They are temporarily closed with no definite reopen date, at the brewery anyway. We drove by to get some beer and were disappointed that they were closed.
Had the opportunity to stop by Hilo Brewing last week with my wife. What a gem! When I think of a brewery this is what I think of. The place has character! You are sitting right in the middle of their operation and the place smells like a brewery! (which is to say it smells good). The service was stellar- the bartender and other workers couldn't have been friendlier. We tried all of the brews and they were great- my personal favorite was the Porter. I can say that I stopped at the 4 major breweries on the Big Island and the Porter at Hilo is hands down the very best! Although we didn't have any food it smelled wonderful. Only downside to the brewery is that it is pretty much on the other side of the planet from where I live. ;)
Daniel is fab and so loved the Pale Ale and second round we did a Southern Cross! Great brewery and recommend a visit.
Good beer, nice people. Tino's puposa shop was set up and they had some delicious food too.
Really good beer and food. Great friendly spacious atmosphere! We came here several times on our visit to Hilo.
Small brewery in Hilo. One of only two in this town. Bartender was super nice as were the locals! At the time I visited, I believe there were 7 beers on tap, 3 which were ipa's. No hazy ipa's though. I would say the beer was decent, but nothing really stood out.
Best kept secret in town - Hilo Brewing. A local favorite. We loved the Red and their porter. But lots of flavors to try. Running at 25% capacity while distribution is figured out. Stop by often as everything sells out fast. Even faster if you want a T-Shirt or cap.
Good beers and awesome food with Big Island Smokehouse stand!!
A pretty good local brewery. The Hilo Golden is perhaps the best golden ale I’ve had, it’s really crisp and refreshing. The Mauna Kea Pale is fairly good too. Their IPAs and porters are meh. Prices are ok, and they have a bunch of merch and to-go cans available. Service is good. They don’t serve food, but there seems to usually be some food vendor set up in their warehouse area.
The main reason for the lowered rating is that I was only able to visit them on my third attempt. My successful visit was on Friday, but I previously tried to stop by during the business hours on Wednesday and Thursday, only to be met by locked gates with no explanations for the closure. You guys have social media…use it!
Loving that danky smell from the tsunami

Chill spot with plenty outdoor picnic tables. Beers are just ok
Cool vibe and Great beer. Daniel working the bar was making all feel welcome. Bonus - street tacos were being served. Will Def come here again.
Great place to stop for a few beer when passing through Hilo.
Great beer, great people. Challenge Daniel to 3D connect 4
