“Awesome vegetarian spring rolls fresh made to order, not premade frozen. We had dinner plans elsewhere so didn’t get to try more this time but will definitely be back. They also had every kind of Mexican and Asian hot sauce available on the island. There are complaints about it being slow but that’s because it’s all fresh made, this isn’t fast food and there are plenty of nice seating around to enjoy some down time”

“Oh my gosh, I had heard about mama’s fish house for years from my family and from other people. I was finally lucky enough to try it with some of my best girlfriends! It did not disappoint at all. “This was our first restaurant in Maui right after getting the rental car, and I can say that it was an amazing start to the trip. Its a small place may be 10 tables to expect wait. The service is prompt and courteous. Food is the star of the show. We ordered the Chicken cutlet, Kumu Shrimp, poke and spam musubi. Everything was fantastic. I would definitely recommend this place.”

We both got the “bee sting” and it was the best coffee we had on the island while we were there! The honey was absolutely delicious! Everybody was so kind and happy to show us what they were working on and answer questions. The bees were so awesome. BEAUTIFUL views! 20/10 recommend. I only wish we could have done their farm to table as well. Their passion shines through!”

“Balai Pata is an absolute gem, and absolutely needed on North Shore / Central Maui in what’s otherwise a restaurant abyss of tourist forward formulaic burgers & fish tacos. Part of me wants to keep it a secret, but it deserves way more recognition than it has received. I’m honestly shocked it’s not packed every single night. Their innovative fusion menu is both playful and thoughtful, with fresh, farm-to-table dishes that change often enough to keep every visit exciting. The staff are the sweetest aunties, making us feel like family and doting on our toddler every time we come. Our little one (and the rest of us!) can’t get enough of their malunggay (moringa) handmade garlic noodles. No liquor license yet, so it’s BYOB, which makes for an even more relaxed, homey vibe. Easily one of our favorite spots on the island - and I’m sure it will become one of your favorites too.”
