“First timr trying Catania Ristorante Italiano at Waimalu Shopping Center. Reservations are recommended, especially on weekends. Parking is also a challenge during the busy times. Chinese owners serving Italian food. The food is good, but not memorable good. Pasta is cooked well and their garlic cheese bread is very good. Spaghetti sauce too runny, but the Seafood Linguine is delicious. Prices are affordable, considering the portion size is generous and they don't skimp on the protein. Another plus, it's BYOB, so you can save some e $$$ on your bill.

“This has to be one of the best Italian restaurants that have ever eaten in.
There is plenty of hot bread and butter but EVOO to dip the bread in.
The food and gravy taste homemade.
They offer full or small plates on most dishes.
Being raised in an Italian household with a mom who was a tremendous cook, this place is a close second.
Highly recommend this out of the way place.

“I've been a Paesano guy for years, long before they opened up this location.

This is my favorite Italian restaurant on the island. The service is always top notch and the food tastes so good.

I usually get the chicken alla oreganata which is my favorite. So much garlic, I love it. The carbonara is also excellent as is the chicken or veal parmigiana. Even just the house bread is so delicious.

I'll usually ask what the fish of the day is. The monchong is another winner if they have it. They sometimes come up with a seafood special involving clams, shrimp, and/or mussels which is an all time favorite.

I must admit, I really miss the Manoa location for sentimental reasons, but I'm so happy that I have this one to visit for a nice dinner.“

“Extraordinary experience at Rigo this week! For our one-day visit to Oahu and tour at Pearl Harbor, I dug deep into researching restaurants for dinner. I didn't want to be in a hotel (which dramatically reduced options). Since we love the food in Spain and Italy, I locked into Rigo. Best decision! Mickey expertly guided us through the menu and we loved every bite! Started off with a half order of jamon bellota (tip: get the full order) and patatas bravas. Shared the Australian lamb chops, the divine red king crab and jumbo shrimp paella, pizza Bismarck, crème brûlée, and chocolate cake. Wow! So good. The pizza was the best I've ever had in my life, same for the crème brûlée. Besides the wonderful service from Mickey (and truly every person at Rigo, including manager Jimmy) the decor, atmosphere, and the neighbors at the next table, made the evening unforgettable! My foodie daughter wasn't a fan of Honolulu until Rigo, now she's all in to visit again. Me too! Thanks, Rigo team!“

“Reservation for a Friday night. Not too busy and available parking. Food and wine/port was very good: we had the short ribs, risotto, pizza and several appetizers and desserts to share. We do recommend ordering your own desserts instead of sharing. Everyone enjoyed the meal. We would return here for sure.“

Now, the food and recommendations: Beet salad 5/5 if you like beet salad this one was one of the best i ever had with macadamia nuts and salt it had a sweet and rich savory taste that was a great starter Crispy Rice 5/5 another great starter. As expected, the rice was crispy and chewy at the same time with the fish giving it a deep but not overpowering flavor profile. Shrimp: 4.5/5 Generous pieces of shrimp and a nice red sauce. Very flavorful and wanted to scoop up more sauce with every bite New York Strip: 4/5 This was the only semi disappointment of the night. Ordered medium rare and because of the cut the end pieces were overcooked and dry. Not that it was bad but this was probably my fault for ordering a steak when there were so many other good options to order. The smashed potato's 5/5 were good but deadly. If you don't want a rich and heavy mashed potato dish don't get this but if you do you cant deny that it is yummy. Overall a really great dining experience and probably one of my favorite new places to go to“

“We were looking for good Italian food and a great atmosphere. Although it is easy to miss from the street, it is the perfect place for great food, exceptional and personalized service and relaxing quiet atmosphere. The bruschetta came with four pieces but the server offered to give us 5 pieces, one for each of us instead of having us order another entire order, offering exceptional hospitality. We wanted to try several things so we ordered salad, margarita pizza, pesto pasta, lasagna and shared. Every bite was amazing. The perfect place for a great meal and a bottle wine to enjoy in the sitting areas throughout the restaurant. This is truly a hidden gem. Best meal and service we had during our 10 days stay in Waikiki Don’t miss it!“

“Had such a great experience at Ruscello at Nordstrom. The food was really good, and the portions were surprisingly big for the price, which made everything feel very worth it. I also loved the aesthetic and ambiance of the restaurant—it has a beautiful, relaxing atmosphere, and it was fun being able to watch the chefs cooking and preparing dishes in the open kitchen.

The service was amazing as well. Justin took such good care of us throughout our visit, always checking in and making sure we were doing well. His attentiveness and friendly attitude made our dining experience even better.

The lady behind the counter was super friendly and patient, this was the first time for me to visit this place. I honestly couldn't decide, there were so much to choose from. I ended up ordering the Hawaiian calzone and the combination calzone. I was not disappointed at all. They were delicious. I quickly realized however that I should have ordered just 1. They were both quite full. I'll be sure to go back there on my next trip to Hawaii.“

“I pick up lunch from the Pioneer Plaza location a couple of times a month. It's always the large salad ... Which gives you 3 to 4 choices atop some cut lettuce. I usually select the peas and carrots, curried chicken (even though I don't like raisins), tomato and cucumber and the pasta salad.

There are pasta and sandwiches ... my workmates often order that instead of salad. FYI, the large is a better deal ... You get far more food for just a few more dollars.“

Nothing short of great in all context. Food was not only delicious but well presented and the portion very much fit the price.

Service from initial greeting to leaving was excellent. We were well attended to throughout. Never saw the bottom of our drink glass, and someone was always bringing us something like bread or drink OR removing old plates/glasses. Never once did I feel rushed felt cared for!

The vibe was perfect in my opinion. Nk hustle and bustle to get me out to turn the table. Room was slightly dark but well lit at the same time. Again feels like fine dining.

If it wasn't our last night in Waikiki would be back for another before departure. Until next time!“

“La Pizzeria is quintessential—the moment I walked in, I knew I'd found exactly what I was looking for. Exposed brick on the walls and visible in throughout, creating an authentically charming atmosphere that sets the tone perfectly.
The pizza itself is wonderful. I ordered the large pizza half tomato and basil, half pepperoni, and it was cooked to absolute perfection. The dough was incredibly soft, the toppings were vibrant and fresh, and the balance was spot on—like Goldilocks, everything was just right.
What also struck me was looking around at what other diners were enjoying—every menu item coming out of the kitchen looked absolutely delicious. It's clear they maintain a high standard across their entire menu, which means I'll definitely be back to try their other menu offerings.“

Parking was a bit hectic but there is a parking lot outside and a parking garage below. I do look forward to trying their other items. If you don’t want to wait on parking I deff recommend ordering take out.“

“My husband and I Read about this place through the support 808 page and saw they offered porkroll and scrapple. For a born and raised South Jersey girl, finding those on this island is heaven! We ordered a couple of Hoagies for lunch and porkroll and scrapple and pickles too! Definitely a place we will be often! Reminds me of a good stop to take hoagies to go when going down the shore! We can almost always find what we are looking for including gifts from local artists and made quite a few friends with some of the vendors. There is something for everyone. “Fairly priced food where other Italian restaurants are at over $30 a plate. Nice staff and we sat right away for dinner. Proportions are mostly fair. They look small on these larger plates. Happy hour is 5 to 7:00 Monday through Friday makes the drinks more reasonable.

The spaghetti sauce is not very creamy and has lots of tomato chunks. The Alfredo and pink sauce are creamy and rich.

They also have deep fried Oreos so that's a bonus.“
