Stumbled upon this place on the road to Hana. It smelled awesome so we had to stop. The mixed BBQ plate was awesome. It had pork, chicken, rice and a fern salad. It was all so delicious. The guy working the grill was super friendly and cool. The seating is in old tram cars. The "plates" are big chunks of bamboo. The utensils are hand cut bamboo chopsticks. I can't say enough about how incredible this place was. It is a must stop on your road to Hana.

$30 for a platter that will feed two people. There is not a single inorganic item used the plate is banana the chopsticks or bamboo. And I watched them pick the salad up the hill from The shack shack. Everything tasted great!

$30 for a meal which is 50% bones is a rip off. Another $10 for a coconut. But the setting is very.. authentic.

Best Hawaiian bbq on the island period. When we got there they only had ribs left but those may have been the best pork ribs I’ve ever eaten!

When we drove up onto this place we were starving! The service was nice and friendly. The only option we had was chicken, 2 plates - $60. Only drink option was fresh coconut (warm) I think it would’ve been better chilled in some way I guess. We did get half a pineapple too which was delicious 😋. It’s no 5⭐️ restaurant but it’s very good if you have been on trails all morning. The trolley carts were a fun place to dine. Bamboo chop sticks do take a little getting use to but we managed! 🤗

Looked like this place has been closed for months when we went, could be it was just closed on Sundays but it looked unused for a long time. Cool little atmosphere though, love the trolley benches and the vibes felt cool. Hopefully it's open still cause it was fun just to take pictures!

Coconut was expensive $10.00 but the guy had good heart. Once customer came in and she didn't have cash and I asked why he gave free Coconut to her and he said its not always about the money, if you dongood u get good business, go heart.

Vegetarian options: We drank coconut water.

100% stop here for bbq. Homeboy whipped up a bamboo log of scrumptoulioumus pork, chicken, rice and greens. Definitely a dope experience and I even ate it while sitting in an abandoned bus whilest a sweet cute puppy came up and asked for lovings from us. If you’re going on the road to Hana this is the place to go? make sure you tip them on top of cost, making bbq is not easy work!

The combo was delicious - BBQ pork (also chicken when available) with rice and salad, a coconut, and pineapple slices - all for $25 (cash only). A great lunch spot on the road to Hana. Also an eating area in an old trolley which was good shelter from the rain.

This was a delicious and awesome experience! We got a plate with bbq chicken and pork, served on a banana leaf with rice and salad. Additionally we got a coconut, passion fruit, pineapple, and papaya. Everything felt authentic, and the staff were very friendly and engaging. Well worth the stop, this was just the pick-me-up we needed!

Parking: Large Parking Lot. Plenty of Parking Space and easy to maneuver back onto Hanas Meandering Road.
