Terrible place. Horrible owner and the food is not worth a penny. There are better Mexican places in Hilo that are worth the money. Do not come here.

Was able to find Mexican food in Hawaiʻi. The service was friendly and welcoming, and the food was okay. The tortillas and chips were a bit stale, and It was a bit bland. It was also a bit overpriced for the amount you get.

Fabulous - the owner cooked for us as we ordered, right down to the coleslaw. If you're looking for authentic, you're in the right place.

Came in towards closing and there was old meat on the grill that looks like it was there for a while. Well that’s what I got on my plate when it was served. It was old and dried out. Had been sitting there probably for hours. Won’t ever be back.

This was probably the worst Mexican food I’ve had in my 29 years of living! The salsa was bland! No flavor, no spice… the chips were good though after we put some salt on them. The chicken in my enchiladas had no flavor and neither did their enchilada sauce. The avocado salsa tasted like sugarless agua Fresca. Which was weird because it was supposed to be salsa. And the “spicy” salsa they had was also full of no flavor. Me my husband and my cousins were not happy with any of our food. We ate some and threw it all away because we didn’t want to be rude to the nice ladies working there. One of my cousins got 3 carne asada tacos (bland), my other cousin got a steak fajita burrito he said it was gross, and my husband had carne asada tacos as well and he was very unhappy. My beans and rice were also still pretty crunchy. We would not be recommending this place to anyone. I was also concerned about the cleanliness of the place and the dirty fridge full of produce and other items in the dining area. Makes sense their restaurant wasn’t packed full of people due to all the tourists in the area, now I know why. Hoping they do something about their cleanliness and their food. Other than that, nice people. We are from Southern California so we expected better, a lot better. Anyone want some TRUE authentic delicious Mexican food. Come to SoCal! I LOVE HAWAII!! Just not their Mexican food!

The food was really good here and fresh! The prices aren't bad either for the quality. Luckily when I went it wasn't too busy. I can definitely see there being a wait on a busy day. The Carne asada steak taco was delectable. I would definitely eat here again.

Finding good Mexican food on the Big Island is hard. And this place won't end your search for it. My biggest complaints are the hygiene and prices. A dry burrito is $12, which doesn't feel justified when the place is so run down and the food is pretty meh. Their menu seems to have a lot of places where they upcharge you a lot.I noticed termite droppings along the counter as well.

Spent over $55 plus a $10 tip for 3 burritos, none of which were made right by the owner/ operator. I asked for no vegetables, specifically no onions, and all three had so many onions that it was inedible. My dad, son and I were extremely disappointed. Just awful all around.

The lady at the front counter will yell across the restaurant at you, if you dare to use the restroom before ordering. I later found out she was the owner. Terrible customer service. The vibe is bizarrely hostile. The food was edible- but I was really hungry. I won’t be back

I really love the nachos they have here it's really good and the service is great especially the bar area the bartender was extremely nice and gave me a free shot when it was my twentyfirst bday I liked the decor it felt very Mexican and this is coming from someone who is Mexican and grew up in Fresno California

We ordered food within the cut off window that they chose and then 30 minutes later they cancelled our order. We ordered very simple food, burritos, to our hungry dismay we aren't eating. Lame place, change your hours if you wanna cancel people's orders.

Went twice during the week, first had the Carnitas Torta, it was really good and at a fair price. The second time had the Tacos al Pastor, even though they are usually in a kebab type stand but these were just seasoned and cooked and tasted really good. My wife had the Sope with "Tripa" and said it was one of the best she ever tried. They had mexican softdrinks (jarritos and boing). Best Mexican Food in Hawaii, thanks Moni for the great lunches.

I tried to order taquitos or a chimichanga but was told they don’t offer either as they don’t fry anything. However, my mother was able to get her tostada shell fried. Asked for a sope and they were out. I asked if I could get a bean burrito with lettuce, tomato and sour cream and was told no because it’s not on the menu. It’s restaurant policy that no changes can be made to menu items. Settled for the bean burrito that was very bland and served with a hair. I showed the employee and asked for a refund and he told me they don’t offer refunds. My dad also received an incorrect order. I was surprised at how many things could go wrong in such a short amount of time. What kind of restaurant can’t accommodate special orders? The no refunds thing is just baffling. I’ve never seen that in a restaurant. It tells me they’re not confident in their food. Only gave a second star because my parents orders were mediocre. The way the employee said no changes to menu items and no refunds makes me think this place has bad ownership. Those policies are set at the top.

This is the secret little place hiding in back of the mall. We miss them when they close. Could be best burrito on the island.Oops, wrong place. The good one is on the Kona side. This is the place in Hilo that is all about rice. Very little meat and lots of rice. They also go very light on other proteins. Good luck.
