Decided to try this place out for a quick lunch. Fried salmon bento was surprisingly yummy. Everything was perfectly fried and good amount of sauce. Owners are friendly too. Would come again!

This is a literal hole in the wall, easy to miss in a covered parking lot near the McDonald’s. There’s outdoor seating, pretty much right in the parking lot.
Food quantity is high and the sushi rolls have some of the lowest ratios (in a good way) of rice to non-rice. The fried food was very good, not too greasy with a great crunch and the food tasted very fresh.
Service was exceptionally friendly. The nice man that took our order and served us even brought out some free bottles of water for us.
I love finding places like this that feel like it’s locals, for locals.

I've been coming here for almost weekly for three years and it's one favorite places on Oahu. Delicious sushi with one of the friendliest people you'll ever meet.

One of the hidden gem of Aiea. They have the most excellent services and food is delicious. The owner always so nice and always has the smile. His son, is very outgoing and always interacted with customers. I highly recommend Makoto Sushi to anyone.

This was the first time I bit into a sushi and wondered, where is the rice? This place is GENEROUS with its filling. My first time getting sushi here, because it’s usually closed when I’m in this area. But I will definitely go out of the way to get sushi again in this true hole-in-the-wall spot.
Also, the sales man here is suuuper friendly and reminds me of the kind of hospitality and welcoming you get back in Japan.

This sushi spot is an absolute hidden gem! Tucked away under a covered parking garage, it might be a bit tricky to find, but it's well worth the effort. The sushi rolls are huge and packed with flavor. The Dragon Tears roll was a standout—simply delicious! Fresh ingredients, great presentation, and a unique atmosphere make this place a must-visit. Highly recommend for any sushi lover looking for something special!

Incredible sushi, and the man at the counter was very nice. You know the food is good when it has such great reviews and it’s located in a garage area. Perfect lunch!

The owner greeted us and was super kind. Always had a smile on his face. We ordered 3 rolls that were huge and very filling. He also gave us free mando and congratulated me and my husband for our newborn baby. That was a sweet gesture. I definitely recommend this place. So worth your money and fantastic customer service! We loved the sushi, thank you!

Best sushi I’ve ever had. Great price for the quality AND quantity. The rolls themselves are huge. The fish is incredibly fresh. 100% worth going to. All 8 rolls we tried were phenomenal with their pairings (fish, sauce, toppings/garnishes etc - every combination was great). Wait time was not too long at all for such a big order! No seating inside the establishment but there are a few tables outside! Did not have any issues finding a parking space.

I was introduced to this place when I worked at the Aiea Medical Building across the street. My coworkers would rave about their plates and different rolls. I was pregnant at the time so I was very conservative and only had the California roll and it was delicious.
Since having my baby, I’ve been multiple times and am never disappointed. Generous portions, quick service, and the food is always delicious! The last time, my friend and I got the spicy ahi plate to share and a tempura plate for our children to share. Our babies ate the ahi more than we did!
Great quality and obviously delicious when you have local keiki trying to grab the ahi off the plate with their bare hands to shove into their mouths.
Parking: Lots of parking on the level, if you can’t find any, you can park in the lot below by Times or above by Aiea Bowl.
