“My son and I visited Ayame Curry And Ramen House for the first time this past Friday. We have to be cautious with any new restaurant because of allergies. I called beforehand, and the person on the phone was pleasant and assured me that the sauce would not affect our particular allergies.
We both had Combo Set C. This consisted of shoyu ramen, pork fried rice, and pork gyoza.
The ambiance was casual and relaxed. We walked in just after they opened, so there was no crowd. The greeter welcomed us warmly, presented us with a menu, and said that someone would be there to help us shortly. I asked about the ramen base and cooking oil, because of my shell fish and my son's peanut allergies. She assured us that they use a shoyu base, and would explain to the cooks about our allergy concerns. She was friendly, and helpful. We both appreciated that.
My son and I were already enjoying the peaceful atmosphere, and the quick, reassuring, pleasant service. When the food came we were delightfully surprised.
The scrumptious smell of the ramen filled the air as it was brought to our table. It was delectable to the eyes, as well as the olfactory senses. The gyoza, and fried rice came shortly afterward. All of our dishes were prepared promptly, and proficiently. The ramen was warm and savory. I normally don't like to finish the soup, because it has a tendency to be too salty. Not so with this sauce. It was perfect. My son commented that I inhaled, rather than discarded it, like I usually do. The fried rice was wonderful, an amalgamation of flavors brought together in an impeccable way. The gyoza effortlessly complimented this combo.
With great quality food, service, and ambiance, we will definitely be back here again, just as most of Kaneohe.“

“Picked up party trays for a small New Year's celebration. The food was delicious and all our favorites: chicken katsu, gyoza, pork fried noodles, shabu beef curry. The curry can be messy in a tray but they double-wrapped it in foil to keep it from spilling. It is the best curry anywhere. Everyone at Sumo Ramen Kaneohe is always willing to do whatever it takes to make us happy. The prices are good too. They made our New Year special.“

“Went there earlier today and got the wafu steak with the sashimi, tempura(5pcs), and miso soup(included). And lemme tell you they have the most ono wafu steak. You could tell that steak was marinated. It was tender and juicy. You know when your order is ready when the whole restaurant smells like steak. I would definitely recommend trying the wafu steak. It feeds a family of 3 for 30 bucks.“

“As a puertorican picky eater I was skeptical but I was AMAZED! I ordered the cold noodles with Bbq Chicken and Sweet Chili Shrimp. Delicious, I ate everything on the plate. My family all ordered something different and every plate was empty. A must try place!“

“My favorite place to get freshly made Pansit, Miki soup noddles, and Won Ton Wrappers. They also make various noodles and wraps such as Chow mein, Chow funn, Saimin, Mandoo wrap, Udon, Suimai wrap, and their new: Kaigushu noddles. Each items are fairly priced per pound. Recommend coming here for freshly made noddles/wraps.“

“Went to Sun Noodle today(Saturday) because my daughter wanted a ramen bar for her Birthday tomorrow. The nice lady upstairs in the office helped me pick out a specific type of noodle from their product catalog after I described what type of noodles my daughter likes and she also explained to me how the numbers of the noodles correspond to the thickness. I got 15 orders ( 3, 5 packs) of freshly made noodles, tonkotsu and tan tan broth to go with it. Ordering was super easy, you go back downstairs to the outside, walk to the right, press the buzzer on the right hand side of the adjoining warehouse, another girl came out with my order, processed my credit card payment and off I went. Fast, simple and very economical. This was my first time going there although we eat ramen everywhere Sun Noodle distributes their noodles. Love their products, will surely go there again to stock up on my daughter's favorite food, Ramen!!!“

“Great Chinese noodles and Won Ton wrappers. I especially like their Egg Chow Mein noodles. Much better than what you can find in the supermarkets. I buy 3 pounds of noodles at a time. It lasts a couple of weeks in the refrigerator and can be frozen if you need it to last longer. Prices have gone up a little but always a good buy.“

“We've been island hopping during our time in Hawaii, and this has proven to be our favorite sushi spot so far!

We ordered the Phoenix, Kaiser Futomaki, and Sushi Spot signature rolls. Hands down all top tier rolls, you won't be disappointed by any of them. And dont count out the hot cheeto dust on the sushi spot signature roll, it actually works really well!“

“Food was good and came out quickly. Portion sizes were pretty good, and cooking seemed like it was more home-style and less tourist focused, which was appreciated. I got the beef chow fun, the person that I went with got the beef rice soup.“

“Was super indecisive about lunch today. Came to this shopping center to eat somewhere else but saw this and decided to give it a shot instead and I'm glad I did! The AC was broke so a little hot inside but it's hawaii so not uncommon. I got the 12oz steak plate with noodles 🤤. Noodles and steak were well seasoned, steak was tender and the rice had all the flavor of the steak on top of it. If you're looking for a steak plate place in Waipahu this would be my recommendation!“

“Had a chance to step back in time and visit Palace Saimin. It's a cute little old school restaurant serving up hearty bowls of Saimin. I opted for Wonmin which had about 6 very delicious wontons plus good quality noodles laced with little bits of chopped barbecue pork and chopped scallions in semi clear dashi broth. The beef sticks are amazing! I went with two, I probably could have ate six! Service was friendly and polite and the prices are extremely reasonable.“

“Really enjoyed Dew Drop Inn. The place has a very local, casual feel, which made the meal even better. We tried a few different dishes, including the mapo tofu, fried rice, pan-fried dumplings, rice, and the fried small fish with fish eggs inside, probably shishamo or capelin. Everything was good, but the fried roe-filled fish was easily the highlight. It was crispy, flavorful, and really satisfying. The mapo tofu was also rich and comforting with rice. Definitely a spot I’d come back to, especially for that fried fish dish.“

“My favorite place to get spicy noodle soup with beef. I love paring my noodle bowls with their house friend rice. I have come across many fried rice in my life and this has to be my favorite. On difficult days, I come here to lift my spirits and fill my stomach. On happy days I also come here to celebrate. Very small place but the wait feels like it never happened once their flavors are gliding through your tastebuds. The house beef is well flavored and although the tenderness varies at every visit, as whole, it is outstanding. This local favorite spot for Vietnamese food is made with high quality ingredients and sends you home not just with the lovely flavors lingering but a sense of wellbeing. Nothing really warms you like a good pho some days; they take no shortcuts with the home made broth which as you know if you ever thought “oh I’ll just make that at home,” takes *all* *day* to make pho broth. )Some places, not naming names, take some easy shortcuts on the broth. “Wow…we loved our meals. We stopped here by quickly on our way from Waikiki to the airport, and easily found street parking. The vermicelli bowls with lemongrass chicken & tofu (and a banh mi with pork + chicken) were so fresh, so filling, and really high quality. Delicious Vietnamese iced coffee. The service was kind, as well. Highly recommend for a relaxed & high quality meal!!“

“Came here for breakfast and ordered a bowl of wonton saimin. The broth was light and comforting, while the noodles were pleasantly chewy. I enjoyed the wontons, which were perfect “one-biters,” well-seasoned, and delicious. Service was friendly and engaging. The place has history and has been around for a long time, making it fun to visit and see locals enjoying their meals. Parking can be difficult, but it is worth it for the food. Also, it's cash only so leave the cc tuck away.“

“This is, by far, the best noodle place in town in my opinion. The pricing is fair, the food is delicious, and the service is impeccable.
I also want to give a shout-out to the server whom I dealt with just now. I always ask for more sauce for the fried chicken appetizer. For most people, the amount they give is probably enough, but I am a glutton for the stuff. She gave me extra for my to-go order, but when I got home (only a few blocks away), I decided that I still wanted more. When I went back, she gave me two more servings and refused to charge me for them. I was absolutely adamant that I at least give her an extra tip for the trouble. She seemed bothered by this, but I left the money on the counter, thanked her, and walked away.
To the server: I'm sorry that I did not get your name so that I'm not able to truly thank you properly, but I appreciate you and you absolutely deserve every bit of that tip.
To the management: thank you so much for everything you do. Your food is incredible, and your staff is wonderful.

“A rather hidden gem in the tower marketplace.

Food was ready quickly and came with a generous portion of all the mentioned toppings. The poached egg and pork shoulder were cooked to perfection, everything was richly flavored. and at 12 dollars a bowl it's a steal compared to similar meals you could get elsewhere.“

“The great thing about this place is you can add your name to the waitlist on Yelp. I didn’t really need to do it this time, as when I came, we got a table right away, didn’t even need to check in.

The restaurant isn’t very loud for how many people are there, which is great.

Service is also quick, I ordered the Shoyu ramen and Katsu curry combo, and my partner ordered the Tonkotsu Ramen. It took less than 5 minutes for both our food to come out. My partner said that her ramen was good and that it’ll be a place we’ll come back, which is a great sign from her. Next time I will try something else though. I liked the katsu curry, but the shoyu ramen was just “OK” to me, I’m more used to the broth being a little more umami. But overall it’s a good place, will come back again .“

“Food was very good. Fresh. Lots of bean sprouts, basil, Vietnamese lettuce. Had the summer (tofu) fresh rolls with peanut sauce and Pho Tai. Love Pho, I've eaten around the world including Vietnam and top Pho places in Toronto and this unassuming place was exceptional.“

“Nicely decorated izakaya at City Market Plaza. We tried its signature lunch omakase with Wagyu beef, veggies, ramen, tofu and veggies. It also came with green tea and a mochi dessert. The meat was very good and veggies were fresh, but the beef based soup was the winner. The service was excellent and friendly. We will come back to try its other dishes. Note: this place is one of the only eateries that closes after lunch period is over and reopens later for dinner.

Update Dec 2025: it’s been a while since we’d dined here. W tried its Kamaaina special , which was chopped up ribeye with rice. It was tasty as other dishes we had here. The service was friendly as before. There’s a $20 AYCE hotpot deal that looked good as well. Maybe next time.“
