Hawaii BBQ Deli

I ordered a New York Steak Garlic Shrimp combo, it took about an hour for me to receive my food, even though it was on the counter for a good 10-15 minutes. When i opened it as I walked away to find a table to eat, I realized the “ steak “ looked off. It didn’t smell like steak or look like it. Went back to ask the cashier to clarify if it was steak. She gave me a look as she claimed it was. So I went back, took a bite of my food & it was not steak but pork & it wasn’t even fully cooked, it was oozing with the “ juices ”. One piece was completely raw on the inside but seared on the outside. I’m disappointed in how things are done now days with this business. My meal was $19+, I should get what I paid for and in a decent amount of time. I understand that times are hard but waiting for more than an hour to receive a plate of food when business is not busy, is unbelievable.

Meat jun under cooked, meat jun sauce to hot to dip and eat, and rice hard like a rock. Very poor food

Mahalo for a great lunch and great value. Super tasty and huge portion. I got the mixed BBQ plate and it's so good I'll probably be back tomorrow.

Garlic Shrimp: fried in the shell, not cleaned and full of the dirty vein. 2/10
Beef and Broccoli Lo Mein: plain beef, oily noodles, 5/10

Was hoping for more, but it’s just a standard cheap run, of the mill bland Chinese food.

It's a stall in the Puainako Shopping Center. Aside from that I had a good bowl of vegetable saimin there. There is a menu board above the order counter where I placed my order with the attendant. She later brought it to me at my table. The setup is a cozy fast food style table and chair arrangement.

There was a large quantity of al dente vegetables with authentic tasting noodles in a lightly salted broth, not like the instant noodle sodium bombs.

Very satisfying and a repeat.

It's not a particularly nice place to sit, but I would actually recommend the restaurant as an insider tip.
The food is very freshly prepared.
We found the food to be very tasty.
The portions are really large and extremely cheap.
Perfect for big appetites and small wallets.

Maybe I just chose the wrong dish (chicken chow mein), because I was a bit disappointed with the food. Very basic & pretty tasteless - just some steamed chicken pieces with bland stringy noodles, no flavour at all.

i got the gravy cheeseburger and it was hecka bus, it tasted like a soft, smooth uhh burger :) and service was quick and food came quick too :

Mushroom Chicken Plate is the Islands best. The food quality is consistently great and the large portions are appreciated. The Beef Saimin is also fabulous.
