“My boyfriend (Drew) and I picked up dinner here last night and the BBQ beef sandwhich was amazing!!! We love how the spice of the sauce wasn't too spicy. The pickled daikon and carrots complimented the spice and the beef was cooked to perfection.

We were very surprised by the mung bean tapioca pudding. We were not expecting to like it. Overall, it was not too sweet and had a good flavor to compliment the BBQ Beef sandwhich.

Went for the Pho and we end up also having a spicy noodle soup (pork and beef) and some fresh spring rolls. Broth is good, not too greasy, portions are great.
Everyone was friendly!

If you want to park right in front you will need to pay for parking, however it can be validated at the restaurant. Parking at the Sams/Walmart parking lot is an option for 3 hrs, free.“

I asked for spicy because that’s just how I like my food. I had the original banh mi and the shrimp Vietnamese roll. I’m still licking my fingers. I highly recommend this place. “A co-worker and I tried out Kieu Vietnamese Cuisine on King Street after reading good things about the place. Our server brought out glasses of what we expected to be water; it was lightly flavored tea … A nice change of pace, especially since I don’t drink water, at least not au naturel.

We chose the Bun Bo Hue (spicy beef soup) and Bun Thit Nuong Cha Gio (vermicelli with grilled pork and spring rolls). These are dishes that we frequently order at P** V******, on Smith and Hotel. It took a while for our food to arrive, but each dish presented well. My vermicelli dish was smaller than one at P*V*, but it contained more grilled pork and the flavoring of the ingredients and the flavoring of the accompanying Nuoc Cham was more complex and richer. The sole negative, it contained less vermicelli, which for me, was a good thing because I’ve always struggled to consume all the noodles at the other place.

The soup for the Bun Bo Hue was rich, and I sensed an undertone of crab. Were crab shells used in the broth? I think so … My friend reported that the portion of pig knuckle was rubbery and tough … inedible, in his woods. Each dish cost $18.99, including tax. I enjoyed my vermicelli dish; my friend said he’d try pho the next time.“

“My Vietnamese friend suggested that we order the Super Pho Seven Courses of Beef at her favorite Vietnamese restaurant. It had a good variety of beef prepared in different ways. My favorite was the Lemon Beef Salad that we rolled up into rice paper and dipped into a delicious sauce. This restaurant not only has the best tasting food, they have the largest menu with over 100 authentic dishes. On Tuesday I ate at Broken Rice and last night I ate at Hale Vietnam, so that's 3 different Vietnamese restaurants in 3 days in a 2 block radius. “Nicely decorated giving a homey vibe. We ordered pho, papaya salad and fried plantain rolls. All were cooked very well. The pho broth was tasty and had a generous serving of noodles and meat, while the papaya had a good balance of sweetness and sourness. The plantain was a great way to end our dinner! “No frills Vietnamese food in a small but comfortable space on the edge of Chinatown.... The food was very fresh and authentic. Run by a local couple/family, the service was very hospitable... Prices very fair. The Vietnamese coffee was traditional slow drip and delicious. Ordered the banh mi sandwich and it was also a star... The bread was fresh baked, and had the perfect texture and softness on the inside with just the right amount of crisp on the crust. Definitely recommended.“

“We went there on a Friday about 6p. There is paid parking all around Chinatown but i went to 111 n beretania (parking structure)... go to the street level to enter restaurant from parking. Reservation not needed...but it does get busy. Atmosphere is like any typical asian restaurant and service was decent. The tamarind drink i ordered was a little sweet...i was looking for more tart. There is peanuts so be careful of you are allergic. The food was tasty, so I would eat here again.“

“This place isn’t just another Pho place, they’re absolutely exceptional here! Not only is their service on point, but they’re incredibly accommodating, friendly, kind hearted, and their pho is indescribably and intensely mouthwatering. I’ve had pho elsewhere but walked out disappointed after knowing it’s like here.. I don’t get how they make it so insanely flavorful, but they pull it off every time! My daughter brought me here years ago so not only have I repeatedly come back, everyone I’ve since brought there has returned as a repeat customer… For a good reason!
They’re so flavorful that my tween wanted to go there for her birthday, …of all places! I’ve seen someone complain about parking once but it’s by Foodland so there’s usually ample parking.
I love that Crumbl opened up near there a couple years ago but the Mama Pho’s pho is so rich and flavorful, that I don’t want to ruin the little dance my tastebuds have every time I leave, by eating such sweet Crumbl cookies“

“Two co-workers and I were at Whole Foods and decided to try An Di Dzo for lunch. I ordered a French 75, a cocktail consisting of London Dry Gin, Sparkling wine, lemon juice and simple syrup ($15) while we perused the menu.

I had Vermicelli Cold Noodle with spring roll and pork (Bun Thit Nuong Cha Gio, $19.50), Number 17 at our favorite place on Smith and Hotel Streets. Another chose Chicken Pho (Mien Ga, $17.75) while the third tried the Vietnamese Beef Stew (Bo Kho, $19.75). We split a Classic Combo Banh Mi ($15.50).

My vermicelli dish was fine, on par with the one at P** V******, but maybe not as good as the one at K*** V********* C******. I didn’t hear any complaints about the Mien Ga. The Beef Stew was petite but came with two large pieces of toasted baguette.
I was disappointed in the banh mi … the baguette felt stale and there weren’t enough pickled vegetables (do chua) and cilantro for me. I can get a better banh mi for $11 elsewhere.

What did I think? The food was okay, but we could get comparable dishes for less money at three places in Chinatown. I was hoping for more … As such, a rating of 3.75.

Postscript: The co-worker that ate the beef stew suffered from intestinal distress for the remainder of the afternoon. He was the only one to use the raw basil and bean sprouts. I was fine, as was the other person in our party.“
