However, the kindness and hospitality here made the experience one to remember, and I left feeling both well-fed and welcomed.

The portions were generous enough for leftovers, and the flavors were just as delicious the next day after the herbs and sauces had blended into the broth. The restaurant itself also has a peaceful, relaxing atmosphere that made it easy to slow down and enjoy the meal.

“My son and I visited Ayame Curry And Ramen House for the first time this past Friday. We have to be cautious with any new restaurant because of allergies. I called beforehand, and the person on the phone was pleasant and assured me that the sauce would not affect our particular allergies.
We both had Combo Set C. This consisted of shoyu ramen, pork fried rice, and pork gyoza.
The ambiance was casual and relaxed. We walked in just after they opened, so there was no crowd. The greeter welcomed us warmly, presented us with a menu, and said that someone would be there to help us shortly. I asked about the ramen base and cooking oil, because of my shell fish and my son's peanut allergies. She assured us that they use a shoyu base, and would explain to the cooks about our allergy concerns. She was friendly, and helpful. We both appreciated that.
My son and I were already enjoying the peaceful atmosphere, and the quick, reassuring, pleasant service. When the food came we were delightfully surprised.
The scrumptious smell of the ramen filled the air as it was brought to our table. It was delectable to the eyes, as well as the olfactory senses. The gyoza, and fried rice came shortly afterward. All of our dishes were prepared promptly, and proficiently. The ramen was warm and savory. I normally don't like to finish the soup, because it has a tendency to be too salty. Not so with this sauce. It was perfect. My son commented that I inhaled, rather than discarded it, like I usually do. The fried rice was wonderful, an amalgamation of flavors brought together in an impeccable way. The gyoza effortlessly complimented this combo.
With great quality food, service, and ambiance, we will definitely be back here again, just as most of Kaneohe.“

“Lived in Kaneohe for over a yea without trying this place. I went today and the food was good and the service was excellent. Didn’t dine in but I saw how cordial and friendly the staff were. They knew so many people by name and were very friendly to everyone.

I wish I tried sooner because the spicy salmon and udon are delicious.

There’s a market next door that might have alcoholic beverages. There’s parking lot is a little cramped, so massive trucks would be hard to park in there.“

“We have lived in Kāneʻohe for more than 15 years, and throughout that time, we have wished for a local restaurant with great food, a pleasant atmosphere, and affordable prices. With Munga, I finally feel that we have found it.

To be honest, I am often skeptical of pan-Asian restaurants because trying to cover several cuisines can sometimes result in mediocre food across the board. What is so surprising about Munga is that they genuinely seem to pull it off. Their sushi is very good, their Thai dishes are excellent, and we have also really enjoyed their Chinese dishes.

If you have not been yet, I strongly recommend giving Munga a try. I am really rooting for this restaurant to succeed so that we can continue to count on having a delicious, affordable, and welcoming option close to home—without having to drive all the way into town.“

“January 2026: Some workers barely speak and understand English. Depending on who is working the front of house, it may affect your experience and your order. But they are all very friendly. Smoothies are made with fresh fruits, not powder, and you can really taste the difference. The prices are all reasonable for the amount and quality you get. They have two tables that can seat 4 and one table that can seat 6. Otherwise, it's mostly a takeout type of restaurant. It's recommended to stand in line to order even if you're gonna dine-in.“

“We had a tour guide take us around the Island. We wanted to go to an authentic place to eat, not fancy touristy restaurants. He recommended 2 places, (I won't say the other one on this review, but it was also excellent!) He brought us to Coral Kingdom for the Huli Huli Chicken. It was so flavorful, juicy and delicious! We loved the relaxed atmosphere and good food. After we ate, we went shopping and got some cute souvenirs. I'm so glad we didn't miss this spot.“

“Impressed by Pan's Kitchen yesterday! I ordered the fresh grilled ahi, and let me tell you, it was incredible. With the first bite you could tell just how fresh it was - perfectly cooked and bursting with flavor. Just a heads up, there might be small hard time understanding sometimes due to the owner's accent. But be patient, communication works out, and the food is absolutely worth it. Parking can be tricky - it's one of those places we only go to when we see a spot open. We got lucky yesterday with an empty space, but two trucks swooped in as soon as we pulled in! Despite the potential parking hassle, Pan's Kitchen is a hidden gem. Highly recommend it for the incredible ahi (and hopefully a parking spot)!“

“First time coming to Saito and Pho. It was very quick to get seated. We also got our food within like 10-15 minutes. The chicken Katsu was nice and crispy and with the side order of curry was also good. The curry was not spicy but was also thick enough for it to work well with the Katsu. Overall, it kinda gave a nice mom and pop kinda restaurant where it felt like you just came back home.“

“Picked up party trays for a small New Year's celebration. The food was delicious and all our favorites: chicken katsu, gyoza, pork fried noodles, shabu beef curry. The curry can be messy in a tray but they double-wrapped it in foil to keep it from spilling. It is the best curry anywhere. Everyone at Sumo Ramen Kaneohe is always willing to do whatever it takes to make us happy. The prices are good too. They made our New Year special.“

Sometines it may take a while if going around closing time or when short staffed, but trust me it is always worth it. Miso butterfish is exceptional and brings to mind Shirokia top floor food court from back in the 90s as well as Tsukigi in Japan.

He also makes the best li-hing-mui margaritas! He checked on us consistently with out being overbearing. Don't let the mall location fool you this place is a sleeper and I'm glad it hasn't blown up like others who I'd say don't deserve it. Yes there's institutions like soons or dong yang but bang for your buck this place slaps harder than both. Despite the covid induced price increases this place still heaps the portions and continues to be arguably the best seasoned meat jun I've had no sauce aside. “This shop has been here for decades. You will always find wonderful things to eat. Take out and cash only. I recommend their spring and summer rolls. Tasty and filling. They have the usual Ba-Le menu and have added several Chinese dish selections which are also delicious. Not sure if they still do it, but in the past, they grew all their own Basil, mint and green onions. A very dedicated couple of owners who have weathered the pandemic and continue to provide that old familiar taste and service that we have come to know.“

“My daughter has a food allergy. We didn't realize that the food we ordered her had a sauce on top that she was allergic to, since we couldn't see it in the menu photo. We had to ask to have it remade. And, unfortunately, it was right as they were preparing to close for the day. The employees very kindly remade the meal. They took her allergy very seriously. It is obvious that they used care to make the new one and did not try to reuse the food from the previous order. We are so thankful for how kindly they treated us and how quickly they remade the meal. Thank you for fantastic service and keeping my daughter safe! We will definitely be coming back.

I didnt realize it, but this has been my baseline fried rice to judge all other fried rice❤️ Pork hash wrapper was a little thicker than I'm used to, but the filling was so good with the hot mustard. Nice size gau gee as well and the stuffed bittermelon was delicious! The lady dishing up the orders was pleasant and kind. Can't wait to go back for more.“
