“Lived in Kaneohe for over a yea without trying this place. I went today and the food was good and the service was excellent. Didn’t dine in but I saw how cordial and friendly the staff were. They knew so many people by name and were very friendly to everyone.

“Now called Javi’s. Food was great! The waitress was super nice and attentive. The food came out fast, hot, and fresh. I wish the queso dip wasn’t over $12, but the other dishes are reasonably priced. BYOB at the moment until they get their liquor license. There’s a market next door that might have alcoholic beverages. There’s parking lot is a little cramped, so massive trucks would be hard to park in there.“

“My son and I visited Ayame Curry And Ramen House for the first time this past Friday. We have to be cautious with any new restaurant because of allergies. I called beforehand, and the person on the phone was pleasant and assured me that the sauce would not affect our particular allergies.
We both had Combo Set C. This consisted of shoyu ramen, pork fried rice, and pork gyoza.
The ambiance was casual and relaxed. We walked in just after they opened, so there was no crowd. The greeter welcomed us warmly, presented us with a menu, and said that someone would be there to help us shortly. I asked about the ramen base and cooking oil, because of my shell fish and my son's peanut allergies. She assured us that they use a shoyu base, and would explain to the cooks about our allergy concerns. She was friendly, and helpful. We both appreciated that.
My son and I were already enjoying the peaceful atmosphere, and the quick, reassuring, pleasant service. When the food came we were delightfully surprised.
The scrumptious smell of the ramen filled the air as it was brought to our table. It was delectable to the eyes, as well as the olfactory senses. The gyoza, and fried rice came shortly afterward. All of our dishes were prepared promptly, and proficiently. The ramen was warm and savory. I normally don't like to finish the soup, because it has a tendency to be too salty. Not so with this sauce. It was perfect. My son commented that I inhaled, rather than discarded it, like I usually do. The fried rice was wonderful, an amalgamation of flavors brought together in an impeccable way. The gyoza effortlessly complimented this combo.
With great quality food, service, and ambiance, we will definitely be back here again, just as most of Kaneohe.“

“January 2026: Some workers barely speak and understand English. Depending on who is working the front of house, it may affect your experience and your order. But they are all very friendly. Smoothies are made with fresh fruits, not powder, and you can really taste the difference. The prices are all reasonable for the amount and quality you get. They have two tables that can seat 4 and one table that can seat 6. Otherwise, it's mostly a takeout type of restaurant. It's recommended to stand in line to order even if you're gonna dine-in.“

“Picked up party trays for a small New Year's celebration. The food was delicious and all our favorites: chicken katsu, gyoza, pork fried noodles, shabu beef curry. The curry can be messy in a tray but they double-wrapped it in foil to keep it from spilling. It is the best curry anywhere. Everyone at Sumo Ramen Kaneohe is always willing to do whatever it takes to make us happy. The prices are good too. They made our New Year special.“

He recommended 2 places, (I won't say the other one on this review, but it was also excellent!) He brought us to Coral Kingdom for the Huli Huli Chicken. It was so flavorful, juicy and delicious! The menu has a ton of things on it and we only tried three things (crab rangoon, asparagus with shrimp, and honey orange chicken). I would definitely get the asparagus with shrimp again, it was so good!
The honey orange chicken lacked much of the orange flavor, but it was decent. We will come back for sure, probably with a bigger group to share lots of things.“

With the first bite you could tell just how fresh it was - perfectly cooked and bursting with flavor. Just a heads up, there might be small hard time understanding sometimes due to the owner's accent. But be patient, communication works out, and the food is absolutely worth it. Parking can be tricky - it's one of those places we only go to when we see a spot open. We got lucky yesterday with an empty space, but two trucks swooped in as soon as we pulled in! Despite the potential parking hassle, Pan's Kitchen is a hidden gem. Highly recommend it for the incredible ahi (and hopefully a parking spot)!“

He also makes the best li-hing-mui margaritas! He checked on us consistently with out being overbearing. You get rice, a protein, and four choices of ban chan (veggie sides like kimchee or cooked bean sprouts).

The ambiance is definitely "greasy spoon", but the food is really good quality, and, since its take out only, you're only there for a few minutes, the dated decor is not really an issue.“

“This shop has been here for decades. You will always find wonderful things to eat. Take out and cash only. I recommend their spring and summer rolls. Tasty and filling. They have the usual Ba-Le menu and have added several Chinese dish selections which are also delicious. Not sure if they still do it, but in the past, they grew all their own Basil, mint and green onions. A very dedicated couple of owners who have weathered the pandemic and continue to provide that old familiar taste and service that we have come to know.“

“My daughter has a food allergy. We didn't realize that the food we ordered her had a sauce on top that she was allergic to, since we couldn't see it in the menu photo. We had to ask to have it remade. And, unfortunately, it was right as they were preparing to close for the day. The employees very kindly remade the meal. They took her allergy very seriously. It is obvious that they used care to make the new one and did not try to reuse the food from the previous order. “I recently moved to Kaneohe bay after getting married 4 months ago, Yakiniku Chodang would have to be my favorite korean bbq spot by far. It's never too crowded, kept clean and always has good service. My husband and I have been served by the same lovely person a few times though she wasn't here this time. That's okay as tonight's server was a chill guy with humor. Would very much recommend this place if you're hungry and don't want to wait :)“
