“This place was delicious! We tried a bit of almost every dessert. I had ordered the chicken Alfredo it was great! We ordered 3 different desserts and loved each one. Prices are reasonable as well. Staff are very friendly and attentive. Definitely one of our favorite spots so far. Definitely worth it. 😊“

“This has to be one of the best Italian restaurants that have ever eaten in.
There is plenty of hot bread and butter but EVOO to dip the bread in.
The food and gravy taste homemade.
They offer full or small plates on most dishes.
Being raised in an Italian household with a mom who was a tremendous cook, this place is a close second.
Highly recommend this out of the way place.
Reservations aren't required, but on the weekends, highly recommended.“

The lunch menu offers either a small or large portion. The small size is generous, I can’t imagine the large portion. Located in a local strip mall. Expect to pay $100+ for a lunch for two. Good place to come ‘to impress’.“

“Walking past, there's a good chance you won't even notice it. There's a row of 3-4 shops in one building. Upon entering, you realize just how small it really is. The lady behind the counter was super friendly and patient, this was the first time for me to visit this place. I honestly couldn't decide, there were so much to choose from. I ended up ordering the Hawaiian calzone and the combination calzone. I was not disappointed at all. They were delicious. I quickly realized however that I should have ordered just 1. They were both quite full. I'll be sure to go back there on my next trip to Hawaii.“

“Tried this place on a whim after seeing it often when I crave Italian food on Uber Eats and lemme tell you this place didn't disappoint. While I was a tad dismayed at the prices on first glance I saw a ton of food in every dish so figured yolo and order something unique. I got the fried ravioli and the cheese sticks as I haven't had either one in years and figured it was a good benchmark. When the food came I was pleasantly surprised the pictures from a few months ago matched the amount in the boxes and was super stuffed in both cases. I was super intrigued by the sauce as I have never seen an orange ish sauce be so thin before. Originally I thought this was Italian dressing with vinegar but now I can't say for certain but this really elevated what could've been a plainer thing had it been marinara instead. Flavor was super clean yet seasoned well in both cases with both offerings offering the amount of airy crisp I love and hardly see in places like this. I really want to try the rest of their offerings if this is the benchmark for what this place is gonna be. Also, if you order on DoorDash or Uber eats, it's free delivery so you can't really complain. Definitely gonna add this place to the rotation. I'm gonna try to visit this place in person very soon. “Reservation for a Friday night. Not too busy and available parking. Food and wine/port was very good: we had the short ribs, risotto, pizza and several appetizers and desserts to share. We do recommend ordering your own desserts instead of sharing. Everyone enjoyed the meal. We would return here for sure.“

“We had the King Crab Pasta, Pork Chops, an appetizer, and a couple of cocktails, and everything was delicious. The service was informative, engaging, and much appreciated. Cory was our host, and he did a fantastic job.

It’s a nice, intimate location that I’d definitely recommend to friends. The cocktails were especially tasty.

One small con: the restaurant is very wine\-focused, so the beer selection is quite limited. I would have liked to see a few more Italian beers, which are commonly offered at Italian-focused restaurants.

Overall, a great experience and a place we’d happily visit again. I normally do not give a 5, a five star for me was my dinner at Le Jules Verne, a two-Michelin-starred gastronomic restaurant located, inside the Eiffel Tower in Paris. I gave them all 4 stars!“

“I live on the Big Island with limited creative food options. Any time I’m in Honolulu, I love to go out to eat and explore cuisine. Ruscello has been so satisfying for me every single time. I’m sincerely impressed, and I consider myself a bit of a snob about food and drink when I’m in the mood.

What impresses me most is the quality and consistency of execution, especially for Honolulu, which is often over-priced or overly gimmicky in approach from a creative stand point. The flavors are creative and delicious. The portions are spot on. The service is prompt, professional and courteous (not pretentious). The cocktails are great — fun and interesting — so much so that I don’t mind the $18 price tag at all. The atmosphere is modern and chic but very comfortable. And the cost is extremely reasonable for what you get. Case in point: I’m eating the lunch special right now. It’s a sumptuous, filling braised beef sandwich with a lovely salad. $22! That’s less than what I pay for a mediocre poke plate in Hilo served in a to go container.

As I write this, I realize this is my favorite restaurant on O’ahu. I’ve worked in food and beverage for nearly 20 years. My coffee business supplies the top resorts in Hawai’i, so I’ve had plenty of exposure to the “best” food and beverage in the islands. The value for what you get here at Ruscello is unmatched. It’s a deal imho.

My hat is off to the team and, especially, the leadership here. Consistently well-executed establishments like this don’t happen by chance or luck. It takes a lot of vision and planning to bring this to life and deliver such consistent results. Literally nothing has been subpar for me here.

Although it is easy to miss from the street, it is the perfect place for great food, exceptional and personalized service and relaxing quiet atmosphere. The bruschetta came with four pieces but the server offered to give us 5 pieces, one for each of us instead of having us order another entire order, offering exceptional hospitality. We wanted to try several things so we ordered salad, margarita pizza, pesto pasta, lasagna and shared. Every bite was amazing. The perfect place for a great meal and a bottle wine to enjoy in the sitting areas throughout the restaurant. This is truly a hidden gem. Best meal and service we had during our 10 days stay in Waikiki Don’t miss it!“

“I pick up lunch from the Pioneer Plaza location a couple of times a month. It's always the large salad ... Which gives you 3 to 4 choices atop some cut lettuce. I usually select the peas and carrots, curried chicken (even though I don't like raisins), tomato and cucumber and the pasta salad.

There are pasta and sandwiches ... my workmates often order that instead of salad. FYI, the large is a better deal ... You get far more food for just a few more dollars.“

“My husband and I Read about this place through the support 808 page and saw they offered porkroll and scrapple. For a born and raised South Jersey girl, finding those on this island is heaven! We ordered a couple of Hoagies for lunch and porkroll and scrapple and pickles too! Definitely a place we will be often! Reminds me of a good stop to take hoagies to go when going down the shore! Thank you for the bottom on my heart for sharing a taste of home! The Hoagies were exactly right for East Coast sub shop! I almost went back to get pizza for dinner too!“

“The post workout protein plate is a heck of a deal at 15$ you get half a dozen perfectly cooked shrimp, several pieces of a moist and tender chicken, and another half dozen meatballs. If that’s doesn’t fill you up it’s resting on a king size bed of spaghetti. We also tried the caprese sandwich which was amazing. The Mac and cheese was great. To finish the meal off we had a delicious keylime pie and several cookies to take home.

We can almost always find what we are looking for including gifts from local artists and made quite a few friends with some of the vendors. There is something for everyone.
