Possibly the worst Mexican food I’ve ever had. I would suggest never eating here unless you like extremely overpriced terrible food served on paper plates, in very small portions. The Steak taco was dried out With no extra toppings except a few onions, no cheese, tomato nothing. The steak was an up charge the cashier didn’t bother to tell me and was like leather impossible to eat. stale tortilla and three day old steak. My friend ordered an enchilada plate that consisted of four very small enchiladas with hardly any sauce. No beans or rice served on two separate teeny paper plates terrible all that for only $19. The worst. But it was not noisy because there was nobody in there, and there was plenty of seating and parking because again nobody except a few people picking up takeout.

Personally being from SoCal I am particularly picky with my Mexican food. This place is by far one of the best and most authentic places I have found on island and is reasonable in price.

Easily one of the best Mexican food places on the island. The prices are good and the food is delicious. My only complaint is that they don't serve margaritas! Honestly, I am never disappointed.

The Best Mexican Food In town! I tried different plates and I just can say all of them are fire! They’ve got the best birria tacos I’ve ever try! I also tasted their tres leches cake, and their horchata, they are really good. If you’re looking for an authentic Mexican food, this is the place!

In short, I came here via a recommendation from a Mexican chef. Me and 4 friends were all extremely disappointed.
I hope this review helps provide data that can guide this place to a more consistent experience. I am open to believing that we should try this place again but it might take a year or so.
Here are 2 photos of the same shrimp tacos ordered by two of my friends. One of them is soupy and the other is more aligned with expectations.
My asada, chicken, and pastor tacos were pretty disappointing. They were cold when delivered and the actual tortilla was stale. The meat didn’t have much spice and I found myself drowning them in salsa to ingest the calories.
We got here at 1pm and at 2:15 we got our food. The staff dropped someone else’s food at our table that we had to bring back. The last person to get food had to ask for the plate that was just sitting there on the counter. Her food was also cold.
I pray that this place figured out how to consistently serve good food. Lord knows the island needs better Mexican food. I’ll come back in a year or two to try this place again but severely disappointed.

We loved our visit to Clay y Chuis restaurant! The restaurant was clean, well decorated and the perfect temperature to escape the heat. The food though, was DELICIOUS. We are Mexican and we can verify this is authentic Mexican food. Service was timely and Clau y Choi were hospitable 😊 you will not be disappointed if you visit this superb restaurant!

My first time here and what an excellent experience! The atmosphere was welcoming and vibrant, decorations were awesome! Excellent environment! The customer service was outstanding, Arianna was very helpful and kind in assisting me with what to order. She explained to me the items on their menu and told me what items were good. Still undecided, I didn't know what to order so I asked Arianna for her recommendation. Arianna said don't worry I got you! When I got my surprise order everything was delicious and authentic! The food was flavorful, you could tell they cooked with love! If in Wahiawa stop by and support local. I will be definitely coming back to try the rest of the menu. Thank you to Arianna and the cooks!
