“I loved my recent trip to Maui, but I’m honestly going to miss going to AA roots and superstars the most out of anything 😂. Feeding my Husband while on vacation is honestly one of our biggest struggles, which made finding these places sanity saving. My Vegan and non-Vegan Family members all loved this place. Everything was full of flavor and absolutely delicious. Biggest highlight were the soba bowl and Cesar Salad which were standard on the menu and when we went they had a falafel special and pumpkin taco specials, all delicious.

Also if you like, Matcha definitely give their vanilla Matcha, and all desserts, my favorite was the refrigerated raspberry chocolate cake. I wish I had more photos of the food we ate but we were so excited to eat we would devour it before remembering 😅.”

“We love going to Leilani’s on the Beach. The service is top-notch, and the setting cannot be beat (although admittedly, many Maui b chaise restaurants match it… West Maui is amazing!). Every meal we’ve tried has been delicious. When we first visited in 2008, it inspired us to name our daughter-to-come Leilani. She is now 17 and we are on our way back soon for her grad trip. Can’t wait to see you in April!”

“Some of the best sushi I’ve ever had without a doubt. Unique choices along with the usual combos. Large selection of sushi and poke dishes. If you’re in a hurry, call ahead and order because they make everything when ordered including cutting up the poke. Not fast food, and they don’t apologize for that, but it’s worth the wait. There are four covered picnic tables if you want to stay and eat, but they obviously do a lot of take out orders because there was a steady stream of those while we were there. If you’re in Maui, make this one of your food stops!”

“I am a longtime customer at Naplil Coffee Store and I highly recommend them. Their coffee is superb. They make the best lattes on the island and they have wonderful bakery goods. My favorite is the blueberry muffin and the almond Joy cookies. They also have a wonderful quiche, either bacon or veggie and goes along great with your coffee. They get five stars from me every time.”

“Incredible atmosphere and overall size - this lobby bar at the Ritz Maui is massive and well decorated. The bar itself is against the wall (not facing the water) and has large TVs which I think hurts the atmosphere.

Service at the bar is great, but service at a table was hit or miss. Prices were ridiculously high and the food quality didn't match the price tag.

As the lobby bar, it's one of your few options on property. It's super pretty and relaxing, but be prepared to pay and not be thrilled by the food.”

“Nice small coffee shop near our hotel. The cafe is small with no seats. They grind their coffee on the spot so the aroma is unbelievably good. As soon as you step through the door, the coffee smell is so awesome. I thought the smell would go away after you get used to it. However, because they grind new coffee for every order, you continue to smell fresh coffee. Quite an experience just being there.

I ordered a 16 oz ice latte and it came out to be about $6+ with tips. Which is not bad. The taste is nice and refreshing.

This place was recommended by a local that I met up north near the Costco and think it was not bad at all. I would definitely come back if convenient.”

“We stayed for 4 nights in the resort for my aloha birthday dream getaway and it was truly amazing stay. The staffs are so friendly and accommodating mostly are Filipinos like me. Our room was upgraded to a partial ocean view which makes us feel so special though breakfast buffet is just fair not much of food selections. Overall the resort is amazing with pool views and the beach!”

“My daughters and I went with our friends. It was a group of 9 and we all loved it! We paid for the vip so that we could be front to the show, it was worth it. The food was exquisite. The show itself was excellent even in the rain. I was amazed at the level of love and commitment the dancers had because as the show started the rain did too and it got stronger, but they kept dancing with a smile. Thank you for sharing your culture through dance. I would highly recommend it!”

“Decided to take a chance on this one despite the reviews. It may not be a production of the scale that some of the hotels put together, but this one makes up for that with the people involved. All of the performers were local and related in some way, and we got the feeling that they really care about telling the story of the islands and the surrounding region. Food was good (vegetarian so can’t speak to the meats) and the performances were exciting and engaging. Two drinks included per person and seconds were encouraged. We even learned some hula! Would recommend supporting this up and coming luau production!”

Stopped by this small local spot and ordered the rib and chicken combo with rice and macaroni salad. Everything was delicious. The portions were generous, the prices were reasonable, and the food was full of flavor.

It was a nice change from the overpriced beachfront restaurants and really hit the spot after a long day at the beach. If you’re looking for a filling, affordable meal on Maui, this place is definitely worth checking out.”

Not sure if its just Hawaii or this location but we LOVED the mango / matcha / lychee + coconut flavors that we ended going everyday!! Their coffee was okay though and I believe there are better breakfast options in the area, especially with the line out the door.”

“The service is about to get allot better. They are bringing in a ringer. This dude can handle a floor by himself. He's like a duck in water. Mind you if the whole place is full you must be patient. I guarantee there won't be any sloppy moves. Remember there were only a few servers. It starts at the hostess/ host stand on giving the guests an accurate wait time. Just because you get sat doesn't mean the server is ready for you. But there is no excuse for some of the comments I read. This is about to be fixed. This guy is going to train the rest of the staff that need help. I can't wait to see the improvement. It's about having fun and being on top of your game. Every move must be 3 steps in advance. You should never be looking around for a coffee refill of wanting a check. If there is an issue with your food the 3 minute check back is when you get to voice your opinion. If a server asks "how is everything? " be honest. We want you to enjoy it. Don't feel bad letting us know how we can improve your meal. That's what we get paid to do. We wanna know! If you haven't figured it out yet... I'm the ringer. Come see me and the rest of the new improved crew. We look forward to making your day start out right. Then get on out and enjoy Maui!”

“We just so happened to stumble upon Slappy Cakes while driving by in Maui! We decided to check it out before heading back home from vacation and Slappy Cakes did NOT disappoint!! The food was incredible, the atmosphere was great, and everyone was very friendly. Coy was our server and we will never forget how awesome he was!! Not only was he an excellent and very prompt server but he stayed after closing time to finish a conversation with us about the island that left a lasting impact on our hearts. Most would have pushed us out, but not a single staff at Slappy Cakes rushed us out at close so we could enjoy our meal and our experience while also making powerful connections! “Gorgeous restaurant with extensive varied menu. Portions and options are on the light side, and veggie centric. The home grown blistered cherry tomatoes are exceptional. Breakfast is five star although look at the ingredients closely to see if the typical ingredients are vegan. The bagel with salmon didn’t have cream cheese, it may have been vegan.”

“Because you are at the resort expect to pay quite a bit for a drink and food. It’s very convenient as it is right by the pool, so you don’t need to go far for lunch as you are lounging. Ended up getting a pina colda which was not the best. It hurt paying so much for a not very tasty drink. Plenty of other options that were likely better.”
