Great burgers 😋 after a day at the beach. Be careful of the chickens 🐓 they are bold and will jump up on the table and try to get your food while you're eating. It was funny and we had a good laugh 😂. Our first time in Kauai and we definitely will be back to Kauai and to Duane's Ono-Char Burger 🤙🏻 *Also don't forget to pick up a Ono-Char Burger T-shirt*

Outstanding burger joint on the side of the road! Don’t miss it!! I had the poor mans surf and turf (burger and shrimp)! Great service and all fresh cooked and built from scratch!! Perfect service!
There’s a reason this place is a must whenever we visit the island and our experience this time was just as amazing as every other time we have come. Thankful they survived the pandemic. The quality of food, friendliness of staff and overall atmosphere were top tier. Our go-tos are always the teriyaki, local boy and local girl. If and or when you are on Kaua’i, make this happen on your way up to the North Shore. You won’t regret it.

The previously owned Ono-Char burger (was closed for a few years)… same location made absolutely delicious and huge burgers was raised on Kauai and this spot was a must eat at when going to Hanalei. Meat had a very distinct charcoal flavor- burgers were flavorful and juicy and fat!!!! Hefty Kaiser Buns were buttery and toasted. Veggies were generous. I believe that this restaurant is having success off of the amazing reputation it once had. Fast forward to our recent experience this month….my husband and I were visiting from the mainland. We expected quality-the same from the new owners and were sorely disappointed. Burger char taste was missing, burger itself was small and lacked seasoning flavor. Bun was very small. For a $15 dollar burger I was left feeling like I was gypped. The only redeeming quality of the meal was the fries were good. Wish they offered garlic salt and chili pepper vinegar water to douse fries in like the original. Hopefully, the new owners step up their game and make some changes. Unfortunately, I won’t be back to find out. So bummed.
