Smoothies are soooo tasty! You can taste the real fruit, our whole family loves um!
Value, refreshing, and delicious. Mango smoothie was buttery and tasted more like a mango than eating the fruit. Threw it in the freezer and 3 hours later, it had the consistency and taste as fresh.
Best milk tea in town! I’ll definitely come back soon
Surprised this sushi bar was at the top of the list. Eagerly awaiting an early dinner one night, we initially could not find it only to realize it’s in a small food court. But this is Hilo Hawaii after all, so we ordered a roll, 3 Nigiri and a Poki Bowl The fish was not fresh, the pieces small and the bill was $50 before tip. I don’t enjoy poor reviews but most grocery store sushi was better quality. We were disappointed to say the least and left still hungry
First, food is excellent! They do a very nice job, make it fresh and the place is very cool...right next to two other food counters, also right around the corner from the market. One is Thai, very good as well and another acai bowl place which we also love. I took a star because of the hours, twice now we have gone wanting this and they are closed?? Both times were within what they say open on here, but nothing there but a closed sign, frustrating because we love the food.
We stopped at Dragon Kitchen after taking a trail ride north of Hilo. It was one of the few sushi places without split hours, and since we arrived in town about 2pm most spots were closed or closing. No drama - we looked up reviews on TripAdvisor, and followed the 5/5 ratings. Dragon Kitchen did NOT disappoint. I had the Warabi (Fern rolls. Yes fern. One of the best things I've ever eaten) and Ahi. Husband had Ahi. If you're with a group who isn't into sushi, there's also a great local food vendor in the back with huge plates for 9-15$, and a Thai cook. But I cannot recommend this place enough, built by a Japanese sushi chef it is fresh and lovely (note that they offer brown rice and are extremely vegetarian/vegan friendly). There's an ATM and a locked restroom for customers. You can eat at one of several small unfussy tables inside the shared vendor area, or takeout and hit the beach. Finish off with a shaved ice from Terry at the last counter before you hit the road again; tell her how adventurous you're feeling and she'll make a recommendation for you.
This is it! Authentic Japanese sushi made from an actual Japanese sushi chef! If you're looking for a good, fresh, and affordable sushi then look no further! I've been coming here for years and the quality have never change. My personal fav will have to be the salmon skin roll and the shrimp tempura roll!
