“Amazing people - my first stop in Maui and we really felt the aloha here! So impressed with the food here! The meats were tender and cooked perfectly. We could really tell the amount of pride that went into every dish. They have a small area to sit that is shared with other trucks. Mahalo for the Ono eats ~Aloha“
“Aloha Braised is always one of my first stops. Due to the August 2023 Lahaina wildfire, the food truck has found a temporary spot in Kahului on Alamaha, on the Dairy Road side. Enjoyed the Teppanyaki Thursday special with steak, shrimp, fried rice, veggies and ginger sauce. Aloha Braised also caters. Ordered pans of Furikake Mahi Mahi, Mochiko chicken with volcano sauce and hurricane sauce on the side, New York Steak, Pork Belly and Macaroni salad. We loved everything! Aloha Braised is hoping to be back in Lahaina at their Island Grocery location at the end of November. Check IG and Facebook for updates.“
“Every item here at a Merienda Maui food truck was delicious. The only mistake we made was not eating here sooner, since we would have returned to try more of the menu.We selected two types of tacos, the Shrimp and the Thai Beef Tacos. The shrimp tacos are served with a cabbage slaw, a ginger sesame dressing (not a strong flavor), gochujang aioli (dominant flavor that worked well with the shrimp), and some pickled red onions on top. Somewhat simple but all flavors combine well, the shrimp stands out with the aioli, and it has a tropical sense to it. The Thai Beef Tacos use a Thai marinade on the beef (sourced from Maui, though I couldn't tell the difference from regular beef in these chunks in a taco). Beyond that it's a common taco with a tomato salad (pico de gallo), jalapeño, cilantro, and mint (rather than a common diced onion pairing). The marinade infused into each piece of beef and truly carried the dish. I would have eaten it without the garnishes, though they do help fill out the taco. I also thought this was the most basic item we ordered, and would want to try out other items before repeating this.Lastly the Phili-bistek Sando with fries was the true star of the show. It reads as a cheesesteak with bell peppers and onions, and Mayo/chimichurri sauce on top. Yet I think this meat was also marinated, since I can't conceive how much umami was oozing from this burger. It is hands down the best cheesesteak I have every had...and I've been to Philadelphia. I found other recipes online that use a soy marinade to prepare the beef (tapa beef seems to be the Filipino name), and this sounds like it tasted. There was a lot of beef pieces, we shared the burger along 3 people, and I think that the circular shape made it seem larger than if it had been on a longer hoagie bread. Onion jam rather then regular onions would keep the tastebuds working, the Japanese Mayo would introduce both tangy and sweet flavors, and the chimichurri would add parsley, cilantro, and garlic notes. The burger was messy, but worth it. And the fries were extra crispy, similar to In-N-Out double fried fries but thicker. These work perfectly with just ketchup. We considered the Umami fries, which have gochijang and Mayo and Furikake at the same time, and I think all that sauce would reduce the crispiness of the fries. I would still try it, but the fries are top notch and a quick dip in ketchup is all that is needed. The Okonomiyaki Brussel sprouts also sound like an amazing Asian take on the vegetable and something to try next time.“
“We were looking for the best Mexican food in the Lahaina area and found Adriana's Cocina. We ordered chicken enchiladas dinner and the taco dorados dinner. Both dinners were very delicious and freshly cooked. We definitely will return on our next vacation in Maui.“
“Okay first off, I wish I took a picture of the truck.. they're covered in cute stickers and trinkets! The lady greeted us so kindly, gave us some information on the food and not one lie was told. She told us the sauces go with every flavor of mochi and omg it was so good! We got all the flavors of mochi (poi, strawberry and ube) along with the caramel sauce and pog sauce. They were all so good that it made me forget about the deep fried pb&j I got lol definitely will be back!!“
“Had the pork belly with tomatoes and onions, food was amazing. Literally left Fleetwood’s because their lunch menu was boring. Jayboy’s photos alone had me sold. If you’re on the island, stop by your local food truck because that’s where the flavor is.“
“Chicken cutlet was great, thick portion of chicken, not thin and crusty like some other places. Mushroom burger was great too, moist and delicious. My boy had loco moco and for a big guy, he couldn't finish his plate, saved it for breakfast. Will definitely go back again.“
“Hands down most authentic Mexican food on Maui. Unreal taste. SO fresh and delicious. Don’t miss out on this place. Can say as Australian tourists we are so glad we found this gem ?We got the sirloin steak burrito and birria cheese melt was just delicious. Also get the “squirt” grapefruit soda straight from Mexico!!Best place ever.“
“Fantastic local's roach coach park in Lahaina with very competitive pricing compared to the one opposite Times which is getting as pricey as restaurants! Free parking too, and a good selection of ethnic foods, all tasty (yes we have eaten at them all multiple times...lol).Smash makes the BEST sushi, mouthwateringly good, fresh and accompanied by their Smash Sauce...YUM! We also had some of their katsu and it was the bomb. Staff were friendly, there are tables for you to sit and enjoy your meal, usually someone playing music on a boom box, and they have decorated the area with flowers in pots. Smanchy for a truck lot.Smash does take out and catering too, so if you want a quick bite to eat or you want a party sized Sushi platter give them a call. You won't regret it ;)“
“Wasn't expecting to get Mexican food in Maui and I needed up finding the Best Birria tacos I've ever had. Quesabirria tacos are great and the consome tops it off perfectly. Not a lot of places to sit, but I'd eat these off of the ground if I had to. The owners are really friendly and the food comes out quick. A great stop right when you land at the airport at the food round up by costco.“
“What a little gem to find amoung all the food trucks in this area! Got the pulled pork fries, a MUST get item! Amazing, my belly was in love! Also got the Thai chicken tacos and cheese sticks which were good. I wish I could have tried everything but only was in town two days. Get the crème brûlée as it will satisfy your sweet tooth especially because I have rarely seen it in Plantbased form. Unlike most food trucks, food prep was fairly quick in the food truck area. There are picnic tables with umbrellas, free to enjoy the food we walked here from the embassy suites and is walkable pretty much from most of the hotels. I did not see any areas for cars to park, but there could have been behind the building/shopping plaza next-door.“
“It was a warm day and an umbrella was available to use for shade as I waited to place my order. I had a polite young lady take my order and received it in a reasonable amount of time. Although this wasn't the best açaí bowl I ever had, I am satisfied with its presentation and flavor. I would definitely come back.“
“Note: this food truck is now in downtown Lahaina! Stoked to have it over here! We have eaten here twice once for a breakfast burrito and once for the grilled cheese. Amazing because I haven't found any breakfast burritos around here. The grilled cheese sandwiches are freaking amazing! They're unique & packed with different local ingredients. On the corner of Lahainaluna rd and Waihe'e in the parking lot of the new Maui Sunriders bike shop. I believe this food truck focuses on on breakfast and lunch and may close around 2 or 3pm.“
“Some of my favorite breakfast tacos I have ever had. Made fresh per order, with fresh homemade salsa that will blow you away. The three alarm and migos tacos are both incredible- so flavorful and the perfect way to start your day. Because they're made fresh, the wait can take some time- I recommend texting (yes texting) your order ahead of time to the owner/chef so you aren't waiting there too long. I go almost every morning when in Maui, it's that good. It operates out of a truck conveniently located off the road in a pull out area with a delicious açaí truck as well. Small picnic tables around if you want to eat there, and lots of chickens. Cannot recommend enough.“
“The banana bread is awesome. Get it when it's warm and you won't be disappointed. There is a little walk through the forest, across the street, that leads to a rocky beach. The area is beautiful and looks like a good snorkeling area.“
“Took us a minute to find inside the hotel. Free parking available to outside guests right next to the hotel. Once you walk through the lobby to the courtyard, it's on the right side looking towards the ocean. Staff was super friendly and you could tell they enjoyed their jobs. We got ours "fully loaded" with ice cream and the topping which was DELICIOUS. ended up being about $11, but it was worth every penny. Flavors were strong without being too syrupy. Ice cream was rich and creamy. There is a great seating area to enjoy your treat right next to the shop.“
“808 was recommended by Dee's Poi Mochi as great food truck fare in Lahaina. Our experience is that some of it is solid and some less than expected. We tried their fish, carne asada, and Al pastor tacos. Here the fish was the most flavorful, partly due to flavoring on fish and also the generous sauce on top (see second pic). Al pastor taco solid, though a bit drier than what I usually think of Al pastor tacos. Carne asada taco was underwhelming. Would get fish again and try other items. A taco plat comes with rice and beans, and the dirty rice was strong flavor while beans with cheese on top was expectedly bland.Loved their al pastor tacos and fish tacos. Their rice was super flavorful too. Skip the carne asada tacos. Recommended by Dee's, food was okay.“
“Just finished my massage and stopped in for lunch. The food was excellent and served quickly. The prices are great and the guys working the truck were so kind and just plain awesome. I love this place!! I had two steak (Asada) tacos and a Mexican Coca Cola. Yum!!“
“I was worried when I saw 1 of the 2 guys holding a huge bunch of cilantro - but we agreed on how disgusting it is, and I was assured none would be on the pulled pork sliders I wanted, so that's what I had and they were fantastic! Great food, and really nice guys. Thank you / Mahalo!“
“This was highly recommended by a staff member of our hotel. Their fish salad was phenomenal! Dont be fooled by the photo, there's a good amount of fish under the salad. Fish was crunchy outside but tender and juicy and perfectly cooked inside. The tanginess and crunch of the green mango salad with the dressing was a perfect complement to the umami of the fish. The dressing added a delightful touch making it a refreshing and filling dish. We were hesitant to order it at first but omg soooo good! The spring rolls were delicious too!“
“Two trucks are open for lunch, the white Burgers truck and the adjacent red Tacos truck. I got a Mushroom & Swiss burger from the burgers truck, and it was great, loved it! The fries with it were very good, standard type but nicely done and tasty.“
“Don't miss the opportunity to have the best breakfast in Lahaina at this food truck. We were disappointed with our restaurant experiences and decided to try this option. The pucking pancakes and ham, egg & cheese croissant were excellent. Made with love! The outdoor seating area provides an ocean view, parking is ample and the owner is congenial. Perfect combination.“
