We cruised the road to Hana and built up an appetite so my husband Googled local places and this is how we ended up at Tony's. The prices are average with other restaurants in Hawaii but the creativity and taste a little better. We got the Cheeseburger to split on a bun made from taro root making it sweet with a purple color. The burger was cooked perfectly and seasoned well, fries were fresh and hot. This was our first Hawaiian style lunch from a roadside eatery. You can eat there looking out at the ocean or take it with you. We'd definitely eat here again.
Worst meal we had in Hawaii! Overpriced, everything except the chicken was tasteless and there was bees everywhere. We wish we didn’t stop because we returned in the dark because of that.
First, hesitant to eat here since nobody was around! But, this place turned out of the most delicious food on Maui! Each of Our 7 orders was different than other, and every single food was delicious!! They have Taro bun for sandwiches which is local and purple color.Beautiful place to seat.Great food quality.Great customer service.Unique drinks (juices).Only restrooms are not in good shape.Totally recommended.
Stopped here yesterday as I attempted to make my way around the entire island. Let's just say...it was so worth it! From the Bacon Cheesburger on a Taro Bun to the Kona Mud Pie/Coconut Ice Cream-had to have two scoops. I loved the atmosphere and the food. Thanks, Tony's Place!
Saw this roadside place on our way to hike the Pipiwai trail. It was what got me through that up-mountain trek & it didn’t disappoint. The grilled mahi-mahi sandwich & fish tacos were incredible. Seasoned perfectly! The smoothies were delicious too & the staff was laid back/friendly.
Pit stop for dinner in hana. The fish was fresh, and the chicken was very flavourful. Everything was good and a decent price, though the fries and chicken were a bit too salty for my taste buds (would have preferred lighter on the salt). Still was a good stop considering you are quite far out from the city.Staff were super friendly. They also have a fruit stand next door where we got some fresh maui pineapple
Very good food and a nice place to stop on the road to Hana! The Taro buns are delicious. There are plenty of picnic table to sit at and also a little fruit stand/gift shop.
We ate here every chance we could during our stay near Hana. The ice cream is delicious! My husband ate the poke bowl three times it was that good. I’d say the star of the show are the fries. This is a must-stop place! Also pickup some fruit at the stand right next door.
FANTASTIC!!!! The best burger ever. Thank you so much Tony
What a perfect stop while visiting Hana for the day! I always appreciate local cuisine when traveling. I saw Tony's just off the road when exploring Hana, and made the spur of the moment decision to stop. Tony's offers an assortment of standard Hawaiian plates. We ordered a Swiss Melt with Tsunami Fries and an Aloha Maid Strawberry Orange. Hawaiians don't skimp on the food that's for sure. There was plenty of food for two to share. I really like the tsunami fries. What a unique twist on a similar dish we have on the mainland. If you are looking for a delightful stop while visiting Hana, add Tony's to your list. You won't be disappointed. There is also seating available as well as restrooms available nearby. Also of note, Tony's also offers ice cream treats. So if a meal isn't something you're wanting, perhaps make a sugar stop. There is also a little shop just next to Tony's that looked like they sold fresh produce and trinkets. The staff member at Tony's was also very friendly and pleasant.

I'm not sure why this place has great reviews? My husband and I stopped here after visiting Hamoa Beach. We both got the bacon cheeseburgers with fries. We also ordered a soda and water. It was 41 DOLLARS. The taro bun was interesting, but actual hamburger patty was completely flavorless with no seasoning. We were both sorely disappointed with our greasy, tasteless, and EXPENSIVE burger.
Stopped here on our way back from the Pipiwai Trail hike for fresh papaya and manga. My friend picked out the fruit and they cut it up for us. Fruit was delicious and no one got sick. Success!
We went to Tony’s place on a day tour. It was one of the highlights. Great food and great service. Love that it is farm to table and the the gift shop is stocked with local artisans. Highly recommend a stop here.
This place is sooo good! Order the ice cream in a pineapple, you won’t forget or regret it!
For our lunch break on the road to Hana we all had the fish, I had the grilled fish sandwich on a very unique bun. Sweet potato, purple, different and delicious complement. The quality of the food is top notch and if you are trying to support the businesses in the area, this is a great place.
