Tries the pastele stew at the Honolulu city Lights. Plate was $28 and I only took a few bites because it was pretty bad. Also had laulau that was ok, nothing special, and certainly not work almost $30. Maybe this is an off night but I really didn't like it.

Sorry but we tried the pasteles, pastele stew and gandule rice and it was the worst we have ever tasted. The stew taste like chili, rice was sour just like the pasteles. It was at the Blaisdel…needless to say we paid $38 for 2 plates. And yes am 100% Puertoriqueño….my advice, find a real Puerto Rican recipe in Google and follow it….won’t go wrong unless you deviate from it…

First met them at the Kroc Center during a Halloween themed food truck event they had going on. And then again during a HiFinest Concert. At the Kroc we got a pastele plate, it was super delicious, the rice wasn't hard and there was a lot of flavor. I told the owner about my love of burritos, and she told me the next time i see her at the concert she'd make one for me! She remembered a month later and the burrito was MASSIVE ! It was one of the best burritos i've had. You also have to try their Cookie Butter Mochi ! One of the tastiest mochi I have tried.

The rice was fluffy and moist and the pastele was well seasoned. I wanted to try this place but never had a chance to and was so happy to see them at foodie con. They had a long line but I was glad we waited, it was worth it. My husband loved both and he can be picky sometimes.

This is a family mom and pop owned and operated business that Mom started with her family to carry on the legacy of grandma.Together they share their grandmothers name and recipes, their hearts on their sleeves, hard work in time and effort to bring you delicious homemade meals. Where ever they are traveling to the community should be so grateful to have them and appreciate what they are doing each day. In the AIEA community there are few restaurants that serve Hawaiian AND Puerto Rican food dishes. The restaurant is mainly takeout and outside seating is shared by a neighboring sushi business. There's nothing fancy about the restaurant and hours of operation is limited to four 11 - 3 pm. They divide their time between a food truck as well. They do their very best to share the legacy of grandma!I experienced their food(s) when they first began and discovered a wonderful home cooked meals to be ono delicious. I love chicken long rice so that's my goto dish. Pastille stew oh so yummy with rice.Won't you give they a try and perhaps you will find your favorite and feel really good inside that you can and are also helping to support a beautiful mom and her family as they help your community. They are wonderful people like yourself!Aloha

Saw on their IG page that they would be at the taste of Waipahu this past Saturday. Which was perfect because I always forget to get off the freeway when I am passing their Aiea location. If you wanna support local this is the place to go, based on my assumption it looked like 3 different generations where sitting there working at the event. Grandma overseeing it all, mom running the show, and adult kids working the register and food. the aroma from their booth was intoxicating. I had the Killah combo and the food was good, nice flavor and was perfect before going to the UH Volleyball game. I loved how they prepackaged the mac salad and kept it on ice because nothing i dislike more than warm mac salad(warm mayo just weird). Only thing i was bummed about was, I thought it was a stew/pastele combo, but it was more like two servings of rice with just a small layer of stew on top. I would definitely go back and try something else and continue to support a family.

The Gandule rice was dry and my food wasn't hot. I would not recommend this place. They were on their phone.

Was Ono for pasteles and gondule rice near by. Found them on IG and decided to give them a try. Saw the Murdah Combo and it looked awesome. Gondule rice, pastele stew, pasteles, kalua pig, pork Lau Lau, lomi salmon and Mac salad (both not shown cause no more room). Talk about too much of a good thing. Everything hit on point. So much it was overwhelming. Then you toss in the Hawaiian chili peppah watah.. ??? brah un-freakin real. Worth the $29 price tag. Would definitely go again, but gonna tone it down cause in still recovering from that plate. Go go get yours!!!! ???

I've tried their food before at an event. It was yummy so I decided to go to their storefront and get plates to share with friends. These two friends absolutely love Puerto Rican food. So, they know what's good food. I knew they would love it! We just finished eating and we're all so stuffed. Hard to get back to work after eating all this ono food. They give choke food so can have for lunch again tomorrow. I called to place order. Super easy and had my daughter pick it up. Definitely will be back here again! Yummy food. And nice people! No can go wrong!

You can smell the pastele spices just walking up to this place and it's amazing!! It's a take out place but there is a few small tables in the parking lot that you can use if need be. We ordered the pastele stew plate and Hawaiian combo and WOW, you will not be disappointed! I almost feel bad and feel like I'm cheating on Jackie's but hey, if you're in the area this is a must!
