Not great ice cream imo but I appreciate that they are there. The mango had the most pronounced flavour was the best imo (we tried all the flavours). Good place to get out and stretch your legs and take a break in the long road to Hana.
While researching the road to Hana, I could not wait to visit Coconut Glen's due to all the rave reviews. Honestly, the ice cream itself was a little underwhelming but it was still good. Lots of ice chunks but it might have been an off day for us. Loved to see that there were so many flavor options, and that they could make floats or an affogato. All the ice cream is naturally made in-house, but this place unfortunately isn't 100% vegan as they use honey and bee pollen in some of their products. Definitely ask ahead before ordering (I wouldn't have known this if it weren't for happycow reviews). Adorable spot on the side of the road. The cats roaming around were all so sweet and friendly.
Quaint little outdoor pit stop along the road to Hana. Friendly service. Tried three flavors: coffee toffee, mint chip, and cookies ‘n cream. Texture was similar to that of an icey (rather than creamy ice cream) and was a bit pricy for the serving size (2 small scoops for $8). But all flavors were tasty overall! Very cool to know it’s made from fresh coconuts (which are also sold at the truck). Updated from previous review on 2025-01-25

Not a fan! Food was good but the lady was rude.
The ice cream was underwhelming, far from the standard Maui gelato has set. Despite glowing Google reviews, it didn’t deliver. The coconut flavor had chunks that added texture and flavor, but the pineapple banana was bland, lacking both pineapple and banana flavor. The orange cats were definitely the highlight of this stop! The ice creams, cookies, root beer floats are all vegan. The other baked goods are not. Fresh pineapple and coconut also available.
Owner was very nice and coconut ice cream was really good, all 6 flavors our family had!

What a gem! The ice cream was delicious and the little sitting area was so cute and colorful. The owner was really kind to us and everyone else in line. My husband was skeptical of dairy free ice cream at first, but he loved it after the first bite. A 5 minute must stop on the road to Hana!

We stopped by Coconut Glen’s during our Road to Hana trip, and it was a delightful treat! We tried the original coconut flavor, which was refreshing, with a perfect balance of coconut crisp and not too sweet. We also had the Pineapple Banana flavor, which had a nice tropical punch to it. The surrounding area is charming, making it a great spot to relax and enjoy a break on your trip. Highly recommend stopping here for a unique ice cream experience!
P.S. they are open later than other stands, which is a big plus!
