Here you will find a very nice Japanese family making honest and delicious sushi. You can easily eat for ~$15, so the prices are very fair.
A nice bonus is that they have labels on their menu showing which items have cooked ingredients, and also which items are made only with vegetables. If you ever been a vegetarian (or vegan) in Japan, you know that you basically need to eat Buddhist food to avoid animal products, so it’s nice to see simple green dots on a menu of Japanese food. (That being said, I’m pretty sure what I ended up eating would have fit a Buddhist diet, and there’s nothing at all wrong with that.)
Finally, they had warabizushi (fiddlehead), which I’ve never had the opportunity to eat before. It was excellent. The interplay between warabi and nori is really complimentary and fun.
Gochisousama deshita, Dragon Kitchen!
P.S. brown rice is more nutritious and only has a slightly different chew to it, so don’t worry about this being unusual. They know how to handle their rice perfectly.

Great family owned business. Every time we come to Hilo we eat here. Food is always fresh and the owners are very appreciative of our business. Highly recommend this restaurant to eat. This is in a food court, so there are some tables to sit and eat.

At first, I was suspicious about brown rice sushi, but they do it so well i dont even think about it. The couple who run it and are super kind and a delight to order from. They get a 5 star.

Excellent sushi, too bad the location is essentially an indoor food truck, but definitely felt like I should just spend the afternoon there trying everything on the menu - yes, that good.

The sushi was very minimal portions, price was ok for Hawai'i. Second time we went they ran out of brown rice at like 2ish and said they were closed ..... Prolly won't be back sadly.

Walked from the farmer’s market to get some delicious ahi tuna and spicy ahi bowls. Very kind man and woman behind the counter whipping everything up from scratch; great quality.
Hidden gem! Article mentioned this is a top 100 Sushi joint in the country — and I totally believe it! Best sushi place! Owners were super sweet and kind! Would come here many more times!!
Kids loved the sushi! No frills in and out location.
The food is overpriced, and the brown rice doesn’t pair well with the sushi. Not recommended. Не рекомендую.

I love the owners, they're always so incredibly sweet, and they serve delicious food. I think the prices are very fair. They hand make each roll and I love eating here. They have plenty of veggies options!
