The server was really bad. I went back and forth for 20 minutes after being shown to my seat and made eye contact, but he ignored me and didn't come to take my order. I asked a passing server if I could order, but he said I should wait because he wasn't in charge. I knew the closing time was 9:00 and it was 8:20. After a while, the server in charge, a Filipino woman, came to take our order and ordered the mix plate in the picture, loco moco, and a drink. The reviews said that the portions were plentiful and delicious, but the amount of food was only half as much as shown in the photo. The seat was close to the kitchen, but the servers probably thought they wouldn't understand English, giggling among themselves and mocking what I said, 'Can I order now?' I lost my appetite so I asked for a receipt and a takeout box.
There was an additional charge of 3.95 on the receipt, so I asked another server if this was correct and he said no and would check. After a while, the Filipino server in charge brought me a new receipt minus the additional fee. I felt really bad, whether it was racism or not.

Our table server Joyce who looks like Filipino was really terrible. She overcharged us and didn’t say sorry. I tried to order a few times and waited 20 minutes. But she kept ignoring us. And I overheard her make fun of me behind our table. So rude. Is this racism or not? Disgusting.

We had a great experience here. The helpings were huge and they were quite busy and we got our food so fast! It also is posted that it has a sister restaurant called the Wailoa Grill for anyone interested in trying that place also.

Had the wat u min saimin and it was amazing! Broth was flavorful and light, and noodles were good as well. Portion is huge! Also had a pancake and when they call it a “famous” pancake, I can see why. The pancake was so fluffy and delicious, easily one of the best I’ve had. The pancake fills a whole plate. Service was kind. Menu has a lot of options, and everything looked good. Definitely worth it!

The best value for local food. The specials are also very good. Of course, the pancakes are to die for and we always get one no matter what else we order. Busy place, but extremely well-run and the crew is synched like a well oiled machine. Don't miss it!

Parking: Good number of spots available on both sides of the building.
