the sardines pasta was great, the Bolognese has a hint of balsamic however it made the dish a bit too sweet. I had to counter the sweetness with chili pepper flakes and Parmesan. The salads are amazing!“
“We always enjoy Happy Hour at Wai'Olu Ocean Cuisine, and this time the service, ambiance and the setting were all excellent. The food was also excellent, except for one item. The Shrimpburger has always been one of my favorites, but it would appear the new ownership overlooked the need for shrimp in the sandwich, as they were not there. The sandwich did have a shrimp paste of sorts, but was lacking taste and, as I indicated, shrimp. Overall experience was good, and Kelly was outstanding, but .........“
“Had happy hour steamed shrimp & tender fried calamari - excellent- rack of baby back ribs was awesome with yummy Brussel sprouts. Our server Keaka was sweet, always checking on us and efficient. Great food & service. The 32oz Mai Tai was fire!!!!“
“Had dinner to celebrate our anniversary. Thought we'd try something different. Started with the French Onion and lobster bisque soup...both were delicious! We decided to get their rolls with the different types of spreads. Didn't care for the one with the mushrooms in it. Hubby had the steak and I ordered the misoyaki Chilean seabass. I really enjoyed my dish! Hubby thought the steak tasted good. We were given a complimentary dessert which I thought was sweet and it was just enough to satisfy my sweet tooth. Ambiance was okay. We were sat by the window but on the side facing the parking lot. Would have been nice to have a better view and I did mention that it was our anniversary when I made the reservation but did not make a fuss when the hostess sat us. Plenty of parking. Good customer service. Probably a one and done for us as we're more of a steak place and not so much seafood kinda people.Parking: Was not an issue for us. We were able to park by the restaurant.“
“I'm a big fan of Uncle Bo's, so when I heard he opened up a place in Waikīkī, I had to stop by. TPH is on Lewers, just North of Kalākaua. We already had dinner, so we opted for dessert. The taro beignets a la mode hit the spot. They were light & airy, crispy and paired well w/ the Frangelico honey sauce and ice cream. Regarding the ambiance, its tiki bar in here. TPH has a lot of bar food (pupus), that I will have to return for. Our waiter Zach was super nice, and the beignets came out quickly. I think Uncle Bo's has three other places besides TPH. Hats off to him for being a successful restauranteur in a tough market.“
“I've tried this place several times and finally got a chance to write a review. I've always ordered the 2-choice(combination) Teishoku and tried different kinds of items. After every visit, I must say, everything was good! The quality and presentation is top notch. This time, I ordered the Chicken Teriyaki and Mini Chirashi combination. The chicken was excellent. It was soft, and the teriyaki sauce was very flavorful, not overwhelming. The mini Chirashi (which was an extra charge of $4) came with ahi, salmon, shrimp, tako, and ika. Everything was fresh and tasty, especially when slightly dipped in wasabi/shoyu sauce. Tan ordered the combination salmon and spicy ahi. I had a piece of salmon, and it was cooked to perfection. The Spicy Ahi(another extra charge of $3) was also flavorful. It was more on the creamy side than on a chunky side. Both combinations were served with miso soup and a bowl of greens. Hot tea was also included. The only downside of all my visits was that they always ran out of Ahi Tempura. We came in 15 minutes after opening at 5:15 pm, and it was sold out 5 minutes prior. Hot item!! I would have given them a 4 star, but the food quality and customer service were superior. It made up for that star. It was so good we made a salmon takeout order for tomorrows lunch.“
