There is room for improvement in the service; in my view, check-backs should be performed more frequently. But their popcorn chicken quantities are one thing that kind of confused me. When I originally ordered it, the quantities were amazing--they were substantial, bite-sized, and appeared to include meat. But the second one I ordered seemed to be made out of leftovers. Tiny fragments that appeared to be choking dangers.

The way that we are served seems a little lacking, instead of having someone come to check on us, we have to constantly raise our hands to get their attention.

My family and I have been here quite a lot, we personally love the food, we never had trouble with service. This time around just hit differently. Our server Marci M. just spoiled our dinner for us. We already know the policy that you get charged if there's too much leftovers, but our server insisted to tell us almost every single time we put in a order of 4 meats, then ask us before she submits the order if we're sure that we want to proceed, that we will be charged $5-$10 if there's left overs I don't think it was necessary to mention their extra charge more than once, so over 3x was just irritating. We've never had this happen to us before.

If you don't mind cooking and all you can buffet being $20 Monday-Thursday lunch time (Friday-Sunday a bit higher) you'll have awesome time and your moneys worth with the right company..Our go to spot every Tuesday (both our day off) new items added to both lunch and dinner is the fried mandoo and pancakes shown on pic..we love coming to the Pearl Ridge cause our server Jamie and the rest of the crew is amazing..awesome quality of food and customer service's..they treat you like family

Your feelings on this place is REALLY dependent on your server. Think about it. Dinner is automatically $30 per person. They say you have a 2 hr limit but they purposely drag out the time to bring out your meats because that's more money for them if you're paying $30 per head for 8 people ($240) but only eating like $60 worth of crap. We've had to wait between each 2 sets of dishes they brought to the point where the pan kept burning because there was nothing on it. They give you a 4 dish limit at a time but only bring out 2 dishes every 40 mins. So basically you've paid $240 not including tip and tax for only 4 damn dishes. The 2 times we had a quick server, we got our money's worth. The rest of the times we've come here it's been the usual purposely serving everything late or disappearing for longer than half an hour so they wouldn't have to refill anything. A real scam. It's why we go to Yakiniku even though it's pricier. Korean food made by real Korean ajhummas.

Service was sooo Bad! You can only order 4 at a time, then we ends waiting 15-20 minutes for the next 4items. It was only 7pm & they told us there's no fork availabe, like Seriously??? How can u run out of fork that early! And yet they expect you to give an 18% Tip because there's 8 of us

Food is super good, but getting constantly taken off the wait list and watching other people get seated when you have Been waiting for nearly 2 hours is not fun. You have workers sitting on their phone behind the bar and other just hanging out around dirty tables, been watching workers just pile up trash and dishes on multiple tables and not cleaning them for 2 hours.
Informed after being seated and brought out drinks that there wasn't much on the menu available. It would've slipped before, but preferably, I would like to be informed before seating like a short heads up. Something along the lines of "I do would like to let you know we have some menu items that are unavailable at the moment, your server could further inform you." I understand it's a restaurant it's bound to happen, but it should be a priority to make sure you have satisfied customers once they sit to till leave. Thanks.

My experience at Gen Korean BBQ at another location was unfortunately underwhelming to say the least and this location, it seemed to have given me the same impression. The service was practically non-existent. We found ourselves having to resort to raising our hands to catch the attention of servers, which detracted significantly from the dining experience. The food was mediocre at best. It lacked the depth of flavor that I have experienced from other Korean BBQ establishments on the island. Furthermore, the handling of our reservation left much to be desired. Despite our friend making reservations in advance (for her birthday mind you), our party was informed upon arrival that the reservation was not on the list. This miscommunication led to an awkward situation where we were made to wait outside while the host consulted with the manager. This delay was particularly frustrating, especially considering the restaurant was relatively empty at the time. The combination of mediocre food, lackluster service, and mishandled reservation slightly dampened the occasion. The only thing that made this a fun evening was spending time with friends and celebrating a birthday.

Kapolei Gens, the atmosphere of the restaurant is very nice and subtle. We ordered the brisket, pork belly, garlic chicken and Hawaiian steak. All the meats were of good quality & tasted good. I just wished our server was more attentive. Everytime we needed more meats, rice or drinks we had to wait awhile. To the point where a manager who was in the middle of serving other tables noticed we were in need of service. He came over asked what we needed and was back in 2 mins. He literally did the most for us as our server was constantly not checking on us and when she would, we'd already have gotten things from random employees in the restaurant. Maybe our server was having an off day? Idk..either way we tipped her. & All in all, the service is what will keep us from returning to this location. It shouldn't take 15 mins for every time you need more meat, or a new bowl of rice or even a simple glass of Coke. 2 stars for the workers who could read the room & took initiative to help us out.
