“So good! Driving up to the North Shore from the airport we wanted something local. Family owned. No frills just awesome chicken. So juicy. We all had sandwiches and the pulled chicken is more like chunks with some pulled. Not overly shredded. And not doused with sauce. Just a nice enhancement. We had the melts and they were delicious. The bread is crusty but soft inside. An easy bite. And my son loved his Cajun fries. Off street parking in the rear.“

“Visited this place for the first time - and honestly it was the highlight of my day even before I got my take out order. It’s hard to find- but the best restaurants sometimes are. Super clean and cute inside- with a great soundtrack playing. The front clerk was so gracious and warm to everyone. Though I could have ordered ahead- the wait wasn’t very long. The burrito had to weigh about 2 pounds- it was definitely enough to feed two- and it was sooo good. The sauce on the side was fire 🔥 (literally too hot for me). But while some like it hot, anyone who likes good Mexican food is going to love Barrio Cafe.“

“This place was clean, friendly and had great quick service. My family ordered the Loco Moco platter and loved it, my son had the banana pancakes and said they were the “Best Pancakes” he ever had. I had the Portuguese sausage, eggs and Pancakes. It was great! Definitely shareable as well if you don’t want too much to eat.“

“While the flavors are great, skip the shrimp tacos. For $20, two small shrimp per taco is frugal. You end up eating mostly tortilla and cabbage. Either think the tortillas or be generous and add a third shrimp! Better to purchase the mixed taco or any of the other proteins.

Update: I spoke with the owner, Joseph, who apologized for the error on our order and ensured this won't happen again. Our other dishes were generously portioned and overall, the spices and quality of ingredients were 👌🏼.“

“Kilani Bakery is the ABSOLUTE BEST bakery in Hawaii!! Kilani Bakery has the most delicious brownies ever!! Those brownies are so incredibly delicious that they give you options to choose from! “My Friend and I ordered corn beef hash. DA Bes in town. Friend wanted his eggs soft scrambled. Our waitress, Rhea, knew exactly how it's made as many establishments overcook them. She said she would inform the cook. They were served exactly as my friend, Bob, wanted. Great service even with a full house. We will become regulars for sure!!!!!“

“It's rare to find a place so cheap and yet so delicious! I was dropping off my old man and found out about a unicorn in today's economy a solid breakfast, plate lunch or bento all 20 bucks or less. Now okazuyas been my jam since baby days but this place takes the cake. I got the shock and awe breakfast for 5 DOLLARS! And I'll happily say it again for the people in the back. For 2 eggs a solid set of meat and rice I can't complain. I love my set scrambled and they did it quite well. Outside of the cash only part which id definitely forget going again (which I understand why) its a perfect place for your pre work meal or even during! It boggles me how this place was hated on.“

“We had the seafood combo, the teriyaki steak bowl, double cheeseburger deluxe, chicken sandwich and two orders of fries , 3 fountain drinks and a coconut water. Steak bowl was small but it was very filling. Burger was huge and so was the chicken sandwich. Seafood combo was delicious. Definitely recommend“

“I had such a great experience at 2 Mom Kitchen! The meat jun was tender, & flavorful, and the bibimbap was fresh, & colorful. The lady at the counter welcomed me with such kindness. While it’s not a full sit-down restaurant, there’s a small table with three chairs where you can wait comfortably for your order. And the free street parking makes stopping by so easy. I can’t wait to come back and try more from their menu.“

“It's been about 4 years since I've moved off island and I think about this place AT LEAST once a week. Best pho I have ever had and the chicken rolls and all the sauce with veggies that come with it 🤤

On the back of the menu, it says BYOB and my husband said I'll be back...lol! He went right to the drug store and got a 6 pk. We will definitely back!“

“Ordered the Mahi katsu. Taste delicious, value for cost, excellent. The plate was just under 14 dollars and there were 4 count um 4 full sized pieces of fish. They have many side dishes to choose from as well. If you are a fish lover, this is the plate you've been looking for.“

“I used to come here in the 90’s when I was working with a mechanical contractor and it was one of my favorite place on the island with $2.50 BBQ chicken plate! I heard there was ownership change 2017 or so but I still came back for old times sake. Actually the food was really great quality and delicious. We had the Kalbi which was really savory and had the right amount of fat. The BBQ chicken also delicious but no longer bone in so I missed that a little. The beef soup
Is still excellent! My daughter says they use marrow, I don’t know but I haven’t found that anywhere else. I was happy to see that the awesome historical photos were still there though hidden in a hallway. I was there for the remodel when the benches and photos were put in, maybe 1996? Only major difference was the price, I definitely wouldn’t be able to afford as a daily lunch. But still delicious and really enjoyed. I’ll come again“

The pork with gravy was their most popular plate however, I went for the fried pork with noodles. Very simple and very delicious. If in the area it’s a lil good hole in the wall to try out.“
