I thought this works be a really fun experience for my 8 year old, but the restaurant was eerily quiet, food was just okay, and it was crazy expensive. The chef tired tried his best to get the table going, but we were the only seated table (there were only 2 chefs working) and with no music, the ambiance was just...weird. Not the experience I was going for.
The food was excellent. The service was very good. It is hard to substitute a Hawaiian chef for a Japanese chef. That just doesn't seem right but our Hawaiian chef was good. The five minute grace period for the reservation is a bit tight and I didn't appreciate the phone call at 5:01 telling me I'm late. It seems a bit overpriced for the dollar spend but service, food, quality, and humorous chef made up for the price we paid. I'd recommend it for a nice change of pace.

The food is outstanding, and the portions will satisfy the hungriest appetite. I had the ribeye and catch of the day combination which was marlin, and it was delicious! Our chef put on a great show, and kept us entertained throughout the proceedings. Highly recommended!
