“No Ka' Oi Thai Food by Nattaya is absolutely legit! Food Truck is located up Kaahumanu St by the Waiau Fire Station / District Park. The ladies are super friendly and their food is "over the top!" We tried their Gai Tod (fried chicken), Pad Thai, Pad See Ew, and Khua Kai. Needless to say, everything was super onolicious! Everything is made-to-order so be prepared wait for your order - well worth it! Payment is cash but if you use a credit card, tax will be added to your order. Biggest problem is No Ka Oi being open for business only on Thursdays and Fridays from 11 am - 4 pm. Warning - if you come after 1:00, they are often "sold out" and will close early. So come early and enjoy!“

“Sama Sama is amazing! I love what they are doing with unique Filipino-inspired flavors, collaborating with local artists to design cups, etc. You can tell that they use real ube, calamansi, and other actual ingredients instead of just artificial flavoring. Service is excellent too. There's no other boba/tea place on the island that does what they do! I enjoyed their drinks so much, I even hired them to cater our wedding. We had 4 flavors at a serviced bar, and it was an absolute hit. I plan to visit more often in the future and try out their coffee beverages. They also come out with new flavors every so often.“

But this place has some of the best burritos in town. 10/10 would recommend if visiting from the west coast and wanting that authentic style burritos. Also they have great homemade salsas to choose from that pair very well with each dish. Also highly recommend the quesadillas if you aren’t in the mood for a burrito.Parking: I recommend parking in the Whole Foods parking lot and walking across the street.“

“Blondie's is the best vegan restaurant on island in my opinion. It's the most similar to vegan comfort food that can be found in places like Portland and is really unlike any other food available on O'ahu. The atmosphere is lovely and the service is always top notch (Cybil is the absolute sweetest!). The restaurant is run by a mother-daughter duo and my heart is warmed every time I think of this. Even my non-vegan friends and family enjoy the food! Blondie's also happens to make my favorite smoothie of all time—the pipeline paradise. I have something of a smoothie obsession and I literally dream of this smoothie constantly. Highly recommend giving Blondie's a try!“

“Exploring around O’ahu and found this hidden gem. I love the menu in this local vegan store that is family run, making the atmosphere friendly! I primarily ordered their food, but apparently you can also do groceries with them. You can also order with free delivery around the island too. The food that we ordered was purely delicious and I would not hesitate going back here again (I just wished they were closer to where we were staying!). I also love their “Where are you from?” wall, and coming from Boston area, we certainly were amazed by the different people that have come and ordered vegan meals at the place. They have desserts and coffee too (we ordered the “Nutella” mocha and hibiscus tea), which complimented our meals.“

“So this place is super close to my condo so I asked my two friends if they'd like to check it out. Oahu is just generally so behind when it comes to quality Mexican food but I had high hopes. Anyway, ordered the three tacos with beans and rice. Two shredded beef and one chicken. The shredded beef tacos were on point, really delicious. The chicken taco was good but not quite as good as the beef. Whole pinto beans, very tasty. Sadly the rice wasn't so good, definitely lacking flavor but mixed with the beans okay. Overall, I was surprised. I've eaten Mexican food all over California, LA, San Diego etc and this was good. The tall guy taking orders I think could have been a bit friendlier, he seemed a little annoyed by some questions I had about the menu. So that and the rice knocked my rating from 5 to 4“

“I am a firm believer that some of the best food you can get in Hawaii comes from small, local food trucks like Flyin' Ahi. I finally got the chance to try them after wanting to go for years. Usually I wouldn't be able to because of work but I took advantage of the Veteran's Day holiday to make my way over. Located in Mililani Tech Park next to other food trucks. The baked crab stuffed Ono with truffle sauce caught my eye. But I also wanted to try their signature kalbi fries, plus spicy ahi poke... Luckily the kind owner was able to combine all that into one fat plate. Everything was amazing! The truffle cream sauce is to die for. The fries were fried up perfectly crispy with a generous portion of kalbi on top. And the spicy ahi was great too, I liked how it wasn't the usual mayo-based sauce.Service was super quick and friendly. The owner was generous enough to add some spicy ahi into the blackened ahi salad we got too. I'll definitely come back to this spot when I have another day off and want to treat myself.“

Double-checked to ensure we liked spicy food because the spicy sausage was indeed “en fuego”. I ordered the ribs and a sausage to try. So thankful I did. Flavor explosion and then a very nice kick. The ribs fell off the bone when I picked it up. Perfect amount of smoke, although Joe said he left them a bit too long for his own taste. Also just the right amount of BBQ sauce. Just enough that it didn’t take away from the meat flavor. Good sweetness to it. The big surprise was the coleslaw. Some of the best I’ve had. This place was well worth the price and a damned gem on O’ahu!“

I call their number (808) 800-1630 before I leave my house and it's ready by the time I get there (about 15 minutes). I keep coming back because no matter how busy they are, they always answer the phone. Nice local guys working this wagon. Old school charm where they recognize you after little while haha. Hard to find places like that nowadays. FYI, they only accept cash so go prepared! Might be a deal breaker for some but nothing major to me. Cash is king. They provide condiments at the wagon (ketchup, sriracha , Tabasco, shoyu, pepper etc.) so you can put whatever you want on your plate. Ditch your local deluxe platter, spend a little bit more and get a loaded breakfast plate from Lee's!“

“Passed by Tapas Kitchen in a hot afternoon. I was craving for a cold drink then so I decided to try mango smoothie. The smoothie is all made of fresh mango cuz I found mango pulp in it. It tastes so good and fresh. And I love its presentation. The frozen bear looks so cute on it. And probably cuz I was the only client and it was less busy then, the owner even generously offered to fill up my cup with the remaining smoothie in the blender.I will definitely come back not only for smoothies but also for food.———UpdateWas craving for some comfort food so I went today for fried chicken wings. This chicken wings exceeded my expectations. Very tasty. When I placed the order, I assumed I would get the ordinary fried chicken wings. (You know those wings sprinkled with salt and pepper.) The second I opened the container, I smelled a very nice fresh citrusy aroma from lemon zest on the chicken wings. The wings are crispy outside and tender inside. Very flavorful and not greasy at all. I really like the spices used for the wings.I would give the wing a 9/10. It would be perfect if it was a little bit more juicier. (It’s not dry at all though)“

“Peruvian food in Kaka'ako...Super easy to find this cute white food truck on Cooke Street right along side Mother Waldron Park every weekday (Monday thru Friday) 10am to 3pm and though I have no idea exactly what Peruvian cuisine are so I decided to check them out.Menu choices are small though each dish seems quite labor intensive with beef seems to be the protein of choice...Antichos (skewers), Hawaiian Juane (turmeric rice with teriyaki beef) and sides including empanada and Crab Causa all with pics and descriptions it's a matter of preference as each dish has some solid flavor qualities.Since I've already eaten I decided to keep it simple with an Empanada and though it's a decent size $7 is a bit leaving your wallet hungry considering just awhile ago they were selling it for $4 though generously filled with beef and various veggies which I taste potatoes, onions, roast peppers and raisins as this hearty bite is topped with huacatay sauce which was a nice herb and lime sauce that was just spectacular. The flavor explosion the put into just the empanada I can just imagine their main plates...gah!!! The gentleman was just a delight feeling on my unfamiliarity greeted with the usual "let me know if you have any questions" was just a delight asking it comes with a sauce and if I wanted it on top or the side and if I needed any utensils...all are very appreciated as I constantly leave forgetting it.
