I ordered a gluten free sandwich from this restaurant March 9th. Since they had a TON of gluten free items on the menu, I was not worried about anything at all. They had signs about potential cross contamination, but that isn't a big deal for my allergy. My issue arises when I consume gluten items. I was given a table marker, and I went outside to sit with my group of friends. The man (manager with lightning on his face) who took my order, brought me my food. Given that he was the one that took my order, I didn't question it. I started eating my sandwich and after almost eating half of it... a waitress comes out to our table. My friend still hadn't gotten his food. She said "gluten free *sandwich name*". I was the only one eating gluten free in our group. I quickly realized what had happened and told her that was supposed to be mine... but someone had apparently brought me someone else's order without checking the table markers properly. She didn't care. She put the plate down and walked away, didn't offer to take it away, refund, or anything.I went inside and asked for a refund for at least my sandwich. No one could help me it seemed. People kept calling for help at the register, and eventually the manager came up and called the owners of the restaurant. The girl who walked away from me- came up to the register and said "Can we just give her cash so she can get out of here?" There was not a hint of kindness or sympathy in her tone. My mouth dropped open.. and she looked at me and said "well if you're feeling that sick don't you want to go home?". I didn't get her name, but she had a shaved head, hair had slightly grown in and was brown/darker color. She was more on the thinner side. I wasn't going to leave a review for the mess up... even though I spent hours in the bathroom in severe pain for this careless mistake... but that woman's behavior alone led me to make this review. The manager with lightning on his face was right there on the phone when she said it, and he didn't say a word. It was extremely disrespectful and very inconsiderate considering it was the staffs mess up.I'm very thankful I am not severely allergic to gluten or this could've resulted in a much worse outcome. People can literally sue over things like this happening... especially if they have a more severe allergy than I do. I was told my refund "should process" but they wouldn't provide me a receipt of any kind or even verify my order number. I truly wish I had a better experience here, but hopefully this review helps someone be more cautious about checking what they are served here before eating it. Picture is of the non-gluten free sandwich I was served before I ate half the sandwich.

Calling all vegetarians and vegans! This is the spot for you. Come in hungry, because the portions here are huge! You'll be digging into large, flavorful dishes. We had lunch there and sampled a variety of options, from smoothies and soup to açai bowls, salads, and more! You might even find yourself boxing some up to take home if you weren't incredibly hungry when you arrived.A parking tip: Look past the bus stop when parking. The restaurant is a bit hidden, and Google Maps might not pinpoint it perfectly. You'll find it on the right side after parking in the shared lot.Vegetarian options: It’s all vegetarian, so everything is good to eat without any limitations. EnjoyParking: There is a large sized parking lot. Enough for 20+ guests

Beet Box Cafe was such a delicious stop while visiting the island. I'm vegan and was so happy to enjoy such delicious and nourishing food for a lunch we took to the beach. The Hello Burger is AMAZING and I still haven't had a burger that hit quite as hard since trying this one. The cafe was busy when we went but we got our food in an adequate amount of time. It's a cute cafe with tons of amazing vegan food options. We will definitely be coming back here on our next trip!

Whether you are a vegetarian or not, whatever you order, you will leave feeling full and fulfilled. The flavors blend together so nicely and it’s rare to find a place that can cook an eggplant so well. Order anything on this menu and come away happy. Order a yogi bowl and then get mad that you haven’t been eating it every day of your life.

Great local vibe with amazing fresh food and quaint relaxing atmosphere. A must try on the north shore. Perfect place for a quick breakfast before hitting the beach but also a nice place to relax and enjoy a dine in meal.

I came here to take my son to the restroom because Cosmic Kitchen didn't have one...and I left very glad that happened because my eye caught a glimpse of some vegan, gluten free donuts for sale. My family is gluten free and we hadn't eaten donuts for a long time! The donuts were amazing! We were in bliss each bite. Will schedule a trip just to come here next time I am in Oahu. Staff were friendly.

The veggie review! First of all everything in the menu looked extremely tempting was hard to decide what to eat. We chose the Thai tacos which was good, could have little more spice and flavor to it. The burger was delicious with the crunchy patty. The açaí cacao bowl was simple and amazing! The drinks were good too. Would definitely come here and try more things. The service had a little mishap where they forgot part of our order. The restaurant had a chill vibe where you could spend all day.

If you're ever on Oahu and looking for a delicious fresh meal look no further. The beet box cafe is a vegan/vegetarian restaurant with two locations: one in Haleiwa and one in Kailua. Pictured is my go-to order: the three little birds sandwich: Tempeh bacon with sprouts, carrots, tomato and onion on whole wheat bread. I got the side salad and I don't know what the dressing is that comes with it but it's amazing!

I wanted to check out The General Store nearby and found The Beet Box Cafe for a quick bite after I had found out that most of the food trucks down the hill and the snow cone kiosk only accepted cash. I really wanted to try their award winning burger, although they were sold out (it was the day after Christmas). I decided to try their signature salad, The Beet Salad and man that thing was the hype. It might have even been better than the burger. I didn’t even need salad dressing. Forget the rest of North Shore, come on down here.
