“Hands down the best meal we had during a recent Hawai’i trip. Miro had been in our must-do list for some time and we certainly weren’t disappointed.Great cocktails to kick off and then a succession of delicious dishes, each beautifully presented and with intense flavours. Our first visit but not our last!“
“Delicious food, great service! The signature martini (pineapple & coconut) were too easy to drink (a bit steep at $19ea!). The dragon roll was amazing, as were all our entrées (Butterfield, based short ribs & whole snapper). I appreciate the half servings available for some entrées (I didn't even finish my whole dish).“
“there’s no shortage of good poke bowls in honolulu. this place is above average definitely but just short of special. its a solid takeout counter with very limited seating. i love that they give you miso soup on the side, which is awesome. i got the crunch bowl, and appreciated that they fresh fried the ebi tempura, instead of a big batch that sat around. so the owners really care about quality and presentation. i also like that they didn’t drown it in sauce. i think some may balk at the smaller portions, but it was just right for me. good choice if you are in the area“
“Wow, this place is amazing. Hands down one it the best places I've been to. Best food and services. The folks here work hard and are wonderful. The food was absolutely great, the whole experience was well. I wish I could come back. Highly “
“Looking forward to coming back ! Their handmade rolls are very unique and pack a flavorful punch. It was a first time experience biting into an eggroll that had a range from avocado to shrimp to burger meat. When I went there, the different types of flavors presented were: the traditional vietnamese roll, a crab rangoon roll, in & out roll, taco roll, shrimp roll, bacon & egg roll, and avocado roll. It was super hard to choose just a couple to try out, so instead I just got the sampler which is where you get each roll.My personal favorite would have to be either the avocado or taco roll. When eating the avocado roll, it tasted very fresh and vibrant. In the avocado roll there’s onion, tomato, and cilantro. All combined makes an amazing roll to enjoy with all friends and family. What I’m most shocked about is that the rolls are never soggy and are not burnt. The workers at the local farmers market were a pleasure to meet. When waiting you could jam out to their music which is what I did. Definitely should ask how they choose the name for the taco roll, it’s a silly and cute story. 10/10 would go again to grab some of their amazing rolls and vibe with music“
“I love this place.I've been going for years now, and I always have a great time. The food is amazing, the music is great, and the staff are always friendly. I'm a vegetarian, but the food here is so good that I don't even miss meat!“
“We had an absolutely amazing experience! I ordered the vegan 4 course and my friend had the Chef's 10 course. First of all, it's difficult to find a vegan course menu from a fine dinning restaurant, the taste was outstanding! From the, beet salad, curried chow fun noodles, chickpea Madras over rice and finally the mango tapioca..every dish was perfection! My friend enjoyed every dish as well she said everything was absolutely delightful. She especially had high praises for the Samoan crab shumai, duck confit katsu bao, squid luau agnolotti and the condensed, flavorful, out of this world 90 day dry age beef. The strawberry panna cotta was to die for! First unsure if she could finish a 10 course meal but she finished everything happily! We had the most delightful first class dinner, thank you PAI Honolulu. You are one of the BEST Restaurant in town!“
“From the host to the servers and the bartenders, everyone was incredibly friendly and fun. We stayed an extra long time and felt welcome the whole time. Thank you to the staff for the great hospitality. Chef Chai didn't make it to our table, but it was nice seeing him in the restaurant mingling with customers.“
“I arrived and started looking over the menu and at all of their different sushi/bento combos. Very overwhelming to navigate for my first time, but no big deal I eat sushi 100+ times /year. Sometimes every day twice a day.I ended up ordering the salmon/ahi poke bowl along with a samurai Maki. I also tried to order a "tuna avocado maki". This is where my problems started. The guy taking orders told me "we don't have that on the menu". I asked, can you make it for me and charge whatever you need to charge. He doubled down and said "we can't do that. We can make the spicy ahi Maki or an ahi hand roll and add avocado". Again I said, I don't want that. That comes with cucumber and spicy tuna. I would like a Maki roll with ahi tuna and avocado, that is all.At this point he still refused to make it so I said forget it, ill just stick with the poke bowl and samurai roll. When my food arrived (I ate in the location), he pushed the tray too hard at me and spilled the miso soup. (Not a lot, but I could tell he didn't like me from our exchange about the tuna avocado Maki and this was probably a subconscious action. He asked if I wanted another, I said no its fine.Lastly, the spoon for the miso soup is basically flat. I had a very difficult time eating with the spoon because you can't pick up any liquid with it. I ended up just picking up the bowl and drinking. The flavor and quality of the sushi was excellent and I had no issues along those lines.I hope this review helps the owner / management correct a few service related issues to improve this location!“
“Get the Bibimbap! Best item I've seen on the menu. Super colorful, flavorful and diverse bowl. My mother got the kalbi and was staring at my plate the entire time. Needless to say she'll get the bibimbap next time. Real good portion “
“Very busy, otherwise 5 stars on atmosphere.I like their fried items more than I like their ramen, but that's probably due to my whiteness. Really good flavor in everything.Vegetarian options: Soy based meat and tofu options. There are more vegetarian options than not.Wheelchair accessibility: It is on the ground floor, so it should be easy to roll in“
“They excel at everything. They make the best burger I have ever had in my life and make it with precision every time I get it. I don't think they make an item that I don't love. Friends all agree. It's where we go for celebrations. I love their coffee.Vegetarian options: They make all food excellent. However they really do their best with meat and fish.Wheelchair accessibility: They were able to accommodate my wheelchair. It's tight but folks help when asked.“
“Beautiful interior design and very clean looking. Our server was Anthony, he was great. Very attentive and friendly, knowledgeable about the menu and makes great conversation every time he comes by the table. Got to try a bit of everything on the menu, and everything was great. Loved the Ulu Two Ways, Saimin Soup Dumplings, and Braised Short Rib (so tender and flavorful, we could've had two more servings!) Sad that we weren't able to try the Pinakbet since I was looking forward to trying something I'm familiar with, but I understand. The Fried Ube Potato Pie was so good and a great way to finish off the meal. They also offer Dino Nuggets for the kids in a cool dinosaur plate so that's great too! Overall had an amazing experience and I would definitely recommend this restaurant.“
“This is the BEST brisket bbq and beef stew on the island. Banh mi was also phenomenal. Every single drink we had was not only beautiful but also so delicious and fresh! The owner, Rose, is such a gem. Indulged us with so many samples— I loved everything she let us try! We’ll be back very soon?“
“I am blown away this place was great! When I go to Vietnamese restaurants I susally order the beef combination pho with no tendon. But this place already had it on the menu without tendon! The flavor is all there with their dishes & they have a special lemongrass dipping sauce. They give with all your orders, so good!!“
“Garlic shrimp w/brown rice is delicious ( ˆpˆ )❣️After all, shrimp without shells is better!Great compatibility with coriander❣️❣️30 minutes before closing on weekdays, waiting for 2 groups.Ribeye steak, medium ponzu sauce is also delicious?“
“I was there in October 2023, it was a great time to relieve myself from missing Thai food there. Real authentic Thai food… real taste of Thai & great services. Very delicious. Everything was delicious. The decoration of the dishes was beautiful. Let's make this the number 1 restaurant in my heart for this trip.“
“I have been to many fine dining restaurants in Europe and the US and the New Years dinner I had with my husband at AV was absolutely our favorite! I understand the critical points in the other reviews, the seating options could definitely be optimized a bit to allow more privacy, yet, there is really nothing critical i could say about the staff. They were very attentive and made our dinner possible even though there was a mistake with our reservation. The food was an absolute highlight, every dish was full of flavor and delicious. Also the surprise dish is a very creative and much appreciated idea. From all the dining out experiences I had in Hawaii, this is the one that left a lasting impression.“
“Delicious and thoughtful tasting menu with wine pairing. Fresh and flavorful ingredients with friendly and professional service. I am a big man (6'5", 240 lbs.) and I suggested I might still be hungry after the tasting menu, so our server gave us sliders on the house, which filled me right up and were delicious. We highly recommend... Mahalo, MW! :)“
“Good & legit ramen, with legit noodles! My number one pet peeve about most ramen places in Hawaii is they use the chinese-egg-noodle-kind "ramen noodles" and it definitely ain't the same. They also do the broth here really good. Their egg and charsu is also super on point. COME HERE!! 10/10“
“Located on Fort Street Mall, this place is one of the most yummy eats I’ve ever had. For the last 20-ish years I’ve gone here to treat myself to comfort food like their curry and garlic chicken combo, or a light lunch. I like the outdoor seating option and wish they had more. Inside is like cafeteria benches. While there is a dine-in option, I usually just get take away.Wheelchair accessibility: It’s ground level right on fort street mall.“
“Had lunch with the Chamber of Commerce Hawaii Ambassador Committee. Since I’m an early adopter, I love this place and Chef Keaka and his team! Ordering the ‘shroom melt was ono! The mushroom sandwich included an egg on top and since I don’t like sunny side up, they cooked my egg my way. The service was great and Trina refilled our water without asking. I recommend you check out Kapa Hale for lunch or dinner.Parking: They have a small parking lot the driveway after Kahala McDonald’s. Park at Kahala Mall as an alternative.“
“Ordered the garlic chili chicken and it was sooo good!! The workers were very nice and the food was quick. Every bite was delicious~ They also have vegetarian menus and other delicious menus that I definitely have to try next time! I highly recommend Dell’s Kitchen & Bakery:)“
“The waffles are amazing and were made especially the way I liked them! I like my waffles pretty plain but they have a large assortment of fresh toppings to choose from. But most especially, it's the people that kept me coming back day after day during my two week trip in Hawaii.“
“Uncle's Chicken is a small chicken shop located near Sakana in Kalihi. I placed a 5 chicken sandwich order around 11:20 and was quoted 15 minutes. I left downtown to grab the food right after and my food was ready by the time I got there. Very impressive chicken sandwich. I got the spicy one and it was only spicy in certain parts of my sandwich, which is why I gave minus one star. It seems like I was eating the original sandwich and put hot sauce in one spot of my sandwich. Other than that, the chicken was moist and crispy. The bread was so good. Seemed like a sweet bread bun. Definitely put the sandwich together. I think one thing I wish they included was pickles. That would make the sandwich complete! I would definitely come back if I was ever in the area. Their boba drinks look very impressive too.“
“I thought $18 for a plate of shrimp curry was a little expensive until I ate it and realized they could raise the price to $25 and I would buy it again! It's was worth every penny. The restaurant was clean and very well maintained I just wish they had a full size dining area. The service of the food was surprisingly quick and easy. I will definitely be back one day to try more items on the menu. I recommend this restaurant to all my friends and family 9/10. Well done.“
“Online ordering available and really convenient. They are located inside of beer lab at Pearl ridge. Food goes great with the beer available. The wagyu burger is a must. Fries tastes similar to curly fries from jack on the box, but 100 times better. Definitely will be coming back.“
“at noon on Saturday. It's relatively empty. The staff are very pleasant and the water service is also nice.I love Pioneer Saloon.I've had many different plate lunches, but the ribeye is the best.I like brown rice and saladToday's tofu salad. It has a lot of ginger and tofu.It was very delicious. The sauce, meat, and grilling quality of this ribeye is really great.Plate lunch over pricedRibeye 20$Mochico chicken & octopus 10$sorry“
“The best Thai chicken since living here for decades, mindful of our trips to Thailand, but here perfectly spiced, like having your very own Band of Earth Angel Cooks. The mother and daughter team of Ace and Ci is unbeatable in that really care, having a delicate touch and approach to their cuisine. The fish and chips are light, white and flaky, reminding us of our favorite flaky fish in Northern England and Scotland. They offer a gluten free version breaded in corn starch, which is scrumptious and healthy.Just another reason why we say, LUCKY LIVE HAWAII. Aloha Nui Loa“
“I'm not sure if I would describe Lucky Belly as a cool bar with good food or a hip restaurant with great drinks.....definitely a solid option for some modern fusion in Chinatown. Great drink menu (beer, sake, and cocktails), and a limited food menu but some solid options. Definitely better than what some of the comments say. Overall, good food at a reasonable price point.“
“Restaurant opens at 5:30pm and it fills up quick, so arrive early or make sure you have a reservation! We ordered the Pho Dac Biet to share and it was so flavorful, although a little bit salty for our taste. Would return to the restaurant to try other items! But would have appreciated if the waiter let us know he charged us a plating fee, instead of not telling us beforehand until seeing the check“
“So damn good! Prices reasonably and delicious. I’m from the states & this was the first time I had fresh noodles. Amazing broth & a heaping load of veggies!Parking: Limited parking but it’s there. It’s in a tourist location so most people are on feet.“
“Vons chicken in Hawaii Kai is so convenient and it was easy to place a phone order and pickup. We ended up getting a half order of seasoned fried chicken. It was the right amount for two. I just wish they'd throw in some radish pickles. We totally forgot to order because at other Korean fried chicken places the pickled radish is standard. Seasoned fried chicken (spicy) is a solid 4/5. It was hot, had light crispy breading, and spicy sauce. The chicken was definitely fried to order and still hot by the time we started to eat. I'm glad we got the spicy because it was spot on. We were sweating slightly and the burn was just right. For the price ($19.88) I thought a half order was a decent deal and my fried chicken craving was satisfied. Service was efficient and friendly. I love that Vons is no frills and getting my chicken was no hassle. Do yourself a favor and call in your order as it can take 15-20 minutes to fry the chicken. I'm sure we'll be back. While there is ample parking the spaces close to Vons was sparse. No biggie, and at least it's free. I'll LOCATION: 4/5 FOOD: 4/5 SERVICE: 4/5 VALUE: 4/5 AMBIANCE: 3/5 PET FRIENDLY: n/a CLEANLINESS: 4/5 PARKING: 4/5“
“Was here last year and found it disappointing.BUT. TRIED AGAIN TODAY AND WOW!!;food was amazing from ribs to parmesan bread to shrimp ravioli yummmmIf I had to pick anything souflee took to long even though I ordered at the startm but it is worth the wait ..l“
“Ginza Bairin Tonkatsu in Waikiki was some of the best Japanese food I’ve had outside of Japan. The pork tonkatsu curry was so tender while remaining crispy on the outside, the curry sauce had a hint of sweetness and was absolutely delicious, and the unlimited miso soup was hands down the best miso I’ve ever had. Even the cabbage salad was good, and I don’t even like cabbage.Don’t be put off by the diner-like aesthetic of the restaurant, because the food at Ginza Bairin is a must-try while visiting Waikiki Beach and one of the most memorable meals we had on our vacation. Whether you like Japanese food or are open to trying something new, you won’t be disappointed.“
“Great food. A little on the pricey side but everything is more expensive now. Think of this place as the Whole Foods of plate lunches. Loco moco was delicious and the steak risotto was ono and they gave a lot of risotto. The fresh catch - Mahi was moist and flavorful. Service is ok - friendly but had to repeat the order a couple of times on the phone. Wish they had online ordering, plus they don't include what sides are available on the website. Limited parking and sitting area on the park benches. Basically a take out place. Highly recommended that you call in your order as there is usually a wait time.“
“I would eat here everyday for every meal if it didn't hurt my wallet and health. ?I LOVE laksa and I can't get enough of it. The soup is so delicious and addictive ? ? I can say that I love laksa more than ramen ?.Other favorites: curry look funn, hainai chicken rice.“
“Our first time in Hawaii, wife found online as we were leaving the airport in need of a good cup of coffee. Brewed a fresh pot just for us ?, for was freshly prepared. Love their ministry and work to help those in need. Mahola for all you do!“
“We came here for Bobae's handroll night but also wanted to try some of the other food the bar menu offers. Parking lot is right next door or they have street parking. We sat down and were given a menu. Fiance ordered a beer (they don't have draft) and I got the papaya salad- lao style at medium spicy. Wow the papaya salad was great. Even though I got medium it was spicy but still tolerable. My water was refilled a lot that night hahaha. Will be coming back to try the nem Khao, wings, and crab fried rice.“
“Had a celebration of life at 3660 on the Rise. Coordinator was so easy to work with and gave so much information and was in constant communication. The staff were all so helpful with set up, service, tending to guests and clean up. The food was really good too! Had a heavy appetizer "lunch" and everyone went home filled. The crab and cream cheese won tons, garlic chicken and meatballs were standouts of the line up. Construction was going on on the outside of the building so the view was a little obstructed, but inside the building was well maintained, great temperature, simple A/V set up. Dedicated parking structure with validation made it easy for guests.“
“2/2023Haven't been in a while, but I wanted to meet at an inexpensive, casual place to talk. Perfect in that sense. Waitress was very friendly and we loved the very simple local menu. I always pick on the Portuguese Sausage. The string beans and shrimp are also popular, but the rest of the menu rocks too. Can't go wrong with the prices. Scary thought that we'll probably be back more frequently in these economic times. Great place to go easy on the pocketbook, though! ?✌️“
“Very fast service and food is freshly made. I'm shocked I was a bit iffy at first to try this place. But once I came in and realized it's a mom and pop shop I knew right away that the food will be great. I got a chicken katsu bento and the breading was light and crispy. I brought the bento home and the chicken was still crispy and not hard to eat. Their sushi has good quality rice because even after refrigerating it, it's not hard like most places. I recommend coming here they have great cheap sushi!“
“I have been here about 5 times and since I wasn't familiar with the menu options, I would see what others were eating and ask for recommendations. The food is excellent! Very tasty and cooked to perfection. The veggies were crunchy just as I prefer. Serving size was descent for the price. The staff were very helpful and the restaurant was clean. They even give complementary dessert. I always come here when I am in the area. Dine in and take out. I tend to order about 3-4 entrees with lots of leftovers to take home. Support local businesses, folks. Good Chinese cuisine at this establishment.“
“This bar is so cute. Tucked away in the Stix Asia food hall. It’s a nice place to stop for a drink in away from the hustle and bustle of the Waikiki strip. Make sure to try their gyoza and I can’t remember the name of it but the cocktail I had was something with Hali vodka and midori was so good. Also they validate parking “
“Newly transplanted to Hawaii from Southern California I craved my local restaurant comfort food from a nearby Filipino friends restaurant. Always a go to place for all my favorite dishes. One dish in particular was his curry beef over rice. No one seem to get the flavor I recognize to be at the same level of goodness until I walked into this restaurant. Let me introduce VEIN at Kaka’ako. Not family with the choices the hostess recommended her favorite the curry wagu. With some unexpectation I was delighted with the best curry wagu burger with egg! So good! The tender wagu burger with curry topped with an over easy egg and side salad was so ono! Top it off withLilikoi Momosa and you have the perfect lunch. Highly recommend! Can’t wait to try the other dishes!“
“I was here a month ago with my sister. We had the 9 course tasting menu and it was absolutely fantastic. Also got to try the birria birria tacos. They were awesome! Derek took care of us and did a great job. It was a great experience. Loved the food. I also follow Chef Ken on Instagram and enjoy his chef reactions. So when I heard his restaurant was in Waikiki, I had to check it out!“
“Last time I came here many years ago it was just okay, but was happy to come back here for lunch recently on a weekday with some coworkers and the food was really good!Prices are very reasonable compared to other places, and my dish was tasty. I got a chopped steak dish.“
“Great service from Joseph with recommendations that we enjoyed. Food came out quickly when ordered. The wagyu beef burger was cooked perfectly to order and the karaage chicken was hot and delicious. The beach views and atmosphere generally were also a big plus. Would absolutely come back.“
“It was spicy garlic, but it was too salty for my taste so I was a little disappointed. You have to try the original garlic for an accurate review.I think it's possible. But it's nice to be able to meet them without having to drive to the shrimp truck. The shrimp are very juicy and fresh. Next time, I'm going to do some research on the menu.“
“This is an excellent restaurant, it's low key but has lofty standards for food quality and service. The servers are cheerful and attentive. The cod and lobster pasta were outstanding. The soft shell crab roll was delicious. No pretensions - just great food at a good price.“
