“Hidden Gem in the Neighborhood!We stumbled upon Hangry Mama Bar & Kitchen last night, a true hidden gem in our neighborhood that has been delighting locals for a year now. The fried noodles, rib eye steak, and the pork belly wrap on a sizzling plate were all top-notch. The pork belly wrap with cheese and sauce was incredibly scrumptious, making a return visit inevitable to explore more of their enticing menu. The ambiance is fantastic, staff are friendly and welcoming, and the cleanliness of both the place and restroom is commendable. The AC unit works wonders, and the decor adds to the overall charm. Karaoke was a blast and a special shout-out to Shania for making our experience even more enjoyable. Thank you, Hangry Mama, for a memorable evening! “I recently visited Uncle Troy's during a layover in Honolulu and I must say that I had a wonderful experience. I thoroughly enjoyed the fried noodles with spam, cocktails, and shots during my time. I also need to give huge shout out and thank you to Priscilla aka "Silla" because she was sweet, attentive, and provided the BEST customer service during my experience. Plus, they have karaoke! If I am ever in Honolulu again, I will be sure to visit Uncle Troy's. Thank you so much, Silla!“
“Solid Japanese meal. Sushi seemed a little overpressed. Wish they'd offered green tea with the meal rather than at the end. Busy tonight, but nice service. Shave ice size got smaller this year. Key lime pie was nice. Ice cream/sorbet kinda steep price.“
“After a medical procedure in Pearl City, we decided to grab lunch at Daiichi Ramen. The food here was really good and the service was great. My mom really enjoyed Shrimp curry. Generous portions- crispy light battered shrimp and curry with nice chunky well cooked veggie pieces. My Mochiko chicken was yummy. Lots of flavor with the spices. My husband had the Pork fried rice with a side order of Chicken Katsu which he liked and we all three shared croquettes and gyoza. The gyoza was full of flavor and very tasty. The croquettes were good- I prefer them more on the crispy side, but it’s a minor thing. Staff was very nice & helpful. Packed my order nicely in a box taped down well for the ride home in the truck and opened the door for me to leave. The Inside was small but clean and parking was decent- gets much busier during lunchtime of course, so come earlier if decide to check it out. Mahalo for reading and have a Beautiful Day! ??“
“The 3 young gentleman working Tuesday night around 7pm were very kind, upfront we were greeted immediately and the 2 cooking were fast professional and the food presentation was PERFECT! Soooo happy my husband and I decided to go in here instead of Buffalo Wild Wings. This food was healthier and tasted AMAZING! “there’s no shortage of good poke bowls in honolulu. this place is above average definitely but just short of special. its a solid takeout counter with very limited seating. i love that they give you miso soup on the side, which is awesome. i got the crunch bowl, and appreciated that they fresh fried the ebi tempura, instead of a big batch that sat around. so the owners really care about quality and presentation. i also like that they didn’t drown it in sauce. i think some may balk at the smaller portions, but it was just right for me. good choice if you are in the area“
“From the host to the servers and the bartenders, everyone was incredibly friendly and fun. We stayed an extra long time and felt welcome the whole time. Thank you to the staff for the great hospitality. Chef Chai didn't make it to our table, but it was nice seeing him in the restaurant mingling with customers.“
“We had an absolutely amazing experience! I ordered the vegan 4 course and my friend had the Chef's 10 course. First of all, it's difficult to find a vegan course menu from a fine dinning restaurant, the taste was outstanding! From the, beet salad, curried chow fun noodles, chickpea Madras over rice and finally the mango tapioca..every dish was perfection! My friend enjoyed every dish as well she said everything was absolutely delightful. She especially had high praises for the Samoan crab shumai, duck confit katsu bao, squid luau agnolotti and the condensed, flavorful, out of this world 90 day dry age beef.The strawberry panna cotta was to die for! First unsure if she could finish a 10 course meal but she finished everything happily! We had the most delightful first class dinner, thank you PAI Honolulu. You are one of the BEST Restaurant in town!“
“I arrived and started looking over the menu and at all of their different sushi/bento combos. Very overwhelming to navigate for my first time, but no big deal I eat sushi 100+ times /year. Sometimes every day twice a day.I ended up ordering the salmon/ahi poke bowl along with a samurai Maki. I also tried to order a "tuna avocado maki". This is where my problems started. The guy taking orders told me "we don't have that on the menu". I asked, can you make it for me and charge whatever you need to charge. He doubled down and said "we can't do that. We can make the spicy ahi Maki or an ahi hand roll and add avocado". Again I said, I don't want that. That comes with cucumber and spicy tuna. I would like a Maki roll with ahi tuna and avocado, that is all.At this point he still refused to make it so I said forget it, ill just stick with the poke bowl and samurai roll.When my food arrived (I ate in the location), he pushed the tray too hard at me and spilled the miso soup. (Not a lot, but I could tell he didn't like me from our exchange about the tuna avocado Maki and this was probably a subconscious action. He asked if I wanted another, I said no its fine.Lastly, the spoon for the miso soup is basically flat. I had a very difficult time eating with the spoon because you can't pick up any liquid with it. I ended up just picking up the bowl and drinking.The flavor and quality of the sushi was excellent and I had no issues along those lines.I hope this review helps the owner / management correct a few service related issues to improve this location!“
“They excel at everything. They make the best burger I have ever had in my life and make it with precision every time I get it. I don't think they make an item that I don't love. Friends all agree. It's where we go for celebrations. I love their coffee.Vegetarian options: They make all food excellent. However they really do their best with meat and fish.Wheelchair accessibility: They were able to accommodate my wheelchair. It's tight but folks help when asked.“

“Delicious and thoughtful tasting menu with wine pairing. Fresh and flavorful ingredients with friendly and professional service. I am a big man (6'5", 240 lbs.) and I suggested I might still be hungry after the tasting menu, so our server gave us sliders on the house, which filled me right up and were delicious. “I am blown away this place was great! When I go to Vietnamese restaurants I susally order the beef combination pho with no tendon. But this place already had it on the menu without tendon! The flavor is all there with their dishes & they have a special lemongrass dipping sauce. They give with all your orders, so good!!“

“We had the fish and chips and the brisket. The brisket was absolutely amazing. The flavors were complex in the meat was very tender. The fish and chips were delicious. There was nothing left on our plate afterwards.We enjoyed the pineapple tea and that was very refreshing as well. We finished it off with a delicious, soft peanut butter cookie. This may look like a cafeteria, but this food is high-end restaurant quality.“
“Looking forward to coming back ! Their handmade rolls are very unique and pack a flavorful punch. It was a first time experience biting into an eggroll that had a range from avocado to shrimp to burger meat. When I went there, the different types of flavors presented were: the traditional vietnamese roll, a crab rangoon roll, in & out roll, taco roll, shrimp roll, bacon & egg roll, and avocado roll. It was super hard to choose just a couple to try out, so instead I just got the sampler which is where you get each roll.My personal favorite would have to be either the avocado or taco roll. When eating the avocado roll, it tasted very fresh and vibrant. In the avocado roll there’s onion, tomato, and cilantro. All combined makes an amazing roll to enjoy with all friends and family. What I’m most shocked about is that the rolls are never soggy and are not burnt.The workers at the local farmers market were a pleasure to meet. When waiting you could jam out to their music which is what I did. Definitely should ask how they choose the name for the taco roll, it’s a silly and cute story. 10/10 would go again to grab some of their amazing rolls and vibe with music“

“The service from my male waiter at the bar seat on Thursday night was superb. He helped me order half portion as I was alone and gave good recommendations. The meat in the Pho 75 melts in your mouth. The escargot dish is a wonderful texture journey and a 10/10 down : fluffy outer crust and soft juicy escargot inside. The ahi toast was a pretty good intro dish. The fried chicken wing was good but not too special.The portion is generous , I was way too full at the end (4 dishes).“
“This is by the Kapolei theaters, the older one. We came on a Saturday after noon a little after lunch around 230pm and it was empty...just how I like it lol the workers were nice to greet us and the place was really clean. The place was pretty spacious I must say. Our server took out orders and always filled our waters. You cannot beat ordering the combo meal. I got the mini ramen with black garlic which was additional. My sides were takoyaki and mini curry. I must say, the mini curry wasn't mini it was pretty regular size looking lol I couldn't finish most of it so we took it home and had it for dinner. Everything tasted great! I did however take down a star because we ordered gyoza but the server did not mention anything about getting free gyoza during their happy hour until we paid and got in our car and seen the window display. Our fault also we should've looked prior.“

“Uncle's Chicken is a small chicken shop located near Sakana in Kalihi. I placed a 5 chicken sandwich order around 11:20 and was quoted 15 minutes. I left downtown to grab the food right after and my food was ready by the time I got there. Very impressive chicken sandwich. I got the spicy one and it was only spicy in certain parts of my sandwich, which is why I gave minus one star. It seems like I was eating the original sandwich and put hot sauce in one spot of my sandwich. Other than that, the chicken was moist and crispy. The bread was so good. Seemed like a sweet bread bun. Definitely put the sandwich together. I think one thing I wish they included was pickles. That would make the sandwich complete! I would definitely come back if I was ever in the area. Their boba drinks look very impressive too.“
“This is review is long over due. Dell's Kitchen is one my goto spots for an affordable plate local/japanese food. I've tried their Kawagoe Karaage, Kurobuta Pork Katsu, and Nori Chicken. The Karaage is my favorite and the most affordable as well. It comes with a sweet mustard dipping sauce, a coleslaw type salad, rice, and some other veggies. The portions are generous. And they have a dining area inside with complimentary water. They also have a sister restaurant next door that serves pasta dishes. Highly recommend this restaurant if in the mood for some good tasting and affordable local Japanese food.“

“Made a reservation for 5 people at 6:00 PM, was a few minutes behind seating us but not a big deal. Ordered the Specialty Thick Cut Pork Loin Katsu set which was delicious. I'm a fan of both pork and chicken katsu's and felt the quality was worth it. Note the specialty orders they only carry so much per day. Late Dinner times might not have any left.Any Katsu set comes with unlimited Miso Soup, Cabbage, and rice. Had at least 1 refill of each side which was perfect for me after being in the sun and hiking all day.Would recommend a reservation for any party bigger than 2. Saw some folks ordering take out. We did not park here as our hotel was 1 mile away and decided to walk instead of taking the rental car.“
“This is my favorite Pho in Waikiki, maybe in all of Oahu! Food is great, owners are amazing. Support this local business!!! My recommendation is the vermicelli salad with shrimp, so ono. DO NOT park at 7-eleven, good chance you will get towed. I watched 2 vehicles get towed in 30 minutes. My husband loves their pho. For the pic I posted I got extra shrimp and no spring roll. Trying to be healthier... but I did miss the fried deliciousness!!!“

“This cafe is a place you MUST try!Parking: There is a lot of parking spaces near the cafe. My family parked at a paid parking space for $7 dollars for an hour (this is including tax). There were also free spots you could park at.Kid-friendliness: The owner, his wife, and their mother in law very extremely kind and welcoming. They recognize peoples faces and know their names. They all have beautiful big smiles and the kids loved them and the food! They also had conversations with our kids and gave us free tapioca deserts! Wonderful people, best place we ate at hawaii, and will definitely try again when we come back!Wheelchair accessibility: My family and I ate in and saw many people with wheelchairs enter the cafe. They have lots of seating and have a wide door so it is very accessible for people with and without wheelchairs.“
“Went here for lunch the other day with the work buddy. It's been a while since I ate here, so wanted to check if it still had the ono grinds. I didn't eat breakfast, so I decided to the BEAST BOWL. Wish we could've got some midday libations but we were still working. It wasn't that crowded when we were seated but by the time we left it was getting full. Got my BEAST BOWL, oh my words it had the meats, the umami, the meats, the noodles, the meats, the gooey egg, did I mention the MEATS. According to work buddy, I could've just said some of the meat and had it later with rice as snack or something, but why would I do that, you needs to eat all of the MEATS. I mean buggah was very filling and I am bulking for the summer. Hah. Anyways, the brisket and short ribs were soooo tender. The oxtail won ton, wrapped meaty goodness. I shouldn't have eaten it all, but I had to. Broth was nice and rich. KANAK ATTACK. It's a good thing we walked from the office, so the opu had chance for digest all the MEAT. I forgot the name of what work buddy got, but she liked and had some self control and saved some of her dish for snack time later. All in all, they still have the good eats. Staff was friendly and attentive. Place was chill and good vibes.“

“My wife and I booked a reservation at Vein after viewing the photos and reading several reviews on Yelp. So, on Thursday, 4 April 2024, there we were. First, we want to salute the entire staff. We have never seen such a hard-working group. Our meal started with an Aperol Spritz and a Negroni 13, accompanied by Karaage artichoke hearts and grilled Tako. Both of these starters and the drinks were superb. Next, we ordered lamb and Pistachio pasta. The grilled lamb was the best we've ever had, anywhere on the planet. The bucatini pasta was perfectly al-dente, covered in a house sauce of puree and pistou pistachio nuts, Parmigiano Reggiano, and Prosciutto di Parma. This unusual creation was a first for us, and it was exceptional. Finally, we shared Creme Brulee and their fabulous Bread Pudding with a scoop of vanilla ice cream! Whew! This place is welcoming and comfortable. We never felt rushed. The Head Chef, Mr. Jordan Harris, was most gracious, taking the time to chat with us. He even added a special gift to our go bag! We will most definitely return! Five stars!“

Only three tables were occupied and somehow we got overlooked the whole service.Went last night 3/26.I had the chicken katsu my husband had the spicy ahi and shrimp donburi with brown rice. I like their katsu very tasty. The spicy ahi and shrimp don was delicious. Their fish and seafood always seem fresh.My husband commented on the freshness and crisp bite to the shrimp. “We came here for Bobae's handroll night but also wanted to try some of the other food the bar menu offers. Parking lot is right next door or they have street parking. We sat down and were given a menu. Fiance ordered a beer (they don't have draft) and I got the papaya salad- lao style at medium spicy. Wow the papaya salad was great. Even though I got medium it was spicy but still tolerable. My water was refilled a lot that night hahaha. Will be coming back to try the nem Khao, wings, and crab fried rice.“
“Stephanie was an amazing server. We arrived early although we already had a reservation, they were happy to seat us. Ended up tucked in a corner which was nice given the occasion. We ordered the house gyoza (delicious, very flavor ful), caprese salad (always my fav) and the spring rolls (a little bland) to start. I chose the Pad Thai med spicy with chicken. I loved it, great portion size. He chose the Japanese curry with Karagae chicken. Couldn't end the night without dessert, our server recommended a seasonal special chocolate banana brulee cake.
