“Authentic Vietnamese dishes. The Bun Bo Hue is amazing! The broth is deeper, rich and unreal and the spicy level is agressive enough but not overpowering. Fully loaded with meat, generous portion size. The herbs are so fresh. Love the service and quick and warm. They treat you like family. This is the place for an authentic Vietnamese food.“

“The best Pho on Oahu. There's a good reason why there's probably a line to enter this small hole in the wall restaurant. I've tried many places, and I always come back to this one. It's authentic, and they even have pickled garlic which I don't think I've seen in many places. There is validated parking, but you could also park in the Walmart across the street. If you're craving Pho, definitely definitely come here!“

“Super delicious rice noodles with the juiciest, most flavorful lemongrass chicken. Just such a delight to eat crispy veggies and herbs on a hot day here. The owner was so sweet too and chatted with us. This spot has been around for ~20+ years, too!“

“My boyfriend (Drew) and I picked up dinner here last night and the BBQ beef sandwhich was amazing!!! We love how the spice of the sauce wasn't too spicy. The pickled daikon and carrots complimented the spice and the beef was cooked to perfection.
We were very surprised by the mung bean tapioca pudding. We were not expecting to like it. Overall, it was not too sweet and had a good flavor to compliment the BBQ Beef sandwhich.
Great spot for lunch or dinner! Fast & great service 🤙“

“I only come here for the Pho. The broth is not salty but savory. That's good because other Pho restaurants have you drinking 5 cups of water afterwards. portion size is mid with a few slices of meat and couple meatballs. The portion size will not satisfy a normal adult. I can't say that it's worth it to drop $18 and not be full. It is enough to satisfy the taste buds though.“

“Wow…we loved our meals. We stopped here by quickly on our way from Waikiki to the airport, and easily found street parking. The vermicelli bowls with lemongrass chicken & tofu (and a banh mi with pork + chicken) were so fresh, so filling, and really high quality. Delicious Vietnamese iced coffee. The service was kind, as well. Highly recommend for a relaxed & high quality meal!!“

“Family owned and operated, excellent food; a classic, lowkey gem. I feel privileged to have been a customer for a long time. This local favorite spot for Vietnamese food is made with high quality ingredients and sends you home not just with the lovely flavors lingering but a sense of wellbeing. Nothing really warms you like a good pho some days; they take no shortcuts with the home made broth which as you know if you ever thought “oh I’ll just make that at home,” takes *all* *day* to make pho broth. )Some places, not naming names, take some easy shortcuts on the broth. It’s tasty but when you walk out, your body feels it differently. Bac nam makes their own from scratch and it is legit. Ono and much healthier (in my opinion.) Thank you Bac Nam!“

“We came here because it looked just like our favorite neighborhood pho spots in Los Angeles and that’s exactly what we got. Grandkids running around quietly playing, family run shop, and a really clean broth. Super fresh aromatics and greens. Just what we needed after a day in the water. And we ordered some banh mi sandwiches to go to tak to the beach with us the next day. Kept them in our hotel room fridge. Will for sure come back.“

“A co-worker and I tried out Kieu Vietnamese Cuisine on King Street after reading good things about the place. Our server brought out glasses of what we expected to be water; it was lightly flavored tea … A nice change of pace, especially since I don’t drink water, at least not au naturel.
We chose the Bun Bo Hue (spicy beef soup) and Bun Thit Nuong Cha Gio (vermicelli with grilled pork and spring rolls). These are dishes that we frequently order at P** V******, on Smith and Hotel. It took a while for our food to arrive, but each dish presented well. My vermicelli dish was smaller than one at P*V*, but it contained more grilled pork and the flavoring of the ingredients and the flavoring of the accompanying Nuoc Cham was more complex and richer. The sole negative, it contained less vermicelli, which for me, was a good thing because I’ve always struggled to consume all the noodles at the other place.
The soup for the Bun Bo Hue was rich, and I sensed an undertone of crab. Were crab shells used in the broth? I think so … My friend reported that the portion of pig knuckle was rubbery and tough … inedible, in his woods. Each dish cost $18.99, including tax. I enjoyed my vermicelli dish; my friend said he’d try pho the next time.“
“Was going to Pate , a banh mi place across the alley -- been going there a while and they are good and popular but always full of-- small space , often a wait at lunch or other. Happened upon this place and no line. Fantastic banh mi -- I got the crispy pork--great bread--some of the best I have had--, tasty pork with a sauce and lots of cilantro and other fillings. Be sure to check them out.“

“Had so many of my local friends recommend this place. Cozy, older, friendly, hole-in-the-wall restaurant. I got take out on a rainy day and got the #11 + Thai iced tea (delicious and not crazy sweet). Price is very good & the broth!! The broth was so comforting, aromatic, with a touch of sweetness. I always take note of pho restaurant’s chili oil sate and this one’s had a really good kick! Will definitely be back!“

“No frills Vietnamese food in a small but comfortable space on the edge of Chinatown.... The food was very fresh and authentic. Run by a local couple/family, the service was very hospitable... Prices very fair. The Vietnamese coffee was traditional slow drip and delicious. Ordered the banh mi sandwich and it was also a star... The bread was fresh baked, and had the perfect texture and softness on the inside with just the right amount of crisp on the crust. Definitely recommended.“

“Nicely decorated giving a homey vibe. We ordered pho, papaya salad and fried plantain rolls. All were cooked very well. The pho broth was tasty and had a generous serving of noodles and meat, while the papaya had a good balance of sweetness and sourness. The plantain was a great way to end our dinner! I can’t wait to go back and try their curry entree.“

“If you love pho or are looking for a break from Hawaiian cuisine, this place is a must-visit. It’s a classic Vietnamese restaurant that feels like a homemade kitchen, serving authentic and comforting dishes.
The pho broth was outstanding—rich, flavorful, and served with plenty of fresh herbs. The grilled pork chop was another highlight: perfectly cooked, fresh, juicy, and pleasantly savory without being overly sweet.
The prices are very reasonable, making it an excellent value for the quality of the food. I highly recommend stopping here for a meal if you’re visiting Waikīkī. Just be aware that parking is limited, so finding a spot can be a bit challenging.
We’ll definitely be coming back on our next trip to Hawaii!“

“My Vietnamese friend suggested that we order the Super Pho Seven Courses of Beef at her favorite Vietnamese restaurant. It had a good variety of beef prepared in different ways. My favorite was the Lemon Beef Salad that we rolled up into rice paper and dipped into a delicious sauce. This restaurant not only has the best tasting food, they have the largest menu with over 100 authentic dishes. On Tuesday I ate at Broken Rice and last night I ate at Hale Vietnam, so that's 3 different Vietnamese restaurants in 3 days in a 2 block radius. This one is the only one that I ***** Highly Recommended!*****“

“There are places you visit, and then there are places that find you. Insomnia is unquestionably the latter.
From the moment you walk in, the world outside simply falls away. The space feels less like a business and more like someone’s most carefully loved living room. But it’s the owners who make it truly extraordinary — in an age where hospitality has become a transaction, they treat every guest like a long-awaited friend. Their warmth isn’t performed — it’s genuinely, beautifully real.“

“Amazing Vietnamese food truck with an extensive menu!
I came across this food truck the other night with a hankering for Pho. As I approached, I could see a huge photo collage of most of the dishes served. A very nice woman at the counter took my order, of which I went for the Oxtail Pho and a Pineapple Sugar Cane drink.
After paying, I went to pick a table. Within 8 minutes the food arrived at the table and it smelled wonderful. First off, I’ve never had oxtail pho before… love oxtail, love pho, so perfect combo! The broth was delicious and the pho was fantastic! The only thing I’d say is that the portion was a bit small for Hawaiian and Vietnamese standards.
As for the ambiance, it’s very casual with a street food scene vibe that I was digging! There’s ample parking as well.
Next time I’d like to try the pork rice plate and the snails. If you’ve got a craving for Vietnamese food, this spot is worth trying!“

“I love this place. Came today with a friend, but I did before with my husband who is Vietnamese and he loved it. Is one of the new places still in the island that offers an appetizer of spring rolls (4) for a reasonable price, because I came across some other places where they cut the spring roll in a half or 3 and charge you per piece.
I would definitely come back. Pho was great.“

“Kim, Kevin, and the tasty food keep us returning. The only suggestion we would offer is that the food for the plate lunches be kept consistently on a food warmer that's turned on, rather than giving it an appearance that the food is heated.“

“I ordered some sort of beef pho, sadly, I cannot remember the name, but it was very tasty. I was feeling a little under the weather and this broth hit the SPOT. On top of that, they gave a generous amount of bean sprouts and thai basil which while I guess some might say it what every pho place does. This one gives a whole lot. Perfect for a sick guy to feel healthy again. The plum sauce they gave was also very nice to mix with the broth and the meatballs they gave were perfect. I would go again every single day when I'm sick if I could and honestly I think the food itself cured my illness more quickly than it would normally take me. My one regret from that day is that I hadn't felt healthy enough to eat inside. The dine in tables looked so nice and the warm lights made me feel as if I was in a nice inviting joint.“
“my son is a bit of a spring roll connoisseur, and when he found these at the farmers market, he ordered them not once—but twice, morning and afternoon. the creativity behind each roll is incredible, and he said their take on the “in-n-out” was especially epic.“

“I found this restaurant by chance. I was taking my son to a tuxedo fitting at Men's Warehouse right next door when I noticed this gem. The food here has great flavor and definitely does not feel like something that was rushed, but actually made with care for the presentation and flavor. The atmosphere was relaxed and clean. We ordered the regular pho, Bun Bo Hue, and steamed lemongrass clams (thai chili). Again, great flavor, fresh garnished and would definitely recommend for anyone in the mood for some great Vietnamese cuisine!“
