This is the best food truck on island and we’ve tried them all. We’ve been eating here for twenty years. I think the other shrimp truck in the lot must pay for advertising because it’s always crowded but their food is sad and gross by comparison! Hono’s is cash pay only. Shrimp are large, cooked to perfection. Plate comes with two scoops of rice and cole slaw with a sweet sauce that’s heavenly. LOVE the garlic!

Honos shrimp provides great plump shrimp but lacking in flavor in multiple aspects. The garlic had no flavor and was just there for texture. The shrimp although very plump and cleaned well had very little shrimp taste even with garlic on it. Maybe some salt or lemon could've revived it but lacked any garlic and shrimp flavors.

Great food and service! If you’re looking to try a shrimp truck with more unique flavors, try their spicy (gochujang) garlic shrimp! I’ve been a few times and they never disappoint—portions are generous and flavorful. The #8 combo (shrimp + Kalbi) is my go-to. Heads up: it’s cash only, and the seating is reserved for Honos customers so you should be able to find a nice spot near the truck. Also, BTS has eaten here too! :)

Food wasn't bad but I'm leaving this review after I saw this old lady at the till, who I'm assuming is the owner, basically kicking out a young couple and their what seemed to be 1 year old off their completely vacant/unused benches, which I included a picture of a few moments after it happened because it was blisteringly hot and they sat down for just a minute....not a great look and probably explains why there wasn't a single other customer.

My husband and I came there to try the famous giovannis shrimps but heard that the spicy shrimp from this place were very good and rated by famous K-pop singers. Let me tell you, this was 10x better than giovannis, we order two menus and added 5more shrimps each time for just 3$. The best shrimps we’ve ever had!!!!

So originally i came to this area for another food truck. I ended up getting plates from both trucks, hands down .. honos is way better. The portions are better, the taste is amazing and the customer service is 100% there. They are cash only so come prepared, but the prices are better and the food is mouth watering!
Also 5 shrimp for an extra $3, amazing!

Best shrimp I've had in Oahu! Pineapple shrimp is the way to go here. I didn't get to try their garlic flavor but I did try Giovanni's and the Pineapple shrimp here blew it out of the water!

Cash only do be sure to grab some at the atm next to Haluma Halewa next door.

Hono’s Food Truck is a must try if you’re in the area. We had the garlic shrimp and the kalbi, both were incredibly flavorful and came in generous portions. Every bite was packed with taste, and it was absolutely worth it!

This is actually better than Giovanni’s. The shrimps are cooked to perfection, plump and juicy.

Giovanni’s shrimp tend to be a lot smaller and overcooked and tough.

If you are with a party, just grab a plate from both and compare for yourselves.

Wifey went to Giovanni’s and I went here. Here the shrimp were definitely larger and rice was pretty good! Didn’t care for the cabbage but that’s just me. It was nice that they had their own place for us to sit so we didn’t have to fight over seating during lunch time. Ordered the butter shrimp, was worth the price. Come support!
