There was a small delay initially, but our server was extremely apologetic and checked on us multiple times throughout the meal to ensure everything was okay. I'm a little judgemental when it comes to burgers, especially smash burgers. But these folks care about their food! I was peeking in the kitchen and was super happy to see they bread their own chicken, form their own patties, and prep their own toppings. This place is serious good food, cold drinks, and a super chill atmosphere. Definitely check it out”

She hovers over while trying to make a decision in ordering--feel rushed. Also, she hovers again when paying the bill--like she may think we are going to run off, or stiff her on a tip. Management--it seems she just needs training to become a real waitress.
She doesn't seem understand what she is indirectly projecting to customers. Otherwise, She is warm, and provides good service.”

“Sam Sato’s is one of those spots where you walk in as visitors and walk out feeling like part of the neighborhood. My friends and I stopped by and were instantly swept up in the warm, local vibe — friendly staff, quick service, and an ambiance that feels both classic and comforting.

We tried a little bit of everything and honestly enjoyed it all. The cheeseburger deluxe hits that perfect old-school diner nostalgia. The signature dry noodles are a must, and the super dry noodles with vegetables takes it to another level. Don’t skip the yakitori — simple, smoky, and delicious.

“Hempy's was fantastic hole in the wall place. The setting is super cozy and the food is delicious. The portion sizes, options , and quality of the food were great. The entire menu is vegan and has that home made quality to it. The service was also great , very polite and personable.”

I went there to shoot a game of pool or two. to my surprise there was a person there named Charlie or Chuck as I like to call them. that made me feel like I have known them for a long time. ya know that feeling when you maybe knew someone in a past life. everyone there was cool as hell. welcoming for sure. mostly locals small family ran family owned bar. the bartender was on point and the drinks are exactly what you want. nothing but good vibes there...... PS if you go in there ring the bell. and let them know that Lee did warn you. I'll be back...... alot!”

“This bar has friendly owners, bartenders and amazing food. Fried Chicken is a hit, their poke nachos is my favorite from the PUPU menu, steak and onion to perfection, and ice cold beer always. You will not regret your visit because of the awesome service that they provide, an immediate greeting as you walk in the door always, I haven’t been to a bar on Maui that had such good service. If you love to sing 🎤 Karaoke I highly recommend this place. Thank you Tokyo Lounge OHANA (family). Oh another thing I forgot to mention is that they Host private parties. I am definitely going to make reservations here by calling ahead of time to make sure I get a spot for my private birthday parties. Oh yes an awesome live bands as well.”

“I am happy to see this local family get a brick and mortar location. For those of you that are from upcountry. These are the guys that used to do the ono BBQ on the weekends a few years ago. Then they were in Lahaina for a little while then at Foodland Maui Lani. Now they have this place. The food is still great and the value is awesome. These guys really give you bang for your buck. This trip I ordered the BBQ Steak plate and the BBQ chicken Plate. They both come with rice and green salad and their house dressing which I love the taste. I have tried almost everything on the menu with the exception of some of the specials and I can say they have some of the best BBQ plates on the island. I really like their BBQ chicken the flavor is all the way thru the meat. The location is new to them so it is still a little bare but they are working on it. I highly recommend these guys. The service is really good and I really like the fact that I am supporting hard working locals than know how to crank out good food at a good price. I recommend stopping by. The nice thing is you can buy the meat by the pound if you extra hungry.”

My boyfriend and I are at the drive thru every morning just after they open, while it’s still dark out. Our drinks are always good, of course, but what sets this location apart from all of the others is the customer service. They are always welcoming, friendly, know your favorite drinks, and just in general are exceptional at attracting and keeping happy customers. I honestly think, as a former restaurant owner, that they should be the gold standard. Just drive by this location and you will see that there is ALWAYS a long line of cars! Kudos to all of the wonderful Starbucks staff at the Wailuku location!”

“Decided to try this place out instead of going to McDonald’s which is in the same parking lot. Ordered two of the breakfast plates. One with corned beef and the other with bacon. Both came with eggs and white rice. For the 2 breakfast it was about $14. Which is the price it would have been for about one breakfast across the parking lot. The service was quick as there was only one other party ahead of us. The decor is kinda sparse but there is plenty of seating. Overall the food was good especially for the price.”
