“The Saigon Special and Roast Pork Banh Mi are my faves!!! The bread is light and crispy but still holds up well, even when stuffed with all the delicious components 😋 The roast pork is juicy and tasty with pieces of crispy skin. I like that it's chopped into smaller pieces so it's easier to eat. The Saigon Special is filled with 2 types of pork rolls, ham, char siu, pate, pickles, mayo, cilantro and cucumbers. Everything is fresh and perfectly seasoned! And I appreciate that they take the time to carefully put together beautiful sandwiches.“

“Horror review of jolene's by the Honolulu international airport. This place is really easy to find if you can see the building with the big mural of the whales? It's right across the street from them on Ualena Street. You can't go wrong with barbecue brisket.
I tried the tuna melt. I thought it was okay not great but the fries like waffle fries are very crispy I like those. The papa smokes Burger is a double burger with a slice of beef brisket on it. It is a meal and a half you will not be hungry for dinner after that.
Definitely it's a hole in a wall right now but it's a nice place great food you got to check it out.

“Stopped by looking for some vegetarian food and found this place. I had tofu fried rice which was simple: rice, egg peas and tofu. The rice was fluffy, with some of the grains crunchy fried. It was piping hot and delicious. My husband had a pastrami sandwich and said it was very tasty and the bread perfect. Staff also lovely.“

Call in order ahead or wait 10-15 minutes for walkup orders. They're only open 11am - 4pm. Been buying their bentos since 1993 and they're always awesome. 1000% better than Zippys.“

“I've been waiting a long time to try them during my visits to O'ahu, and I'm glad I did! Not only did I get to try their classic katsu flavor, but their new Spam Katsu as well! The owner and staff are all incredibly nice and you can always find them at the Kaka'ako Farmers Market on saturdays with their food truck setup!

One extra star added for keeping the banh mi price under US$10, and for providing a decent affordable lunch amidst Honolulu's atrocious pricey food scene. And while not being generous with the toppings, she wasn’t stingy either. It’s been nearly a decade since I’ve been to a subway, and I wouldn’t hesitate to patronize this location again if I had a craving for a cheap sandwich.“
