First girl who received us didn’t even give us the menus just because we weren’t on her section and the part that I find disrespectful is that she went outside to hit her vape right away instead. Second girl at the bar was good. I order the Ceviche appetizer and i replaced the chips for rice which added $1 extra and no big deal but the rice was extremely stale and super difficult to chew because I’m assuming it was old.
Ceviche was really really good The Carne asada tacos were alright but the black beans made up for it.

My friend took us out for lunch here @ COCO'S & really enjoyed ourselves. We ate & the bar & our server was JOSEPH. He is wonderful in every way. We had the PROTEIN BOWL..catch of the day. We will return.

The Prima Queso is a delicious addition to the chips and salsa. Got the Pollo burrito and it was incredible for the price. Went with the house Margs and they are some hitters. Joseph had amazing service! 5 stars, would recommend coming here!

Solid food with your Mexican standards on menu at very reasonable prices. Staff are exceptionally friendly, well beyond what is standard on Hawaii. The interior is freshly decorated with nice chairs and tables.
The outside setting isn’t anything to write home about but Coco Cantina is worth stopping in at if you’re coming in to Hilo from the other side of the island and need a nice lunch.

Nice clean place, decent prices, great service. Enchilada sauce was a little different, kind of like chicken gravy, but wife loved it. Salsa was excellent.
It's a really cute place with good food. The prices were very reasonable. Our server was friendly and got everything correct. I took a star off on service as the server didn't offer drink refills or chips even though all were empty. I think if we asked, she happiy would have said yes. I highly recommend stopping in.

Vegetarians and vegans beware. While the food we were able to order was decent they list their refried beans and rice as vegetarian when they are not. Both contain chicken broth and the beans possibly contain lard (I couldn’t get a definitive answer).

The cut pieces of veggies in the fajita had the price label stickers on it. When we showed it to the server, she was rude and reluctant to even address it, instead said its just a label- what’s the issue- you can eat it. How could we eat the plastic sticker??!!! Our server was a local, older and short lady with a flower in her hair. All we wanted to do is highlight it, so they make sure it doesn’t happen to others; we dint ask for any monetary discount or anything. (We did pay the full amount and heftily tipped aswell). Restaurants like these should not even be in business.Such a horrible customer experience. The server was also very rude and mean from the beginning itself. We asked for salt and she just rolled her eyes and made faces.
As 3 of us were waiting at the door for our companion, she asked us to leave and had the audacity to call us shameless for bringing this up to them. The server was impudent and overall it was a horrible experience. If you are planning to eat here, please check the food they serve, the people working here can’t be trusted with the food— it can give you food poisoning and stomach issues.

One waitress in particular was incredibly rude. We ordered corn tortilla, got flour. Asked for salt and pepper, she rolled her eyes. Final straw was when there were stickers on the veggies (we don't expect replacement or refund, the dish was almost finished when we discovered it, we just wanted to highlight it so it doesn't happen again). She scowled at us and made a face. We heard her telling the other customers shame on them. We asked for the manager and she said I am the manager. The manager overheard her and listened to our concerns. Seeing few other reviews on here about that waitress. Inspite of all this, we tipped. She told us to leave when the manager came and apologized. She should not be working a customer facing job if she cannot change her attitude. Ruined the whole experience for us
