The vegetable of the night was cauliflower. Undercooked hard . The swordfish was very good . My husband had the steak with mushrooms and a dab of sweet potato.. Not the most tender. That was the plates. No bread basket to fill.We won't be back here again. Plus horribly expensive and we have dined all over our country.
We shared the ahi yellow fin and hanalei hummus. They were good but pretty spicy. Husband had the market fish, which was swordfish. It was very tasty. He wasn't a fan of the veggies he got. I got the braised short ribs. I loved my veggies and the two bites of braised rib covered in about 5 bites of fat. They did apologize and comped us a desert. Which was good. There was so much fat left I considered giving it to a dog we saw running around the road.

The "short ribs" was unseasoned pot roast on top of baby food and the swordfish was vomit on a plate. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.
Hamachi sashimi is excellent, order more then one if you can, yellowfin Ahi they should cut in half because it is to big of a bite to pick with the chop sticks, and the sauce it is delicious but is all in the bottom and the campanelle puttanesca, is not even raos quality- it is just a ragú sauce from a jar and don’t you dare to ask for a sweet wine because CARLY would give you a look to say you are insane woman! In here they just think lets give them what ever, they won’t know!

Another amazing dinner at Postcards. Make sure you get reservations ahead of time unless it's just two of you. You can grab seats at the bar if you get there right at 5pm when they open. Diana our server and bartender was great and the food was awesome!

Never ate there. Left 45 minutes after our reservation with constant excuses as to why they were late. Miserable staff, empty table for four never seemed ready to seat us. Worst host I’ve ever dealt with, was like talking to a white house press rep. No help.

We’d had many fond memories of Postcards but the current version is a disappointment. The staff should learn how to manage their tables and guests — leaving multiple diners with reservations waiting for an hour for a table is unacceptable. Beyond that the food was good but not great, certainly not worth the extra wait.

Really good restaurant, swordfish was fantastic. Current rating of the restaurant of a 4.3 does not reflect the food served. Just be patient with the service and enjoy the food

Wonderful experience. The staff was exceptionally kind and courteous. We did not have a reservation, but they were able to seat us right away. The cocktails were excellent. Ahi appetizer was superb. The fish of the day was swordfish. Followed the recommendation of our waiter and ordered it "medium". It was moist and delicious. The Tofu dish was also recommended and was very good. Pasta dish also good. Will definitely go back.

We always try to include Postcards in our visits to Kauai. The menu is not expansive, but what they do, they do very well. This time we ordered the Waygyu Beef and Rack of lamb. Amazing. They have a good wine selection and - if the bartender shows up - good cocktails. A Hanalei gem.
Parking: We’ve always been able to park within easy walking distance. But it’s a fairly small parking area. There is a bigger lot near the Dolphin down the street.
Kid-friendliness: Kids are welcome and treated respectfully.

Horrific experience. Straight from the get go the gentleman at the host desk was incredibly rude, eyeing us up and down with a judgmental stare. Then he proceeded to tell us before we could even look at a menu that this was “fine dining” and that they did not have cheeseburgers on the menu. We were shocked. After sitting down we went into it hoping the food would make up for the terrible service, and unfortunately we just couldn’t get past it. The food was mediocre, bland and un-inspiring, especially for $50 per plate, and especially for something that was fine dining. Simply disappointing
