The cornbread was soggy on the outside and cold on the inside. I couldn't d even finish the meal. Much different experience that the other times I visited. The hostess was nice though.

Friendly and welcoming. I got the fried turkey from here. (first time) It was suggested by a friend, cause they got theirs nice and hot the year before and ready to eat. I was excited to finally taste a fried turkey. My pick up time was at 11am, Thanksgiving day. To my amazement, the turkey was cold and had to be put in the oven for about 2hrs. Man, was i pissed. Not only was my lunch party starting at 12pm. My turkey was not gonna be ready. Long story short, we had a late lunch / early dinner, I will not be getting this again, or will I suggest a turkey from this place. Food for thought, maybe next year, you should advise people that the turkeys might have to be warmed up 2hrs before they set up any type of party. A disclosure of some other.

I don't think the price and the value of the food match, personally. I went here on a Saturday evening. I ordered the pork chops with collard greens and red beans and rice. My boyfriend ordered the shrimp with grit and a side of mac and cheese plus two drinks. All of this was around $75. The service was not bad but we didn't like the food. We are both from the south and had high hopes for this place, but this one was not the place for us.

We were vacationing in Hawaii and our daughter was ecstatic to find this place! The service was great and the atmosphere was pleasant with good music and a wide screen television. I personally loved the scriptures written on the booths! The food was piping hot delicious from the ribs, the catfish, black eyed peas, greens and the Mac and cheese was amazing! The corn bread was moist and so good! The portions were large we had leftovers! Loved this hidden gem!
Parking: There are lots of businesses but parking is free and can be found.

Hughley’s delivers premade lunches to my place of work on base and a vendor sells them at the building entrance. A year ago, the meals were really good and worth the money. Now, they are disgusting and look and taste like week old leftovers that have been microwaved more than a few times. As other reviews mention, when there are vegetables, they appear to be canned. There aren’t a lot of places for good food near where I work and it was so nice to have an option when I forgot to pack my lunch. Now I’d rather go hungry. What happened?? Is this how you treat the military?

This was genuinely one of the three or four best meals I've ever had at this price point, which is currently roughly $25 a plate. Whoever is doing the frying in the kitchen is a wizard, getting perfect, even color and juiciness without any dark or dry spots, regardless of whether it was lightly fried catfish, or more deeply fried chicken and pork chops. The mac and cheese was sumptuous, just the right combination of cheese pull, smooth sauciness, and cheddar tang. The cornbread was a perfect balance of crumbliness, buttery flavor, corn richness, and sweetness. The friendly service was both attentive and brief enough to let us enjoy our meal, and the food was served surprisingly quickly. Highly, highly recommended, and we'll be back very soon.

Very upsetting since the prices are a little high.Ordered on Uber eats this time(I have before & it didn’t affect the quality). I wanted to try something new (the ribs) they just were nasty wasn’t a fan of the sauce. The Mac & cheese wasn’t fresh & just as other reviews for this company have said the yams were canned this time which is confusing because I could’ve sworn they were made from scratch the other times I’ve had them. Regardless giving canned yams just isn’t a great experience considering we can make that right at home…what’s the point of eating out at your restaurant for canned food? Anyways I have to add I’ve had at least two experiences where it was good but a good 3-4 where it wasn’t so that’s why I’m just gonna label it inconsistency instead of saying the food is just bad every time. Hopefully they adjust as there are customers that enjoy their stuff when it’s made well.

This right here have diabetes and health issues all over it but it’s 5 STAR southern food I loved every bit of it, chicken, catfish, Mac n cheese, candy yams, cornbread and SWEET TEA. Hands down well worth it. This coming from a South Carolina raised man.
