Just a heads up, there might be small hard time understanding sometimes due to the owner's accent. But be patient, communication works out, and the food is absolutely worth it. Parking can be tricky - it's one of those places we only go to when we see a spot open. We got lucky yesterday with an empty space, but two trucks swooped in as soon as we pulled in! Despite the potential parking hassle, Pan's Kitchen is a hidden gem. Highly recommend it for the incredible ahi (and hopefully a parking spot)!“

My order was taken by an employee named Jerald. I was indecisive at first because of their veriety on their menu however he stayed patient with me and actually recommended a few things to try. I ended up setting on the smash jack meal with fries and a coke. The burger for starters was cooked to perfection and the fries were super crispy and delicious. “South Shore Grill has been part of my routine for close to 20 years. It’s a family‑run business with a lot of heart, and I’ve watched the owners’ kids grow up working behind the counter. The only knock on this place is the parking. This has got to be one of the worst if not the worst parking lots ever. So difficult to park and then leave especially if you have a large vehicle. “Operating out of a yakiniku restaurant, this place is a gem! Amazing smash burger. I’ve gone three times in the past couple of weeks and each time did not disappoint. I’m a creature of habit so I got the Double OG3 Deluxe and OG3 Fries. One friend got the Waygu, one the plain cheeseburger, and another the same as me and all loved it. Fries are nice and crispy with the special OG3 sauce. Reminiscent of In-n-out animal style fries, but fries are crinkle cut and much better than In-n-out. Highly recommend if you like a good smash burger!“

He was so adamant that I had to get something from this smash burger truck. I grabbed a double smash burger with grilled onions and a mango lemonade.

Everything was bussing. Especially for the price… you can’t beat it.

I definitely recommend everyone to try it yourself. The bun was grilled, the patty was well seasoned and the bacon bits that were on there definitely made this burger a 9.5/10.

“Originally recommended to me by my former boss, Island Sub is a classic, no-nonsense spot. I have to confess: in my opinion, they have the absolute best onion rings in Hawaii. They don't make them from scratch—they are pre-cooked, frozen, and shipped—but whatever they do in the kitchen to fry them makes them unbeatable. Hands down, the best.

While I've tried a few different items over the years, my absolute go-to is the Meatball Sub. I usually order the half size, but this time I treated myself to the full. It’s a beautifully simple combination of tomato sauce, melted cheese, and meatballs, and I’ve never had a single complaint about it.

It’s a wonderful family-owned business where the husband holds down the kitchen and the wife manages the front of the house. They’ve been running it this way since well before COVID. The restaurant itself hasn't changed at all in the ten years I've been visiting, even though the surrounding strip mall has undergone some modern renovations. The interior does look a little run-down and dated, but that's alright—I usually take my food back to the office rather than dining in anyway.

I am very picky on my fries (can't be too thick, crispy outside that holds up underside (doesn't get too soggy), still be soft inside, well seasoned) and these fit the mold. If you go later in the day they may run out of some food supplies, but everything is fresh and made to order. You can upgrade the regular fries to Loco fries in a meal. Overall it will cost anywhere form 27 to 35 bucks for a meal. But thats Hawaii life eh. MUST TRY.“

“The food was so good! Ok, there's no indoor dining and the outdoor dining is really rough but during our meal there the locals seemed to love it and for good reason. This is what I imagine authentic Hawaiian BBQ for the working man is like. When you go to a BBQ place and see the orange construction either shirts, is probably going to be good and it was. The girl at the register recommend the beef short ribs and they were amazing. My wife had the teriyaki chicken and it had amazing flavor, though a bit overcooked, I still finished it if for her gladly. My only warning: one dish is plenty for two hungry people! We were getting ready to head to the airport and didn't want any to go to waste, so we have half to a mother with four teenage boys. They were 😊. Definitely will return next time we visit the island.“

“Going to Jane's Fountain felt like I traveled back in time to one of those old school diner places. On that day, I had the Hamburger Steak. It is one of the best on the island. My only complaint was that there was only one hamburger patty. I would definitely pay extra for the 2nd patty.“
